I feel I need to apologize on behalf of White American’s in this country. Our history of racial bias is an example of generational bigotry taught to our children and their children. It is with sincere regret that Caucasian American’s would take their gift of a vote and abuse the privilege it offers them to make a difference in this world. Please accept my deepest sincere apology for our ignorant behavior. Education is freedom and when we can mirror the rest of the world in our tolerance of different skin color perhaps we will truly be free. I am sorry if the White vote has disappointed anyone in America. I am ashamed of our ignorance.

I wrote this on another blog...I agree whole-heartedly with your comment:

I am a white male voter who has lived in many states across the continental U.S. The t.v. personalities talk a lot about why Obama can't "close the deal." How can he close the deal in places like Penn. (where I've lived) where Republicans like Clinton appeal to the most racists tendencies of voters. Believe me, the older votes (i.e., Clinton's "base") in Penn. are based on race. I can't tell you how many racist comments from Penn. voters I heard and read leading up to the primary tonight. That is the truth, the sad truth.

Sheri and John... individuals like you open my heart and mind a little wider. It is so refreshing to come across a white American who really gets it. Anyway, no single group can accomplish anything worthwhile alone. Our greatest moments have been moments of unity. Unity seems both near and far in 2008; you and others like you are pushing us closer to it. Thanks.
