I recently contacted a local church about doing a voter registration drive and included Obama name in the registration drive so, it looked like the church was supporting Obama. I did not know that this was illegal and the church has suffered harsh criticisms from this. I sincerely apologize and I hope that others will learn from this honest mistake. I would not knowingly do anything to harm anyone's reputation or to harm anyone's campaign.
The church St. Augustine's Episcopal in Kinston, NC had nothing to do with this. I sincerely hope that the criticism of the church will cease. This was clearly an oversight or lack of knowledge on my part.
