On Obama Supporters Portrayed By the Media as a "Cult"

We are marginalized with the word "cult" as an attempt to put the American people back in their place, to tell us to sit down and shut up. There is NOTHING Washington fears more than the populace taking control, any control, from the representative electorate. The notion of denigrating US -- the people of the United States of America, in the majority -- is extremely similar to the stifling of any "undesirable" majority in this country. At one time, African-American slaves were in the Southern majority at 11:10 to white people, and boy were white folks scared. They came out with an amazing amount of writing trying to insubstantiate African-Americans as spiritualists, as all heart and no mind, and as eugenically inferior. We are being invalidated, or muted, in a similar way, because we represent a DANGER to the status quo in Washington with the power of our renewed mobilization and voice, and our rejection of the apathy that has nailed us to our seats for the past 7 years as atrocities have been committed around the world in the name of the American people. But we all know the truth. Those were the whims of our corrupt Government playing money games, swapping blood for oil. Will we permit ourselves to accept the media's favorite spin job on us now as a "cult"? A dangerous group of fringe radicals (who are actually the majority of Americans) who threaten that 4th branch of Government -- the media itself. How many times have we been critical of the media? Many. And this terrifies that GOP big business endeavor as much as it terrifies any other Washington relic whose hands are bound by PAC's, Lobby groups, and big money deals going on around the world, not to the benefit of the American people, but to the benefit of a few misanthropic entrepreneurs who have the audacity of calling themselves politicians. Politicians should be leaders, not oil moguls. Politicians should help guide America and its people, not join the top monied elite while depriving resources from the majority of blasphemously poor, hard-working people. So no wonder we're sanctified as a "cult." That means we've got a voice, our voice, and it scares the heck out of them. Good. It's an insult I'll take as a great compliment any day.
