So a few days ago a handful ( or is that HANDFED) republican Senators decided that the UAW is resposible for bad management and lack of vision on the part of the Big Three. According to them the only reason that the Big Three are in trouble is that they pay their workers 10 bucks more an hour than Toyota....( lest we forget the crushing pension payouts that they are saddled with).
So, ONCE AGAIN, the Republicans express "MORAL Outrage" about the disparity of pay, and If the Union doesn't PAY for the mistakes..then we will just hold or breath and stamp our feet!
I really think there is enough blame to go around..unions and management...BUT, To hold the Workers Responsible....ummm does this sound like holding the PFC's and Corporals responsible for a policy of TORTURE???
I MUST HAVE MISSED THE PART when the Republicans were clamoring for AIG,GOLDMAN-SACHS and CITIGROUP Upper Management TO TAKE PAY CUTS, OR NO MONEY ??? was I absent that day?
OH, RIGHT, I FORGOT...THOSE FOLKS are the CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTORS for these Senators and the Union Backs Dems.....Now, let's see If I have this straight????..........Constituents don't count ..THE ONLY REASON WE GET "MORALLY OUTRAGED" is when someone that DID NOT make a CONTRIBUTION asks for ...44 TIMES LESS..than you just gave (without strings) TO YOUR PALS !
THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE GUYS AND THE IDIOT ILLINI GOV. is that HE WAS JUST UPFRONT ABOUT IT !
