There are currently 247 Watch Parties officially scheduled for tomorrow night -- which means thousands of grassroots supporters will be coming together around the country to eat, drink, be merry and watch the results come in from tomorrow's big elections in Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island and Vermont.
So, quick! Right now you can sign up to host your own party -- at a local bar, restaurant or even your own living room. Tell all your friends and family, and then just click here to set it up so that people in your area can sign up to come to your event.
These parties are a great way to meet other supporters, talk about your ideas and continue to grow this historic grassroots movement -- just ask grassroots volunteer Tobias in Indiana, who we just caught up with on the phone. He's throwing a big Watch Party in downtown Indianapolis -- at a sushi restaurant called Naked Tchopstix. They've already got about 65 RSVPs!
Tobias is an environmentalist -- and he's also a captain in the Army National Guard. He talked to us a bit about why he's gotten involved in the campaign:
"I'm about to deploy to Iraq, and so I'm organizing and volunteering because I want to do something for Barack's campaign before I leave. It's clear that Barack Obama would make an excellent President and Commander in Chief -- and regarding the Iraq War, he has the most reasonable approach of any candidate. He has a practical plan to withdraw that addresses the root causes of problems there, and he's being honest about the fact that we just can't financially afford to stay there.
But most importantly, he carries himself with dignity and respect -- and so much of this war is a war for the hearts and minds of regular civilians. A President that conducts himself the way Obama does will matter enormously."
There are so many different kinds of volunteers working for the campaign -- all with diverse backgrounds, persepctives and thoughts about the issues that face this country.
So make sure to attend, or host, a Watch Party tomorrow night so you can get out there and meet some of the incredible grassroots supporters like Tobias and all the rest of the Indiana crew heading down to Naked Tchopstix tomorrow night.
