If you are looking for a great way to build momentum for the upcoming contests check this out:

Below is a link to the With One Voice fundraising campaign for Senator Obama. It was started in honor of the voter in South Carolina who gave this movement $3.01 and a bible verse. She, like most of us, could not afford to max out her financial contribution. However, the spirit of this movement is not a few people doing a lot, it’s many people doing everything they can.

The goal is to echo our friend 10,000 times over and raise $30,100. So far we’ve raised over $6900 from over 210 people. This is an official Barack Obama fundraiser so funds go directly to the campaign and count towards the 500,000 by March 4th goal.

Please read this information about Hillary's Mandated Healthcare Plan. I don't think people understand what it means. Let the voters know! The costs for mandated healthcare here in MA are VERY HIGH. I love this speech too. He said it so plainly and he's speaking more confidantly. Which helps keep supporters and gain even more. He is so sincere. I truly believe he is gonna stand on his word.

Help needed on the madison-dot-com website--

The opinion page has an article by Stephen Schlesinger backing HRC; out of staters are flooding the comments board with pro-HRC responses, making it look like Obama's backers are silent.

Please, if you have a moment, go to the website and respond with pro-Obama comments. It may seem small, but we can't let their absurdities stand unchallenged. I invite you to be respectful and straightforward, and speak to your reasons for supporting Obama.

The writer is a former official in both the Clinton and Bush admins...it seems logical to me why he would be backing HRC.

Make Calls to Wisconsin!! Words do matter. I am convinced the calls we made before the Maryland Primary made a huge difference. Come on Wisconsin - sign, seal and deliver your state in a big way!!!! The calls are easy and actually enjoyable. If you're timid, go to the website phonebanking and it will help you with how to go about it, and how to handle different situations. It's very helpful and, of course, organized. A phone call from a real person, even if it is to just leave a message helps.

I found it twice but the video stops just as Sen. Obama is introduced!!!!!

I experienced the same thing.

After I finished up some mailings I was doing and read what everyone on the blog said about the speech I decided to stay up and try to catch a re-run and when Barack started speaking the screen went blank.

I turned the channel and all of my other channels were working, but not C Span.

I would love to hear the speech in it's entirety.

in mid-HRC speech. (worth it to see hers, too. she's obviously gotten some coaching, but it is not working for her; in fact, makes her look like she's trying to hard. sounds like someone told her to "be passionate" - but she sounds like she's reading a storybook to kids.)

Obama is up 4.3 points in the RCP average of polls in WI that were taken through Thursday. New polls will come out tomorrow. Obviously we all know that polls can't be trusted, i.e. the 30 point lead coming into the NH Primary.
Also, Obama flew down here to NC earlier today to meet with John Edwards about seeking his endorsement. Barack's receipt of the UFCW and SEIU endorsements will help in getting Edwards' support.

polls are meaningless. They have been in every instance in this election. I can't think of a single time when polls were accurate.

This speech was very good. The people were unable to stay in their seats. What a contrast to HRC speech, which I had to turn off the sound on because i simply could not stand her voice.

At one point Barack's voice was so powerful and moving I believe he shook the room. Almost like the old Ella Fitzgerald Memorex commercial where should breaks the glass, for those of you old enough to remember this classic tv spot!

He spoke to every single audience, even Native Americans!

I think it would be awesome if Barack were to learn a few sentences of his speech in Spanish and say that in Texas along with an interpreter at some of his locations.

Thank you Hillary Clinton and John McCain for joining the movement. We definitely appreciate your strong support in spreading the message that we have been chanting for months.

Yes We Can, Hillary!

But remember, the meaning behind these three words is not a calling for voters to pull the lever for you to win. It is a call to all Americans to heal this nation. This message is not available for your personal use. You must respect it, because these three words are more powerful than you may realize. Because, words are not cheap, they are the motivating force behind the movement.

I just wrote this letter to John Edwards yesterday:

Dear Mr. Edwards,

I'm sure you've been overloaded with requests to endorse one of the two remaining candidates. I understand that it may be becoming a nuisance and a distraction to your own work.

But I also think that there's a good reason for you to receive so much attention. Even the people that did not support you respect you. You are a leader, you are capable of being President of the United States, you just got into the race in a very unique year where there were so many great choices.

You might be wondering who I am, and who I want you to choose. You may have made up your mind already, and nothing I say would sway you in either direction.

For starters, I'm one of the many disaffected youths in America. Well, not really a youth anymore. I'm 32 years old and live in New York City. I'm an average white male that grew up in suburbia. I've had no real personal conflict or inspiring story I could share with you.

I've been considered somewhat intelligent, but at the same time, not personally motivated. I've never exceeded in my potential, or succeeded in the ways in which I thought I might when I was younger.

But it's funny how things change. I find myself writing to a political figure, one that I didn't even choose to support in the election. Why am I doing this? This is so extremely out of character for me that I don't even recognize myself anymore.

Something has awoken in me recently. Hopefully this feeling of enlightenment lasts far beyond this primary election and creeps into other aspects of my life.

I'm getting a sense that I'm becoming more motivated. I'm feeling optimistic about myself. It's not that I think great things will be done for me, but that I can make great things happen for myself.

I'm always impressed with people who can "lift themselves up by their bootstraps". I was always envious as well, thinking that I never had that same kind of drive in my own being.

Not anymore. Not now, and hopefully not ever again.

I don't know how you feel about Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. For me, it's an easy choice. In fact, it's involuntary, it's like breathing. You just know what to do without thinking about it.

You know the right thing to do without having to even question it. From the moment I heard Barack Obama speak, I was transfixed. I was sold. I was engaged in a political process that I normally abhor.

But there are great salespeople out there that you can't trust, so I did my research. The funny thing that struck me was that I didn't care about the policy as much as the path taken to achieve them.

The decisions that need to be made are always difficult and will face opposition. The way that someone negotiates and works together to achieve a common goal is what attracted me most.

The ability to empathize struck a chord within me. It's the tool I use myself when meeting someone new, or watching someone from a different cultural perspective. I try to imagine the world through their eyes instead of judging them from my own.

The point I'm trying to convey is that, if you agree with me on what I'm saying, then the decision is easy for you as well. There is only one candidate left that you could possibly choose to support in the primary.

It's like breathing. It's Barack Obama.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. I will understand and respect whatever your decision might be. I do hope however you decide to endorse a candidate soon. We are all in anticipation because we all respect your opinion.

It might either encourage them to stop using it, or it might actually work.

Whoever is the President must take this concept forward. We can't only rely on Obama to win, so we must make our voices heard with all the candidates to work for our cause.

I was again reminded of the power of words and hope when watching the movie Amazing Grace today. Wilberforce was a GREAT speaker and gave great speeches fighting for outlawing of the slave trade in England. The only thing that he had was hope and his amazing control over words. His life's work would have not been accomplished with hope and his great control over words. Obama should also use this example too. William Wilberforce was consistently accused of JUST making great speeches, but in the end he succeeded.

With hope all things are possible.

I plan to call today and tomorrow, Wisconsin and hawaii. then after that, Texas. the phonebank system through the website is very easy to use. If you are in doubt, write the script in your own conversational style, and add your reasons for supporting Obama. Some local calling centers will have daily talking points to follow, I usually will peruse Politco or msnbc to get FIRED Up literally, and also Obamas latest speeches (the last two really have some great stuff which speaks to his detractors) If you can't deal with calling, donate or if you already have, find a link to match a new persons donation and double your money. Or, you could call your best friend, your best friends mother, your aunts and uncles. Or you could send utube links to all your buddies or create some your self. Or you could bring some food to the local phonebankers in your area. talk to your bunco group, your poker buddies,church members. Together, in each of our own ways, we can contribute to this amazing movement. Don'T Watch the polls, help MOVE the polls! Folks....

I know many of us are nervous. However, I've always come to this blog to get pumped up. Lately, it's been having the opposite effect.

So, lets sit back and relax a bit and have a little faith that our man will pull this thing out on tuesday. Just try it. just try having complete confidence that we will win. Hold a strong, positive vision of victory and know that we will do it. It's amazing what the effect of positive thought can do.

Now, this isn't to say that we shouldn't work hard and make calls and write letters, indeed, these two things go hand in hand.

Just have comfort in the fact that we supporters, and Obama himself are doing our best and that it is up to the voters to decide after that. After all, all we can do is our best.

I agree with you. this is a place of refuge from the spins of CNN etc. and we should continue to be reasonable and calm with these upcoming states. Its easy to sit alone in front of a computer and have a warped sense of things by reading and hearing all these conflicting stories on the internet in general.

And when I have my moments I just keep thinking about all that the campaign is doing behind the scenes! And its so encouraging. Sure our contributions with phone banking and donations, etc are really making an impact, but these guys are becoming seasoned pros and just the little tid bit about his mtg with John Edwards, is just a tiny glimpse of all they are doing right now before Tuesday!

So let's keep posting all the good stuff- all the success stories with phone banking etc. (I wish I could make calls today but I've lost my voice and its a bit squeaky and not the OBAMA impression I would like to give off. So people call for me!)

Let's keep phone banking and encourage others to do the same!

The speech was perfect, hit every note perfectly.

However, I couldn't help but notice that Barack looked angry. He didn't smile even at the end when he was waving to the crowd.

Not that he doesn't have reason to be angry, but it's unusual not to see that broad smile at the end of a speech.

I noticed that he seemed angry also, but I liked it. He needs to not only have a positive message, but he needs to have that edge of defiance.

It shows that he will not smile when being attacked, and can defend himself forcefully.

I don't think it's anger, it's determination. It's the look of a man who knows there is serious work to do, and is ready to do that work right now, but still has to battle for the nomination and against the distortions of his opponents. It's the look of a man who is frustrated by distortions of his record and his platform, distortions that are easy to see to anyone of intellect, and to anyone willing to do the slightest research and not simply buy in to what the media and ads tell them. But most of all, it is the look of a man who is honest and forthright about who he is and what he is offering, someone who knows that his actions and words don't need to be polished with a fake smile and a kiss on a the forehead of a baby, someone who is confident in his abilities and ready to rally a people hungry to be active in their government and in society.

When I say I'm fired up, I mean I'm excited. When I say I'm ready to go, I mean point me in a direction and I'll start working. That's the look on his face, that of a man who is ready, right now, and determined to lead us all to better times.

But when "our opponent" was being introduced I had to switch over to "On Golden Pond" where there was truly Oscar winning performances.

I knew Obama was due so I switched back to see Jim Doyle (a great Irish- American) do his amazing intro: well Obamas speech just grew into a crescendo- absolutely brill. I was on my feet, and even my husband (who thinks I am overdoing my Obama support cuz I can't vote) - well he was just blown away. He teaches Anglo Irish Literature and was praising Obama's Rhetoric. NO way is it empty.

On healthcare:

I would like everyone to know that anyone can create a universal healthcare if they mandates the coverage. It could be a horrible plan that has high deductibles and limitations to the kind of care you want. By default, mandate obligates everyone to pay the premiums and get covered by the universal health care regardless of the plan quality. If you don't pay, you get penalized in some fashion. Don't hang up on the mandate. Having mandate it self just won't make the healthcare better.

Obama's approach is different. His focus is on the quality of the plan. He wants to create a healthcare plan that everyone wants to join. It is the right approach. He is making the healthcare more attractive and affordable to any one and promising to provide assistance to anyone who wants to be covered but cannot pay because of poverty etc..

Wisconsin, please don't get intimidated by the word "mandate". Using Hilary's own word aganst her, focusing only on the absence of mandate is just empty word to me.

According to the Washington Post, the Obama campaign spent $13.5 Million on TV ads between Feb. 6-14 (the period just before and right after the MD, VA, & DC primaries), compared to the Clinton campaign’s $8.3 Million.

Both campaigns have begun TV ads in Ohio and Texas—spending about $50,000 per day ($350,000 each week)—until the March 4 contests.

Bill Clinton has held a rapid succession of fundraisers in New York, Florida, California, Wisconsin, and Washington, DC over the past 9 days.

According to the Clinton team, her online fundraising has now reached about $1 Million a day.

I cashed two old Series EE bonds to make another donation to the Obama campaign. It’s going to take a lot of cash to compete with the Clinton campaign over the next several weeks. Please DONATE whatever you can.

Don’t forget to ask your relatives, friends, neighbors, barber, hair stylist, pastor, letter carrier, etc. to consider DONATING to the campaign, especially if someone says they support Obama. Ask them to make a donation.

A lot of people support him, but don’t think about making a donation. I watched my barber go online and make a $100 DONATION, just because I asked him to. Don’t be afraid to ask others to DONATE!

Last night someone here posted a link to Mark Halperin's blog that was a transcript of the prepared notes for the speech Barack gave --- I lost the link and cannot find it anymore.

I was very struck reading through it after the speech how much more Obama gave it (probably revised the speech, but still.)

The entire section "Don't tell me words don't matter...." was not in the prepared notes.

By now, we've all heard "Yes We Can" which came out before the February 5 primaries.

What you probably didn't know is that there was another song, literally being mixed in Hollywood on the same day that song was released and that it, too, was called "Yes We Can."

The song was re-titled, "Ready to Believe" to avoid confusion and is available to keep all our great Obama campaign workers inspired and motivated. Hey guys i'm here in Houston working my butt off. I am basically taking 2 weeks off of school until March 4th to get this man elected.

Obama will be here tuesday and i have made 200 calls in 2 days to get VIP tickets, ive also made 50 calls in spanish because they need all us bilinguals out there to get the vote out for all our spanish speaking friends.

Ive been to 3 Obama office openings here in Houston and its amazing seeing the work. Ive worked with people that have worked in Minnesota, New Hampshire, Iowa, Nevada, and Arizona among other states. His campaign is so well organized now that i see it face to face, they will take with them the best and the brightest of the local talent to keep his group energized and strong and diverse and its working.

HAWAII UPDATE:

It’s a beautiful Sunday day here in Hawaii. The sun is shinning brightly with the temperature of around 77. Hawaii is ready to go and caucus on Tuesday night. It has been reported that the previous caucus generally is only attended by 5,000 people state wide. Most of those attending were the establishment Democrats who would favor Clinton. We will not let that happen this year as Obama supporters will flock to the caucus and make our presence known. WE WILL BRING VICTORY to Obama on Tuesday.

To accomplish this we need to keep on calling Hawaii. I have been calling non stop to everyone I know. We need to keep the movement going. The Obama campaign have been advertising heavily on television and the radio. Clinton hasn’t advertised at all.

There is a rally today at Kapiolani Park here on Oahu. It will be attended by Obama’s sister Maya, actress/former Miss Teen USA, Kelly Hu, and our U.S. Rep. Neil Abercrombie. Anybody ever heard Neil speak knows he can even get a rock motivated. There will be another rally tomorrow at Farrington High School.

We need to keep our hopes high and continue what we’ve been doing to support our hometown candidate. YES WE CAN!!!

It occurs to me that Obama is not the first presidential candidate to invoke the power of hope. During the Kenedy campaign Frank Sinatra was singing the song "He's got High hopes". Maybe someone out there can artistically resurrect that song and put together a Yutube video that points out the similarities in how both Kenedy and Obama inspire people with the power of hope.

I don't know it was just a thought. Maybe it is a bad and lame one. You tell me.

dido fellow Obamacan, one great speech deserves another....but duplication can actually dampen the enthusiasim...I'm sure that it's hard to write speeches when on the road so much and exhusted, but it must be done...otherwise it will seem more like "just" words... I really want this movement to take it all the wau to the white house but it's an up hill battle...I bet Obama can expand on his message and create even more potent slogans that others will try to steel...I also look forward to the upcoming debates, with greater confidence I expect that he will break out in stronger and stronger responses to Ms. Clinton.

Wisconsin Elections Division invalidates hundreds of late mail-in registration forms

MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Hundreds of people who mailed in their voter registration forms past the Jan. 30 deadline will have to register again at the polls, the Wisconsin Elections Division said Sunday.

By law, late forms cannot be processed, the agency said.

Those residents can still vote in Tuesday's primary as long as they present current documentation that proves their residency, such as a utility bill or student ID, and their driver's license number.

Residents who don't have a driver's license number can substitute their state identification card number or the last four digits of their Social Security number.

Mail-in registration relieves residents of having to bring that documentation to the polls. But mail-in forms are subject to the deadline.

"For Wisconsinites who intended to register by mail, the form had to have been postmarked 20 days before the election," said elections division administrator Nat Robinson. "Otherwise they must register in the clerk's office or at the polling place on Election Day."

The elections agency said it has received "hundreds" of late forms, none of which can be honored.

Hey, as a Wisconsinite I urge you guys to get on the phones tonight and make those calls! It's close here and Hillary's negitive ads are playing more often then her postive ones. Help us out! A call from a person is so much better than a call from one of Hillary's automated machines (I've gotten 4 of those! What a joke!)
And remind people they can register at the polls and they might be registered already if they've voted in the past.

As one of the smaller Midwest public schools, we don't get a lot of attention or consideration, despite the fact that our student political groups are quite active.
