CHICAGO, IL – Today, Senator Jay Rockefeller, the Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, endorsed Barack Obama for president, citing his judgment on the Iraq war and national security issues, and calling him the right candidate to lead our country during a time of instability at home and abroad.
Senator Rockefeller said, “Today, I’m proud to lend my support and strong endorsement to Barack Obama and his candidacy for President of the United States. Barack Obama is the most qualified person – Democrat or Republican – to lead our country in the face of enormous challenges – the very real threat of terrorism, economic uncertainty, and instability at home and abroad.
“As Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, I am all too aware that the threats we face are unconventional. They are sophisticated. They are constantly changing and adapting. And they are very serious. What matters most in the Oval Office is sound judgment and decisive action. It’s about getting it right on crucial national security questions the first time – and every time.
“The indisputable fact is Barack Obama was right about Iraq when many of us were wrong. It was a tough call and the single greatest national security question, and mistake, of our time. Today, we remain a country at war, and countless mistakes over the last six and a half years have made us less safe. The stakes have never been higher, and that is why we must take a stand.
“I am not just supporting Barack Obama because of his strength on national security. I am equally proud of his commitment to rebuild America – so that we’re a country of equality and prosperity – where no segment of society is left behind. I know Barack Obama will fight and win the battle for health care, good paying jobs, and energy security.
“Barack Obama is a uniquely gifted, brilliant and strategic thinker, who genuinely understands the hopes and desires of the American people. There is nothing sheltered about his life; he’s always had to work hard, and he’s always fought to make his community and his country better.
“A leader like Barack Obama just doesn’t come along very often, and as voters who care passionately about the future of our country, we cannot afford to squander this opportunity.”
Senator Obama said, “Senator Rockefeller’s leadership in the Senate has strengthened our national security and advanced economic opportunity, and I am honored to have his support. Nobody understands the unconventional threats of the 21st century better than Jay Rockefeller, and I look forward to partnering with him as President to strengthen our intelligence community and protect our homeland. Together, we will work to reclaim the American Dream for working families at home, and to restore our security and standing abroad.”

Just so everyone knows, I will be posting this long version from time to time and supplementing it with a much shorter version.
I have been sent so many stories of how people have used these signs. I feel it is too important not to give the long version of this post top billing once in awhile.
Thanks for your understanding.

Back by popular demand! I've had people email me and suggest this link be re-circulated on the blogs so that Ohio voters get the opportunity to read it. This has details about how Mandated Healthcare (like Hillarys' plan) works in MA, and shows how high the costs are. Check it out!

This is a fantastic endorsement, coming from someone on the Senate Intelligence Committee.
It is well written and makes excellent points about Barack's ability to lead in foreign policy as well as rebuilding this country.
It says a lot to Barack's ability move this country in the right direction.

If you are looking for a pick me up, before you make your next round of calls watch Barack's latest ad.

I have been home sick today and have viewed a constant barrage of Clinton propaganda on CNN and MSNBC. The Rockerfeller endorsement has not even been mentioned!!! Is there anything WE can do to counter this obvious media bias? Wolfson has been interviewed at least 5 times during the course of the day to comment on the "fear bomb" ad- AND there is lots of discussion (once again) about Super Delegates. I don't think the Clinton campaign has a leg to stand on when they accuse the media of being biased against them. Trying to stay positive and not whine, but...

Hello Roy,
I looked at your blog: re: Kennedys.
You truly needn't worry about the Kennedy baggage, as a senior senator, Ted has tirelessly passed tons of bills and legislation for decades working in bipartisanship for the good of us all.
But I get your point.
The great thing about being a BO FOLK is that we will be there with Obama up to and all the way through his Presidency making sure things go the way of the people, by the people and for the people. That is why this is such a great "movement", because we are within reach to make sure we remain involved after the elections!

Hey everyone who is fundraising!
I recently wrote a reminder to some folks to help fundraise with me. Here is a copy of my letter. Please critique, or use it for yourself if it inspires your own letters to friends and fam.
****
I know you're busy, but I just wanted to check in with a quick reminder about a note I sent you earlier.
(Quick note: No matter which way you vote, I encourage everyone to participate in this election year. The age of apathy is over for a growing number of people. Demand that our representatives [even the ones you support] answer tough questions and do their work with transparency. Hold them responsible.)
Today, the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee had this to say when endorsing Barack Obama:
"I am all too aware that the threats we face are unconventional," Rockefeller said in a statement. "They are sophisticated. They are constantly changing and adapting. And they are very serious. What matters most in the Oval Office is sound judgment and decisive action. It’s about getting it right on crucial national security questions the first time – and every time.”
Obama's position on foreign policy matters is unique and encouraging; as a result, he is being supported by leaders with decades of experience on our most important issues. His decision to meet with old international adversaries is refreshing. The silent-treatment method practiced towards world leaders is juvenile foreign relations from the 20th century. We need to move forward, and the support Obama has earned demonstrate that people are ready.
I support Mr. Obama for his position on issues, his ability to raise the level of political dialog and inquiry, and for the respectable and positive manner in which he has run his campaign. In this election, we need a diplomat as President, and Mr. Obama embodies those necessary skills and personality traits found in one. Barack Obama and his supporters have reminded this country what practiced democracy is all about; we have witnessed an unprecedented increase in the number of citizens paying attention to and taking part in the political process. If we are interested in promoting democracy around the world, we require a leader who is capable of promoting and inspiring it at home first.
Take a moment to check out my personal fundraising page and consider making a donation of any size.

Kevin

I don't know much about these things, but if I were asked who to pick for VP, our beloved Bill R would not be the candidate. There as to be not just balance, but synergy: An Barack needs someone who will complement him with an equal energy .. Richarson is good, but Rockefeller would be much better.
And maybe there is even someone else who needs to be higher on the list! I don't know, but I trust Obama to pick a running mate who can keep up with him.
That said - this is not the time for speculation or pushing our candidate; let's continue to GOTV!
The vp question is premature.

Senator Rockefeller ~
Thank you for the well stated endorsement.... I appreciate your consideration of this point in history and the type of leadership it requires...
“A leader like Barack Obama just doesn’t come along very often, and as voters who care passionately about the future of our country, we cannot afford to squander this opportunity."
No squandering here - we will continue to be positive and proactive.
C'mon people of TX, OH, VT & RI.
C'mon Richardson and Edwards.

This is and will be a long hard battle because we are fighting to evolve out of old ways. Some of us will walk up right and some will still be crawling. Those who are comfortable crawling will look at you strange because you are walking upright. Eventually the majority of us will look at the one's still crawling, with pity. We will reach out our collective hand and help them up. This is an evolutionary change that is happening in the history of human beings. Gone will be the days of seperating our selves and creating enemies based on superficial categories.
This is a revolution of human evolution. This is not just political. This is major human progress and of course it has been and will be hard.
Whenever I hear the racist rants and excuses against voting for Obama and I begin to think this is insermountable, I read Psalms Chapter 18. It reminds me that no one can be a successful enemy of God. We sometimes are not strong enough to defeat the enemy, but if we are on the side of good and righteousness then the Lord will take up our cause.

This just out from Mark Penn. Since she's the great expert on absoulutely everything, here's her investment advice on a day the markets are tanking yet again.

This article does a pretty good job telling the truth about Clinton's recent decision to conveniently be against NAFTA.
Link
As an aside, I make a lot of phone calls. I think my curiosity helps me a lot – because I really do like to hear what other people think. One of the things I have been curious about is how people felt about NAFTA when Clinton signed it. - Without exception, no matter what state I am calling, people tell me they didn't think it was a good idea. I didn't either – I'm old enough to remember and I wondered, “How is this good for us?” I thought I had to be missing something. ...time has shown me to be right – me, and EVERY SINGLE person I have asked.
Here's the article that really pointed out to ME why HRC being president is going to make it impossible for me to balance my budget. I'll be honest with you – I could never figure out why Mitt Romney didn't do better, considering his seemingly brilliance regarding the economy. I have a feeling, those people who didn't vote for him looked at how seriously he hurt his own state with health care...the same plan HRC has.
Link
Remember in the debate when Barack Obama said, “Her plan is good for the insurance company – his plan is good for the people.”? Hillary made no attempt to disagree. This is my opinion – Hillary, in every way is great for her lobbyists, not the people...they funded her campaign. We the people have funded Barack's campaign – HE is good for us.
Throughout this campaign we have had a huge up-hill battle because of people voting early – those early votes almost always go to Hillary because of name recognition or because they remember the Clinton years as good years, not realizing they set us up for the bad years to come – how could anyone ever guess that Bush would screw things up even further giving tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans and throwing the rest of us to the curb! We ARE in a mess. We need a leader who is FOR US, the people...the top 2% income earners will be fine – most of us need to survive and heal.

I just made my first post here (apart from a couple on my own blog), and I should have introduced myself first, so here comes:
I'm from Amsterdam in the Netherlands, and I've been excited about Barack Obama ever since I stumbled upon one of his speeches on the internet back in September 2006.
I was sure he would be the next president of the US, and felt he would bring about a great, positive shift in the perception that people from other countries have of the US.
Since a couple of months I'm pretty much addicted to everything Obama... :-)

RED PHONE MOMENT |
Report to Admin
By
JD from Seal Beach, CA
Feb 29th 2008 at 3:42 pm EST
Barack in his own words concerning the Red Phone ad from Hillary:
I do want to take a moment to respond, because the press is, I’m sure, curious, to an ad that Senator Clinton is apparently running today. It asks a legitimate question. It says, who do you want answering the phone in the White House when it's 3:00 a.m. and something has happened in the world. It’s a legitimate question. And we’ve seen these ads before. They’re usually the kind that play upon people's fears and try to scare up votes.
I don't think these ads will work this time because the question is not about picking up the phone. The question is, what kind of judgment will you exercise when you pick up that phone. In fact, we have had a red phone moment; it was the decision to invade Iraq.
Senator Clinton gave the wrong answer. George Bush gave the wrong answer. John McCain gave the wrong answer. I stood up and I said that a war in Iraq would be unwise. It cost us thousands of lives and billions of dollars. I said that it would distract us from the real threat that we face, and that we should take the fight to al Qaeda in Afghanistan. That’s the judgment I made on the most important foreign policy decision of our generation.
I will never see the threat of terrorism as a way to scare up votes, because it's a threat that should rally the country around our common enemies. That is the judgment we need at 3:00 a.m., and that's the judgment that I am running for as president of the United States of America.

I think this site is quite dynamic, and I think personal fundraising pages are a great tool. However, I think they are most effective when we solicit donations from our own universe, our family and friends. Every thread now has so many pleas for funds. When you ask for funds on this site, it's kind of like preaching to the choir. We are already probably donating, phonebanking, and knockin' on doors. We need to bring people in. For example, a friend recently thanked me for introducing her to the world of Obama.
One disclaimer, I am not referring to Northern Idaho, his signage has been an invaluable tool and he is offering something in exchange for donations that benefits our cause.
I could not post without a postive word. Stay Encouraged, CHANGE IS COMING!!!!!

I see your point but actually, lots of new people read the blog all day long.
If each fundraising link brings in even just one donor, we benefit. The regulars just skip over those.

I've used the "pledge to match" option quite often. I give regularly in smaller amounts. It all adds up quite nicely, what with a matching donation every time.
I sent my personal fundraiser link out to every person in my address book. Most of my personal fundraising has come from those sources.

Great endorsment Sen. Rockefeller! Thanks.
Hillary is truly amazing! I've never seen a person work so hard to turn so many people off...lol Honestly, I've always been loyal to the Dem. party, but if she somehow won the nomination, I just couldn't vote for her at all, under any curcumstances and I know many of more people are starting to feel that way.
Barack is awesome, and he's the one who has truly worked hard at putting his campaign together, and even if someone chose not to vote for him, that's reason alone to have tremendous amount of respect for him. When 13000 people were gathered last night in Fort Worth, I saw something that you just can't get out of anything else in this country, not even at a sporting event, and in some cases, at a church. People from all walks of life gathered together, not just for him, but for what we all want and have a desire for. That's unity, and I don't care what anyone says about that
Barack Obama is the buffet of politics...there's a little something for everyone! You can't miss with him.

That's a great comment Robyn,
There truly is something in Obama for everyone, they just have to be open minded enough to see it and accept it for what it is... A once in a life time opportunity to elect a truly respectable world leader.
It's nice to be able to log on and take a peek at what my fellow citizens and Obama supporters are saying. This is a great community of people that are absolutely eager to get to work for this country. If Obama gets all the way into the White House, I will be volunteering for something in my community, and I am sure many thousands of Obama supporters are feeling the same thing.
What else are we going to do really? We have all become so used to volunteering our time to this cause, once it is accomplished, I am certain that a majority of us will want to continue reaching out to our fellow Americans in some way.
Keep Hope Alive!

Nah, give me any Democrat over John McCain. I can't stand the thought of 4 more years of Bush economic policies and no intent or planning to get our troops out of Iraq and fight this war wisely, although I do agree with Sen. Obama when he says that it's not enough to just switch parties or vote for a Democrat, you have to vote for the right Democrat(we know who that is). But any would be better than the Repub. TX is looking pretty good. I hope we continue to work and take TX and OH too! The sooner this nom battle is over the better.

These are all polls released TODAY (and in all of these polls, the surveys all took place AFTER the MSNBC debate):
Texas (Reuters/CSpan/Zogby): Obama +6
Texas (Fox News): Obama +3
Texas (Voyager): Obama +7
Ohio (Reuters/CSpan/Zogby): Clinton +2
Ohio (Fox News): Clinton +8
Nationwide (Gallup): Obama +7
Nationwide (Rasmussen): Obama +5
Nationwide (Pew): Obama +9
And Polls in Texas among voters who have already voted show Obama up 63-37!!!!

Do you have a reference for the polls in TX showing a 16% lead among those who already voted??
The biggest lead I have seen is from Zogby at 10% among those who already voted.
What is the Voyager poll that shows a 7% lead in TX? Are you sure that isn't ARG which is the only poll I've seen with a 7% lead for Obama.
The big question is whether Barack is really narrowing the gap among Hispanics or is it still 2:1 for Hillary? If he is narrowing the gap there could be a 10% win for Obama.
The other question is whether any Republican voters will take Rush Limbaugh seriously and vote for Hillary - after all, they may get Hillary as their President if they take that chance!
Finally, you missed the Rasmussen Poll in Ohio which is down to 2% deficit.

Last night I posted a message in the blog asking others to donate to my fundraising campaign. I stated that I’d set a personal goal of $200 but had only raised $10 after talking to friends. And within twenty minutes, 4 people had given a total of $145. Then this morning two more strangers gave and pushed me OVER my limit, all in less than 12 hours. I am SO thankful to those who gave to a complete stranger! Thank you thank you thank you to them all. You made be believe even more in this movement!
But this got me thinking. I’m sure I’m not the only one stuck on my goal. In fact, a lot of us haven’t made the ground we thought we would. So I’ve found the names and links of all the people who gave to me and have not yet finished their own personal goals. I think it’d be amazing if we could finish them off as well. And since today is the last day of the month, we want to hit a homerun in fundraising, maybe this in incentive. So, here are the links to those who are still running short. Let’s see if we can finish them all off by the end of the day!

for me it's way more interesting to hear what people have to say about the blog post itself, in this case the endorsement of Jay Rockefeller. I think it's amazing that such experienced and respected politicians are speaking out in favor of the younger Obama.
In some ways I guess they must be a little jealous, having served in Washington for decades and then this guy is running for president after less than 1 term in the Senate. I know I would be a little jealous if less experienced people at my job got promoted ahead of me. It takes lots of humility and character to recognize Obama's gifts, and supporting him whole-heartedly, as Rockefeller has done.

I am appreciative of every endorsement we get from a superdelegate, like it or not, they are very much a part of the process for NOW. However, I have to say that I think that this endorsement will gain so much political traction. Senator Rockefeller is the Chairman of the Senate's Intelligence Committee and has offered his unequivocal support. Some of the language of the other endorsements seem so timid and conciliatory as if they feel they must apologize to Sen. Clinton for daring to embrace Obama's campaign. The verbiage of Rockefeller's endorsement did not even mention HRC, or just recited the 'Hope' and 'Change' themes. So many people have said that he is not qualified and that he needs to be more seasoned. This speaks directly to the misconceptions about him. Thanks Senator Rockefeller for endorsing Barack in such an eloquent and impactful way in time enough to impact March 4, 2008. In terms of cabinet positions and the VP nod - only those who did not 'sit' on the fence should be considered.

Day of Reckoning
A visitor to Clinton HQ sees signs of serious trouble.
by Eleanor Clift (Newsweek)
The day of reckoning for Hillary Clinton is almost here. The voters in Ohio will either deal a final blow to her campaign or provide a much needed victory that at best will give her a reprieve in the long march to the nomination. A visitor from another country recently paid a call on the Clinton campaign headquarters in Ballston, Va., a place just over the bridge from Washington but light years away. He imagined he would be present at a moment of great triumph. Instead he found a campaign on the verge of imploding. Phone bank tables were unmanned. Bins full of mail sent over from the Senate sat unattended. A lot of young women, fanatical Hillary fans all, rushed about, seemingly unclear about what they were supposed to be doing. Other aides sat in front of computer screens, gloomily reading coverage of the campaign. Howard Wolfson and Phil Singer, the campaign's communications team, weren't speaking with anybody else, just doing their own thing, whatever that might have been. In short, it was not a happy family.

I see those as inescapably linked: respected person + president of the United States. We can have both.
She may not step down before 3/5 and maybe not until later. That remains to be seen. If having to give up running for president was hard for a man (John Edwards), it will be tough for her.
We will need a graceful way to encourage it; as one writer put it (the character of August in The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd - towards the end) [paraphrasing]: We had to give him a way to decide to do what he needed to do without destroying his self-respect.
(And there is always the issue that you want to leave a wounded animal a way to escape, or they will fight to the death, rather than leave when there is an opportunity. Of course humans should be a little more intelligent than to destroy themselves in that manner, but the events in Iraq show that that is not always the case.)
Obama will find a way to do that; but it will still take some time, I think. Be patient...

Of course he can, Republicans like my self are supporting him as well as Democrats; he will be the people’s president.
Now with endorsements like Senator Jay Rockefeller, the Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, such supports with make him strong against McCain.
I have served in the Army intelligence with a concentration on the Middle East. It is my firm belief that Obama’s ability to bring people together will cross over into bringing nations together which will translate into unity of fighting a war on terror that is not based on traditional warfare, but that is a war of the minds. There are two ways to fight this war, either to intervene through the assistance of national leader in putting a stop to the radical messages and recruitments of youth, or the other way is to gain intelligence about ongoing plans of attack by terrorist cells. Both methods require more diplomacy and a unique ability to bring people together then it does filed tactics, for that we have the generals.

See Obama for who he is
He's a successful black man, not a symbol of a post-racial America
By Erin Aubry Kaplan
February 29, 2008
The month of February saw one victory after another in the astonishing, historic ascent of Barack Obama as a presidential contender. It seemed like perfect timing to me -- Obama marched steadily toward the ultimate political prize week after week during Black History Month. But that's not an association people seem terribly eager to make.
In fact, the closer Obama gets to representing us all, the more people struggle with the notion of him as a black man -- reflecting in growing detail America's chronic schizophrenia about racial identity.
The question of race that has been raised repeatedly in Obama's campaign is both straightforward and existential: Is he really black? Isn't he really biracial? Or maybe post-racial, even nonracial? A writer for Salon.com, analyzing a swing through Kansas during which Obama lauded the relatives on his white mother's side, delved into why Obama wasn't playing up that part of his heritage and embracing his "inner diversity"; "Can America elect a zebra?" the piece asked. Another admiring Salon article credited Obama for taking the path to a "post-racial destination" -- but also for the bold move of "making himself black."
Such deconstruction speaks less to any new racial enlightenment than it does to old, deep-seated racial prejudice. The core of the resistance to seeing Obama as what he is -- a black man -- even among his supporters (or perhaps especially among his supporters) is an assumption that he is capable and successful because he is "other." Beneath the post-racial talk and the how-black-is-he speculation lies an antebellum belief that blackness is inherently limiting, while whiteness is inherently transcendent. (Blackness is, however, inherently good for style and "soaring" oratory, qualities the media have been quick to attribute to Obama.)

In the American racial caste system, the more refined and well-spoken a black person is, the more mixed that person is assumed to be. There is some hard historical truth to that: Better-off blacks were often clearly mixed race, the descendants of slave masters and other whites who consorted with black women and gave their children "white" privileges like schooling.
But that privilege only went so far. Modern discussions about race as a matter of personal choice, which have reached new heights with Obama mania, willfully ignore the fact that America has always treated its half-black citizens as simply black -- and it still does. That means that although Obama or W.E.B. DuBois or Booker T. Washington may be lighter-skinned than, say, Jesse Jackson or Marcus Garvey, they are no more likely to be accepted as white.
Most African Americans are mixed with whites, thanks to miscegenation that's been going on for centuries. My family, for instance, is Creole from New Orleans, a racial melange of black, European and American Indian that practically defines "other." But Creoles inspired not a sense of racial liberation but racial anxiety; determined to maintain the color line at all costs, whites enforced the "one-drop" rule and sent people like me to the back of the streetcar. Such has always been the social reality for blacks, whatever their degree of whiteness. If all African Americans declared ourselves multiracial today -- 10% white, or 20% or 50% -- that reality wouldn't change one whit.

Some argue that focusing on Obama's mixture exactly addresses this point -- that it's time to change an outdated paradigm. They say a big part of the hope and change Obama represents is an opportunity to upend the "one-drop" and redefine race altogether, to give America a fresh start. But such redefinition is not the politics of change; it's the politics of forgetting. Casting Obama as post-black is pure symbolism that conveniently fuzzes the many race-specific problems -- incarceration, joblessness -- that affect masses of black men, many of whom look a heck of a lot like Obama.
Let's face it, change is hard. It can be ugly. It's not about conciliation but confrontation. And what must be confronted is Obama's blackness, not his whiteness or some notion that he transcends race altogether. America should be able and willing to elect a black man to the White House, which might qualify as the biggest sea change -- and no small reason for hope -- in our political history.
We should be permanently retiring the one-drop rule, not by trumpeting a new multiculturalism or a new post-racialism but by acknowledging that it is indeed possible for somebody to be both unequivocally black and representative of other fellow Americans.
That's a lesson that's taken far too many election cycles to learn. Whatever happens with Obama's campaign now, let's hope it's at least taught us that.

He hits right on the argument I've been using in support of Sen. Obama for the past year -- that he is a deep thinker with an exceptional grasp of history, political theory and economic reality.

The scope of his public service is amazing --from his work with the Kennedys in the Peace Corps, his volunteer efforts with VISTA and his service to West Virginia in the Senate. I live in the Washington, DC area and have been imagining just what an astounding event Barack Obama's inauguration is going to be in our town! In my vision, I see him not being sworn in on the steps of the US Capitol as most other presidents have done. Instead, I see him standing on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on the very spot where Martin Luther King gave us his famous "I Have A Dream" speech, celebrating one giant leap on our road to toward equality and justice. Wouldn't this be a logical follow-up to Barack's announcing his candidacy at the Illinois State House where Abraham Lincoln once stood? Does anyone want to join with me in promoting his swearing in at the Lincoln Memorial? May that vision continue to motivate all you volunteers and donors who make me so proud to be an American. Thank you!

Hi team,
Below are a few articles on outsourcing that will be helpful as we talk to voters about Barack--especially voters in places like Ohio. The articles include information about Hillary Clinton’s troubling history with respect to outsourcing. The second article says that a pro-outsourcing group has pledged to raise $5 million for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. I’ve included excerpts from each article underneath the link for the article. Also, my intent in posting these articles is not to make a generalized statement that all Indian-Americans support outsourcing. I realize that is not the case as some of them have also been hurt by the devastating effects of outsourcing on workers in the U.S. (or have friends/family that have).
Link
Excerpts:
“The Indian vendors’ main worries are two Democratic candidates: Senator Barack Obama of Illinois, whose campaign has hinted at opposition to outsourcing, and John Edwards, former senator of North Carolina, who is running a populist campaign. Many Indian executives consider Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Democrat of New York, more sympathetic to their industry, but they are concerned that she will be compelled to match the others’ statements in a tight contest.”
Link
Excerpts:
“At a recent event in Los Angeles, host Nadadur Vardhan told those gathered that they should support Clinton because ‘she may shift more jobs to India,’ according to an Indian news account.”
….
“Among labor officials, a nagging question about Hillary Clinton's commitment to protecting U.S. jobs stems from a deal she helped broker for Tata Consulting, one of India's largest technology firms. In 2002, Clinton helped Tata land an agreement to open an office in New York state and to work with a Buffalo area university to create at least 100 jobs in the depressed community.
But today, Tata employs just 10 workers at the New York training center while sending much of its work to its predominantly Indian workforce, which includes many on temporary U.S. visas.”

Here is the problem with Hillary and her ad:
she was a member of the armed forces committee prior to the invasion of Iraq. as a member of this important committee, she had an obligation to read a critical report that had put doubt on the basic rational behind the war of Iraq; but she failed to do that. in other words, this failure is not consistent with someone who would make the right judgment upon picking the red phone.
Hillary would claim to be a hands-on manager, but yet would not take full responsibility for the missteps and failures of her campaign such as smear e-mails, and false accusations from her top advisers. she claimed to have the judgment, but would give president bush, not just one disastrous benefit of the doubt in Iraq, but yet another potential one in the case of Iran; she would claim to be a formidable candidate that was reportedly tested against the republican machine, yet her record shows that she ran in New York virtually uncontested against unknown republican lightweights. in addition, she ran uncontested in the senate primaries; she would claim to be her own person, independent of her husband, but yet would constantly use the accomplishments of her husband's accomplishments as her own.
it is worth noting that many people have criticized Obama for not having a senate oversight hearing on the war on Afganistan; but the irony is that the people who are saying that are the same people that have argued repeatedly that the conduct of the war is the proper domain of the executive branch. they would say one thing in one instance, but says the exact opposite in another instance when it is in their interests.

Days of Prayer & Fasting for Barack: Mar 3 - 4 |
Report to Admin

Feb 29th 2008 at 11:54 pm EST
Hi team,
As most of us know, we have primaries/caucuses coming up on Mar 4. Please join my family in 2 days of prayer and fasting for Barack on Mon, Mar 3 and Tue, Mar 4. Let us include in our prayers a request to God that Hillary Clinton will bow out gracefully from this race within one week of March 4. Please structure the prayer and fasting according to your preference (individual prayer, group prayer, prayer 2 times a day, prayer 3 times a day, full fast, partial fast, no fasting at all, etc).
Someone said in an email a while back that Hillary has some serious prayer warriors in her camp. Apparently, they prayed for Hillary all day on the Tuesday of the New Hampshire primary and also the night before. It may be their prayers that caused her unexpected win in New Hampshire. As the apostle Paul wrote, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but … against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12).
Let us cast aside doubts and remember the words of Jesus: “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24). We have to believe that God will grant our requests, not only that He is able to grant them.
To echo someone’s comments previously, let us also pray for Hillary Clinton - that she will re-assess the choices she has made and that she will allow God to make her the woman He wants her to be. I’m confident that God will cause her to lose this nomination, not just for America’s sake but for Hillary’s own sake - a severe jolt to push her to look at herself in the mirror and change course. I will post reminders of the days of prayer and fasting as they approach.

Senator, this is huge. Thanks. You are the man.
Dear friends of Barack Obama, I read Senator Rockefeller endorsement and trembled at its weight, depth and details. This is no mean person speaking. His high and sensitive office raises the authority to his endorsement to the level of an announcement. This is the strongest appeal to all those who needed some help on Barack Obama security credentials. Senator Rockefeller is an elder statesman: He is Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee with unquestionable credibility. By endorsing Barack, he has exercised his responsibility to point all of us to the way out of the challenges we face today as a nation.
Stop to read it once more. Then start calling, donating and working like crazy to win Ohio. Be fired up and inspired for working on the right team.
Hey, and I support Eric's (Eric from Saint Cloud, FL) suggestion that we need to try and get Oprah, Michelle and some other great influential people to have a big rally in Ohio and Texas this weekend to get out the last minute undecided vote, on March 4th the race is going to be extremely tight we cannot waste no time.
