In Erie, Pennsylvania today, Obama directly challenged McCain's support for the Bush economic policies that have caused so many jobs to move overseas. Obama took on McCain's assertion that we've been making great progress under Bush, while in reality, millions of Americans are struggling to get by in the current economy.
"Only someone who has spent two decades in Washington, could make a statement as disconnected from the hard times that people are facing all across America," said Obama. "Only somebody whose campaign is run by Washington lobbyists could think we're making great progress while so many Americans are struggling."
