COLUMBUS, OH—The International Brotherhood of Boilermakers announced today endorsed Barack Obama for president, citing his opposition to unfair trade agreements and his record of fighting for working families and protecting American jobs.
“Barack Obama is bringing together a diverse coalition and inspiring people to action like no other candidate has in decades,” said International Brotherhood of Boilermakers President N.B. Jones. “Barack Obama has shown the energy and vision to unite Americans, jumpstart our economy, and put working people first again. Our members are grateful for his efforts opposing unfair trade deals, and his proposal to reward employers who retain and create good jobs here at home. That’s the kind of leadership we need right now.”
“Barack Obama understands the needs and wants of American workers, and he’s deeply committed to the issues that will make a difference in our lives,” said John Clark, Retired Boilermaker member from Local 744 in Cleveland. “Here in Ohio, we know we can’t afford more of the same politics in Washington. As President, Obama will continue to stand up to the special interests and bring people together around common-sense solutions. I’m supporting Obama because this year, we need more than just campaign talk—we need results.”
“I started my career helping workers and their families recover from plant closings, and I’m proud to have been on the front lines of that fight ever since,” Senator Obama said. “I’m thrilled to have the support of the Boilermakers because they understand that if we come together—and work together—we can finally bring about the change that working Americans are so hungry for: lowering costs to make quality health care available to everyone, ending our dangerous dependence on foreign oil, and ending tax breaks for companies that outsource jobs, and putting those tax breaks in the pockets of working people.”
The International Brotherhood of Boilermakers represents more than 65,000 workers throughout the United States and Canada, including more than 3,500 members in Ohio. Members work in power generation, refinery and paper industry construction, maintenance and repair, shipbuilding, cement, lime and gypsum production, industrial manufacturing, and other industries.
Senator Obama has made several key proposals to help working Americans thrive in a prosperous and secure nation. As President, he will make quality health care affordable for everyone, and he will expand the earned income tax credit so that workers can keep more of what they earn. Obama has proposed a bold energy policy to put us on the path to independence from foreign oil. And he’s proposed legislation to end tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas and reward those who invest in good jobs here in America.

Purdue University's mascot?
I googled it and got this:
A BOILERMAKER IS A SHOT OF STRAIGHT SCOTCH FOLLOWED BY A BEER CHASER
I don't think that's what I was looking for...
Here's another answer that came up:
A boilermaker is a trained craftsman who produces steel fabrications from plates and sections
That sounds more like it :)

From their own website, a boilermaker is:
Anyone who works in the boiler construction or repair trade
A member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers
A Purdue University student or alumni
A shot and a beer

Two N.J. super delegates go to Obama; Norcross backs Obama; key Clinton supporters endorse Obama
Barack Obama today picked up the support of two super delegates from New Jersey as several major Democratic leaders in South Jersey announced that they would switch their endorsements from Hillary Clinton to Obama. Super delegates Donald Norcross, who had previously been uncommitted, and State Sen. Dana Redd, who had backed Clinton, are now for Obama. This is a net pickup of two super delegates for Obama and a loss of one for Clinton

Cool! Thanks for this - much as I am enjoying the race, I am also aware that the longer it goes on and the more desperate Clinton becomes, the nastier she will fight and that kind of politics harms the democratic process and demeans us all.

2.) Member of a Purdue University athletic team
3.) Someone who makes "boilers". Used for heat,
manufacturing and I'm sure now encompasses
other trades as well.

Boilermakers:
No-nonsense patriots that keep our country warm in the winter by manufacturing carefully crafting steel boilers to create steam for steam heat systems. They have to do it right the first time. Theirs is a precise technology which, improperly performed can result in explosions and extrtemely hazardous conditions.
Our whole hearted welcome and may you be employed and at fair wages forever!

A shot of whiskey dropped into a beer, and then drunk together. Heh! ;)
Actually, it's a worker in a plant that makes boilers - huge steel containers for heating water to steam to heat buildings or provide steam power to machinery. Boilers were originally made from heavy steel plate and riveted together, making boilermakers a kind of indoor steelworker. Very hard, grimy and sweaty work.

These union members realize that Barack is, in fact, the most practical candidate – that he is the one who can get results. The reasons are two-fold: 1) Barack will beat McCain, whereas Hillary would lose to McCain – you must first become the president before you can achieve any results; 2) Barack will put together the coalition that will bring about truly substantial results.

Oh, and a sizable number of my family members are International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and they're working HARD to get their union to come in!
SOrry, Kipling time. All the other hardhats will understand this poem.
'The Saxon is not like us Normans.
His manners are not so polite.
But he never means anything serious
till he talks about justice and right.
When he stands like an ox in the furrow
with his sullen set eyes on your own,
And grumbles, "This isn't fair dealing,"
my son, leave the Saxon alone.
'You can horsewhip your Gascony archers,
or torture your Picardy spears;
But don't try that game on the Saxon;
you'll have the whole brood round your ears.
From the richest old Thane in the county
to the poorest chained serf in the field,
They'll be at you and on you like hornets,
and, if you are wise, you will yield.
'But first you must master their language,
their dialect, proverbs and songs.
Don't trust any clerk to interpret
when they come with the tale of their wrongs.
Let them know that you know what they're saying;
let them feel that you know what to say.
Yes, even when you want to go hunting,
hear 'em out if it takes you all day.
'They'll drink every hour of the daylight
and poach every hour of the dark.
It's the sport not the rabbits they're after
(we've plenty of game in the park).
Don't hang them or cut off their fingers.
That's wasteful as well as unkind,
For a hard-bitten, South-country poacher
makes the best man-at-arms you can find.
'Appear with your wife and the children
at their weddings and funerals and feasts.
Be polite but not friendly to Bishops;
be good to all poor parish priests.
Say "we," "us," and "ours" when you're talking,
instead of "you fellows" and "I."
Don't ride over seeds; keep your temper;
and never you tell 'em a lie!'

Help Barack in TexasMy name is Mitch Stewart, and I'm the Texas Field Director for the Obama campaign.
Barack's won the last eight primaries and caucuses decisively, and we're heading into the next set of contests with a lot of momentum. But the race for the Democratic nomination is still extremely close.
The March 4th primary in Texas is the single biggest remaining contest, and we need supporters across the country to get involved.
Sign up to take a trip to Texas before March 4th and help Get Out The Vote for Barack:

We're holding training sessions for volunteers at locations across the state on Saturday, March 1st at 12:00 p.m. You are strongly encouraged to arrive in Texas in time for the training.
You'll spend the next three days working with our staff and fellow volunteers to help get every Obama supporter in Texas out to the polls on Tuesday, March 4th. There's no better way to make a difference in this election.
No prior experience is necessary -- whether you're a first-time volunteer or a seasoned veteran, you'll have the experience of a lifetime organizing for Barack on the ground.
Learn more and sign up to come make history in Texas:

As we enter the final stages of this election, both campaigns are focusing on the crucial March 4th primaries.
Senator Clinton's campaign has even described Texas as a "must-win" state, and they're already devoting unprecedented resources to their operation here.
Our campaign has always relied on grassroots supporters to build our movement and spread the word about Barack Obama. I hope you'll join us in Texas and keep the momentum going.

Thank you Boilermakers!!!!!!
For the first time in my life, I am REALLY proud of my country. *
Our Great Democracy is sparkling as I've never seen it, right now. People are coming out to vote in great numbers, and this is only the primaries. I heard someone from England say yesterday, that our Democracy is envied. He says the Democracy we have is gorgeous. And believe me, it's only about to get more gorgeous. I am so proud of this.
There is a buzz like none I've ever heard. And it's free and open. Nobody's trying to bully me into feeling I am not a Patriot if I don't agree with them. I feel a real exchange of ideas with people I used to feel I couldn't talk to. I am so proud of this.
I am assured that We The People can make a difference, something I never felt so unequivocally, in the voting booth and beyond. I am inspired to sign petitions, write letters to my congressmen, and debate the issues. For the first time I REALLY know that this exacts change.
I am so proud of this.

I was watching MSNBC’s election coverage today via the net and heard Meredith Veirra state that Michelle Obama had said that “For the first time in her adult life she is [really] proud of America”. I was rather puzzled because Meredith’s statement was missing the operative word “really”. Nonetheless, I attributed it to an innocent mistake.
However, another MSNBC video showed a clip of Michelle at the rally on Monday making the statement in question and conveniently the word “really” had in fact been edited out of the clip as well. Can you believe it? The audacity of these folks.
I am quite ticked off by the media’s coverage of this democratic race in general.
It is evident that the Clintons have cronies, others who are loyal to them and those who owe them favors in all places of influence, including the establishment, the courts, major businesses, and especially the media. It is even more evident that these associates and cronies share the trademark ruthlessness and disingenuous nature with the Clintons.
Machiavelli and Rove have nothing on the Clintons and their associates.

So, each time she did use the word "really"?
They played a clip without the word "really" and it did not seem like a cut out.
If she used the word "really" each time, then this is much, much easier to explain and understand. In fact, it becomes a very defensible and reasonable statement.
I would like to request a definitive answer to the question: Did she use the word "really" each and every time she made the statement?

At the rally on Monday, in addressing the level of participation and enthusiasm in the electoral process, Michelle Obama commented:
“For the first time in my adult life, I am REALLY proud of my country... because I think people are hungry for change”. The operative word being “really”.

Robert,
She only made the statement once, and yes she did use the adjective REALLY before the word proud. She then went on to explain EXACTLY what it was that she was really proud of.
I first saw the clip on CNN when Lou Dobbs had Bob Schieffer on the show and Mr Schieffer's whole take on it was that her use of the word REALLY was pivital in understanding the sentiment that she was conveying. The use of the word REALLY, coupled with the full context in which was speaking made it clear that her statement was in no way a general reflection of her patriotism, but rather, it was about a specific event that this nation is experiencing right here and now, and it is an event that is a first for millions of us.
During that Lou Dobbs segment, they played the unedited clip and the word REALLY was clearly spoken. But now all of a sudden, when the clip is played you can clearly see the amaturish attempt to deliberately cut it out, and that one sentence is removed from it's full context and attacked in isolation. Whenever you take a fragment and examine it in isolation, you will always draw an incorrect conclusion. That is what is being deliberately done here.
Here is a clip of Michelle, and you can hear (even thru the attempt to edit) her use the word REALLY, and moreover, you can hear the full context in which she was speaking.

EVERYONE - PLEASE SEND SOMETHING LIKE THIS MESSAGE TO CNN!!
Here is the link:
Link
Just click on as many feedback links on the webpage - Anderson Cooper, Larry King, etc.
Make sure CNN knows we are NOT going to stand for this garbage!!
Here is what I sent:
This comment is regarding the Election special yesterday night. Time and again, a republican strategist or pro-Clinton mouthpiece brought up Michelle Obama's quote about her country. And time and time again, they got the actual quote WRONG. Here is what Michelle Obama said: "For the first time in my adult lifetime I am really proud of my country."
Both Amy Holmes and Toobin missquoted her, leaving out the words "adult" or "really". That makes a HUGE difference in the meaning of that statement.
For example, if you told your child, "Wow Timmy, for the first time this week, I am really proud of you". Does this mean you weren't proud of Timmy before? No, obviously not.
However, now take out the word "really". "Wow Timmy, for the first time, I am proud of you." BIG DIFFERENCE. Now, this obviously means you have never been proud of Timmy before.
See the problem? In their zeal to try and take down the Obama movement both Toobin and Holmes were foaming at the mouth at this "misstep", but never bothered to check the wording of the quote. This not only makes them look foolish, it is a poor reflection on CNN. This was a blatant Rove-style attack that had no basis in fact. They should be suspended or terminated. In addition, I believe they both should apologize for this, on-air. I expect this from FOX News, not CNN.
This post has been removed due to offensive or disrespectful content.

Hillary Clinton loves phrases. "35 Years of Experience", "Day One", "Solutions". Who is this person who must define herself with catch-phrases and who changes themes like many change their shorts? She refuses to release the presidential documents that show what she actually did while First Lady. She now refused to release her tax records, although Obama and McCain have released theirs. She claims to be a populist and "for the people", yet sat on the Board of Directors at WalMart for six years and did NOTHING to benefit the workers, referred to as "blood-sucking parasites" by company attorneys. Now, she criticizes Obama for his oratory skills. I guess she'd prefer to run against George W Bush, for whom two syllables are a challenge, and three, Mt. Everest.
I have found many of Hillary's claims to be not true, such as is illustrated in the ad she is running in Wisconsin. Let's take a closer look at who's really qualified and or who's really working for the good of all of us in the Senate, Obama or Clinton.
Senator Clinton, who has served only one full term – 6 years - and another year campaigning, has managed to author and pass into law 20 pieces of legislation in her first six years.
These bills can be found on the website of the Library of Congress www.thomas.loc.gov, but to save you trouble, here they are:
1. Establish the Kate Mullany National Historic Site.
2. Support the goals and ideals of Better Hearing and Speech Month.
3. Recognize the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
4. Name courthouse after Thurgood Marshall.
5. Name courthouse after James L. Watson.
6. Name post office after Jonn A. O'Shea.
7. Designate Aug. 7, 2003, as National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
8. Support the goals and ideals of National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
9. Honor the life and legacy of Alexander Hamilton on the bicentennial of his death.
10. Congratulate the Syracuse Univ. Orange Men's Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.
11. Congratulate the Le Moyne College Dolphins Men's Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.
12. Establish the 225th Anniversary of the American Revolution Commemorative Program.
13. Name post office after Sergeant Riayan A. Tejeda.
14. Honor Shirley Chisholm for her service to the nation and express condolences on her death.

15. Honor John J. Downing, Brian Fahey, and Harry Ford, firefighters who lost their lives on duty. Only five of Clinton's bills are, more substantive.
16. Extend period of unemployment assistance to victims of 9/11.
17. Pay for city projects in response to 9/11 18. Assist landmine victims in other countries.
19. Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care.
20. Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico as protected in the wilderness preservation system.
There you have it, the facts straight from the Senate Record.
Now, let's compare that to Obama's Senate record. Unfortunately, the list of his legislative accomplishments is WAY TO LONG, so I'll categorize. During the first 8 years of his elected service he sponsored over 820 bills. He introduced
233 regarding healthcare reform,
25 on poverty and public assistance,
12 crime fighting bills,
97 economic bills,
60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills,
21 ethics reform bills,
5 gun control,
6 veterans affairs and many others.
His first year in the U.S. Senate, Obama authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427. These included **the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 - became law, **The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, - became law, **The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate, **The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, - became law, **The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, In committee, and many more.
In all, since entering the U.S. Senate, Senator Obama has written 890 bills and co-sponsored another 1096.
An impressive record, for someone who supposedly has no record according to Hillary Clinton, who would prefer that this comparison not be made public.
Barack Obama is not just a talker. He's a doer. Just compare how they have managed their campaigns. Hillary dumped all her money and pinned all her hopes on winning the nomination by Super Tuesday. She failed. BAD JUDGMENT. She had no plans beyond that.
Barack Obama out-strategized her, outmanaged her, and out-financed her. His judgment appears impeccable. He OPPOSED the Iraq War. She voted to authorize it. He seems to be a step ahead of her at every turn. That is the kind of brilliance we NEED in the White House.
Oprah said it best: "I'm voting for Barack Obama, not because he is black, but because he is brilliant."
Yes we can!

ATTENTION:
I hope the Obama campaign takes care of this problem. Yesterday on MSNBC, a senator from texas who represented Obama was unable to answer a simple question about the legislative achievements of senator OBama. Chris Matthews, the arrogant punk, kept pushing the senator to tell him atleast one thing OBama had done in the senate and the texas senator did not know any. (Even I could name 5-6 off the top of my head..)
Anyway MSNBC keeps repeating this clip and I hope the OBama campaign sends some one to take care of this before it does any damage.

Reggie,
My concern is not regular people like you and me and other here on BarackObama.com. People who are active on this site generally are aware of the accomplishments of Sen.OBama. But when this senator from texas, who is a supporter of Obama, is unable to name even one accomplishment it provides a huge chance for the Clinton machine to blow it into a big issue. I hope Obama camp sets this record straight with MSNBC...
When this Texas senator was drawing blank, I was shouting out, "tell him about the ethics reform bill, nuclear non proliferation bill, gun control..." there are so many.. but the person who is representing OBama on TV should be able to present the facts...
I hope more people see your post..
Thanks..

Don't worry b/c Chris Matthews did the same thing to Gov Doyle, the Wisconsin gov and he could not name anything, but Obama still won by 17 points. Yes it is true the Chris Matthews never ask Clintons supporters the same question. The truth is the avg American doesn't know about the bills their respective candidates have passed. Most people can't tell you the current policy proposals of either candidate. However, I do agree that the surrogates should know something when going on tv, but that goes to show that people want change now and feel Obama represents that change.
The Clintons are going to be given all the help they can by the media since the media also thought she would be the presumptive nominee. No one wants to admit they are wrong!!

First off, thank you, IBB! Go OH!
Secondly, I'd like to address one of the spin-meisters' more effective yet least accurate ploys, the claim that Barack is all rhetoric and no record, all inspiration and no substance. This is of course ridiculous to anyone who is paying attention, yet too many people aren't paying close enough attention.
So here are a few ways to reply when folks say "Where's the Beef":
The first is to talk about his impressive 25 years of public service, as a community organizer on the south side of Chicago, working to rebuild a struggling inner-city, standing with the members of the community, learning of the problems facing our society from their perspective and effectively addressing them. That gives him deep understanding of the multi-faceted challenges facing our inner-cities, which have suffered for too long and desperately need to be rejuvenated. Barack is the best hope our country has to do so; he truly understands that we are one another's keeper, that when any of us suffer injustice we all are diminished, and he can inspire us as a nation to act to redress the great injustices of our society. His experience as a community organizer led him to law school, where he became the first Black president of the Harvard Law Review, and then to become a civil rights attorney, a constitutional law professor, and a voting rights activist, before becoming a state senator in IL. All of these are incomparable assets in a President, and speak to his ability to address a wide range of challenges facing our nation.
But, impressive as this experience most certainly is, folks sometimes fail to appreciate its magnitude. Instead, they want to hear about his legislative record. So here are a few links to help them gain a better sense of the substantial legislation Barack passed in the IL senate.
One of my favorites is the NYT graph of his legislative record in IL:
Link
. This offers a representation of the more than 800 bills he sponsored in IL, including over 230 concerning heath care, 125 on poverty and public assistance, nearly 100 concerning business and the economy, over 60 on education, and 60 on civil rights.

But the graph fails to give a sense of just how spectacular some of this legislation is. One that stands out is his capital case reform. IL's capital case system was an utter mess; you may have heard of it when Gov. Ryan, a man not widely recognized for his ethical rigor, declared a moratorium on death sentences in 2000, as so many innocent people had been executed. Still, the system remained a mess, and in 2003 Barack was able to bring disparate groups together like the ACLU and the police, as well as Democrats, Independents, and Republicans, to pass legislation that greatly reformed the system, including requiring interrogations to be videotaped to ensure that confessions weren't coerced (see
Link
). As Adam B points out on this issue, "Talk is cheap. What counts is getting substantive progressive reform passed into law, and time and time again, Obama has done it on behalf of groups for whom no one else was fighting." (
Link
)
Another article that discusses Barack's IL legislative accomplishments is
Link
; see also
Link
, http://www.barackobama.com/200 7/03/30/obama_hits_chicago_dur ing_coun.php . and
Link
.
Now, I think it is yet another tremendous asset that Barack has such extensive experience as a state senator. He knows how state legislatures work, and he can better grasp the implications of federal policies on a state level. This will be extremely helpful when he is President. But still some people discount his years in the IL Senate. They want to know what he's done in the US Senate. So here are a few examples of that:
See
Link
to learn about the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act, developed by Senator Obama and Senator Coburn, and signed into law in September of 2006. This bill is an excellent example of Barack's commitment to making the government accountable to the people and epowering the people to hold their government accountable. Via USAspending.gov, the search engine resulting from the FFA&T Act (
Link
), an individual can search all government contracts, grants, earmarks, and loans--WE THE PEOPLE get to see how OUR tax monies are being spent by the government. When someone is trying to cram in some pork, we will know about it; when somebody is trying to give their favorite companies no-bid contracts, we'll know about it--thanks to Senators Obama and Coburn.

Similarly, Barack sponsored the Transparency and Integrity in Earmarks Act (see again
Link
): "The bill would shed light on the almost 16,000 earmarks that were included in spending bills in 2005. Under the bill, all earmarks, including the name of the requestor and a justification for the earmark, would have to be disclosed 72 hours before they could be considered by the full Senate. Senators would be prohibited from advocating for an earmark if they have a financial interest in the project or earmark recipient. And, earmark recipients would have to disclose to an Office of Public Integrity the amount that they have spent on registered lobbyists and the names of those lobbyists." Barack is the one presidential candidate who has made his earmarks public (see
Link
).
Then there's the Lugar-Obama proliferation and threat reduction initiative, signed into law 1/11/07. From
Link
: "Authored by U.S. Sens. Dick Lugar (R-IN) and Barack Obama (D-IL), the Lugar-Obama initiative expands U.S. cooperation to destroy conventional weapons. It also expands the State Department's ability to detect and interdict weapons and materials of mass destruction. 'The Lugar-Obama initiative will help other nations find and eliminate conventional weapons that have been used against our own soldiers in Iraq and sought by terrorists all over the world,' said Obama."
Barack has also done impressive work on ethics and lobbying reform. From
Link
: "In the first two weeks of the 110th Congress, Senator Obama helped lead the Senate to pass the Legislative Transparency and Accountability Act, a comprehensive ethics and lobbying reform bill, by a 96-2 vote. This landmark bill was signed into law by the President in September 2007. Most importantly, the final reform bill contained a provision pushed by Senator Obama to require the disclosure of contributions that registered lobbyists "bundle" - that is, collect or arrange - for candidates, leadership PACs, and party committees. The New York Times called this provision "the most sweeping" in the bill, and the Washington Post said: "No single change would add more to public understanding of how money really operates in Washington.
"In January 2006, Senator Obama laid the groundwork for the reform package that the Senate eventually adopted a year later. He started building a coalition for reform by helping to author the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act introduced with 41 Democratic sponsors."

OK, OK, people might say, but all I hear about is hope and change. What exactly does he mean by change? Well, he gives an excellent answer in his Blueprint for Change. It outlines where Barack stands on the challenges facing our nation and how he will meet those challenges as President. It was critical in winning over many undecideds and those who had been leaning towards other candidates here in Iowa. It shows just how laughable the claim is that he has no substance. Folks here were amazed by how comprehensive it is--and it's just an outline! The Blueprint for Change, as well as thorough discussion of other issues, can be found here:
Link
.
After considering all these facets of Barack's experience and substance, some people may still not be won over. But that should be because they disagree with him. And that's fair enough. I myself don't agree with him 100% of the time; I don't agree with anyone 100% of the time. But I feel that Barack is listening 100% of the time and he especially considers the perspective of those who hold differing views, and again that's critical in a President.
But those who claim Barack lacks experience are either ignorant or they have a rather narrow and artificial understanding of experience. And as Barack has pointed out, there are few folks in government who are more "experienced" than Cheney or Rumsfeld. And look where that's gotten us.
Barack has the RIGHT experience, the better judgment, and the expansive vision that we so desperately need in a President. He truly is change we can believe in; his lifetime of honoring his words with action testifies to that.

Hillary Clinton spoke this morning at Hunter College in NYC and an excerpt of her speech shown on television had her mention this following line:"...you cannot discuss family values without valuing families..." That line was used by Senator John Kerry at the 2004 DNC in Boston. Look up the transcript of his speech to confirm. Someone should ask Senator Kerry if he gave her permission to use his words. If not, then Clinton has plagiarized.

There is going to be more stuff like this as the opposition gets more desperate.
The guys email address is there and I wrote to him - I also plan to send a Letter to the Editor.
Here's what I sent to the guy.
Your column in the Dallas Morning News regarding the so called bad week for Sen Obama's campaign seemed to be more of how you wanted the week to be viewed by others rather than how it really was. Obama did not admit to "theft" of anything - he said it was no big deal because borrowing from a friend with their consent is not stealing . Thankfully the voters in Wisconsin agreed emphatically.
As to your assertion that Mrs Obama said she was never proud of her country - total hogwash. If that were the case she would not have used the adverb "really" she would have have simply said "This is the first time in my adult life that I have been proud ..." The adverb "really" changes the meaning by adding emphasis and allows for lesser degrees of the sentiment to be true. e.g. If I say "This is the first time I have been really hungry" it does not mean that I've never been hungry, it means that it the first time that I have been "very hungry" or "extremely hungry". Plus, she was speaking about the political process in our country not about our country as a whole. More importantly the voters in Wisconsin emphatically disagreed with your cheap political parlor tricks.
I don't know where you bias comes from but you need to distinguish between the way things are and the way that you wish they were. The former is called reality and the latter is called fantasy. A dose of the former would make your columns less like works of fiction.

Obama 1,168
Clinton 1,008
Unallocated: 53 (27-26 split expected for Obama)
Anything above 150 is a decisive lead. We have more than 160, a 7.35% lead on allocated VOTED delegates.

Hillary's inability to show humility |

Feb 20th 2008 at 1:36 pm EST
As one matures, a person needs to be able to show humility. Showing humility is not a bad thing. It's a sign that you understand that life and the circumstances that surround it are profound yet educating. If you've never been down and out before how can you appreciate the good times? Showing a bit of humility can go a long way.
She talks about her '35 years of experience' and yet to this very day I still ask myself, WHO IS HILLARY CLINTON? I have read and seen everything about her and yet I still can't get to the core of who she is. With Obama, I connected with him instantly. He comes across as a person who you could just talk to for hours. He's real and genuine. I don't feel that when I see or hear Hillary.
She comes off as unreal and not genuine. It's like she's acting. People want to know that there's a connection between the President and themselves. They need to know that a President can feel their agony, pain, and happiness. Barack has brought so many people together because he's real. He's been up, he's been down, he's been humiliated, he's been proud.
You can see all of those qualities from him every single day. There is no elitest attitude coming from Barack. He's a common guy just like his supporters trying to make an extraordinary mark on the world. He's not out for power, he is EMPOWERING the citizens of this country. He's giving back the beauty of this country which has been tarnished for over a decade. America deserves a fresh start. Barack is that fresh start.

I liked your comment about him being a person you could talk with for hours. If I were shut up in a blizzard-snowed-in cabin with Hillary, I feel like I would wind up taking a walk after about and hour and half. With Barack, I feel we could have some really good conversation and I feel the same way about Michelle.

It's not a matter of combatting this type of behavior and attacks. It speaks volumes about Clinton's character. If our citizens are paying attention, they will band together behind Senator Obama and put an end to this type of behavior by our politicians. Let's help them pay attention. Let's not reward this unethical self-serving behavior ever again.
Let her behavior work for us by throwing our support to Barack by electing him President of OUR United States. Don't whine about this on the site, do something positive to make it backfire on her.

Sandra,
I just responded to the e-mail I received from you about me calling you a troll. I apologized if there was any mix-up, without knowing what post you were talking about.
Now that I've found this, I am still confused. I refer here to a link above that goes to what I said it does, a link that was initially posted by a troll, and go out of my way to say the person posting here is not a troll.
So, no, i never had any of your messages deleted - not that i'm aware of, certainly not in this thread which is where you are accusing me of it. I do not know what links you are talking about in your note here, but they are not the ones I referenced. I always check a person's profile before making accusations.
And, though I have only been on this blog for several weeks, I have been supporting Barack Obama since 2004.
So. please, take your own admonishment to heart and do not attack me for something that I don't even see that I have done. And again, if there is a mixup in whose post I responded to in another thread here, I am sorry. I had to have the troll's comments removed 5 times today; and i have seen others by him that others have called him out on - but there are still more, and I could not just keep chasing this guy around the threads by myself.
I do admit that maybe it is problematic that in some of the threads I saw him in, i did respond to the first response under him so people could recognize his post for what it is before going through dozens of responses to it. if i simply respond to the actual post, it would put this alert way at the bottom. But I still think it is a good practice.
I am sure if you have had a long presence here, nobody is going to misconstrue an attached message that is directed at the original poster.
My best to you, and all Obama supporters.

"machine" better yet, the "Clinton Machine."
However, I need your help to make my gold. I have been posting my fundraising campaign for a while, and it has done wonderful. But just a few hundred dollars away from my gold I am at a stand still. Please help me with my gold. Here is the Challenge. I make 1-call per $1!
So, if you send me $5, I make 5-calls for you outside of the calls I am making myself. Texas and Ohio is just 2-weeks away and these calls are going to be important. The extra dollar just motivates me to do more.
I think we can do it. Please give to my fundraising site:

The worst thing Obama could do is cede the moral highground to Hillary. 527's are a scourge on the electoral process. The only thing to do is aggressively defend yourself from attacks. But you should never stoop to your opponent's level.

"O'Reilly then stated:
O'REILLY: You know, I have a lot of sympathy for Michelle Obama, for Bill Clinton, for all of these people. Bill Clinton, I have sympathy for him, because they're thrown into a hopper where everybody is waiting for them to make a mistake, so that they can just go and bludgeon them. And, you know, Bill Clinton and I don't agree on a lot of things, and I think I've made that clear over the years, but he's trying to stick up for his wife, and every time the guy turns around, there's another demagogue or another ideologue in his face trying to humiliate him because they're rooting for Obama.
That's wrong. And I don't want to go on a lynching party against Michelle Obama unless there's evidence, hard facts, that say this is how the woman really feels. If that's how she really feels -- that America is a bad country or a flawed nation, whatever -- then that's legit. We'll track it down."
This is outrageous. I will also be contacting Fox News and protest this horrible choice of words - and words matter.

Obama will meet with Teamster President James P. Hoffa in Austin, Texas, on Wednesday. The endorsement is expected to come soon thereafter, said the officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the planned formal announcement.
The Teamsters represent 1.4 million members.
Union support will be key in the Democratic primaries in the next few weeks, particularly in Ohio on March 4 and Pennsylvania on April 22. Ohio and Pennsylvania have some of the nation's largest number of union workers, with more than 15 percent of the work force unionized in Pennsylvania and just over 14 percent in Ohio.
The Democratic presidential contenders have lobbied hard for the Teamster endorsement because of the power the union wields through its fundraising for Democratic candidates and get-out-the-vote programs. The Teamsters gave more than $2.2 million to Democrats in federal races in 2004. They have given more than $24 million to Democratic election causes since 1989, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
The endorsement from the Teamsters is Obama's fourth from organized labor in a week. The 65,000-member International Brotherhood of Boilermakers endorsed Obama on Wednesday, the 1.9-million member Service Employees International Union backed the Illinois senator last Friday, and the smaller United Food and Commercial Workers endorsed him last Thursday.
Rival Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton by far has a larger number of unions in her corner with 12 endorsements from unions affiliated with the AFL-CIO — the nation's largest labor federation — and the United Farm Workers from the rival Change To Win labor federation.
But Obama also has one AFL-CIO union in his corner — the Transport Workers Union. He also has the backing of the independent National Weather Service Employees Organization. And with a Teamsters endorsement, he will have four Change To Win unions in his corner: the Teamsters, SEIU, the United Food and Commercial Workers and UNITE HERE, who gave Obama his first national endorsement from a union.

Aloha Obama Supporters,
The Chinese believes the number 8 is good luck. Hawaii’s area code is 808, so it will be lucky for Sen. Barack Obama. In this tradition, let’s make a donation of $8 on my personal fundraising page so Barack will have good luck in Texas and Ohio on March 4th and the debate tomorrow.

My personal fundrasing page has been so slow today. =( I have been working hard to raise much needed funds for Sen. Barack Obama. I'm still energized by his landslide victory here in Hawaii.
I humbly ask for your support with a donation. No donation is too small.
Help me surpass my goal.
