Report Objectionable Content
Apparently, today was a slow news day.
So Fox News evidently decided to pore through our millions of user-created pages on
My.BarackObama.com
and put a screenshot of inflammatory content on the front page of FoxNews.com.
You see, more than 700,000 people have created accounts on the system. You can create one right now if you choose, in about a minute -- anyone can.
Now, from time to time people get up to no good -- creating fake profiles (like
one for Sean Hannity
created today), or posting profane or inappropriate content. When they do, the community reports the offending content and if it violates our
terms of service
it is removed (as the Sean Hannity profile was).
My.BarackObama.com
has been at the core of our bottom-up organizing strategy. The tools available have been put to work by a community of supporters that is bigger and more powerful than anything presidential politics has ever seen.
Evidently, Fox News didn't think it was a big deal that hundreds of thousands of ordinary Americans are participating in the democratic process creating groups and local events in communities all across the country.
But they did think it was a big deal that one random person on the Internet, without the knowledge of the Obama campaign, posted a profile in the system with the image of the New Black Panther Party on it.
When we were alerted of the existence of this page, we pulled it down. Yet even after we pulled the page, Fox News continues to disingenuously and prominently feature this "story" on their homepage.
If you have feedback for Fox News, you can email
foxnewsonline@foxnews.com
.

I have no doubt that it was someone from the Fox Noise community or Team Clinton that page.
Obama supporters are passionate, but decent and respectful. We rarely even use profanity.
It's always pretty clear to me who the evil-doers are.

just e-mailed them. thanx. Since anyone can create a profile, that means anyone can get up to no good and try to create a story out of thin air--it would suck to lose the freedom to post to people who would use it to do harm (the 'evil-doers' if you will) But I think at this juncture in our history as a website, we must yield to the common good and each have to give urine and blood samples and submit to a full background check to be able to create a profile.

I wouldn't be surprised if FOX created the page and then reported on it. Did anyone notice that Obama is under fire because Rev. Wright said 9/11 was the fault of America but McCain isn't under fire despite the fact that he worked hard to get into the late Jerry Falwell's good graces in 2006 and Jerry Falwell blamed 9/11 on AMERICANS!
Link
McCain knew Falwell had blamed Americans before he courted and became pals with Falwell.
Link
Why do you think the press gives McCain a pass? Is it because of race? Read about it here:

I happened to switch on Hannity and Colmes tonight just to get my blood pressure up, and I saw one of the guests giving Sean Hannity a really hard time. He mentioned the name of Hal Turner to Sean Hannity and you could tell that Hannity got real uncomfortable with the mention of his name. I googled Hal Turner and was amazed at the articles written about him. He is a Nazi sympathizer nut case that Hannity embraced for many years. He was even a member of Pat Buchanans campaigns. I know I shouldn't but I sent one of the articles to every major news outlet. I am so angry at Hannity I can't stand it. I had to do something. Google it and see for yourselves.

Please let us know of anything else you find out about Sean Hannity. He is a racist criminal and FOX is NOT a legitimate news network.

The OBAMA NATION should boycott FOX news and affiliated stations, internet medium. For God's sake, show your democratic muscles. For all the racism in America, I wish Mr. Obama runs for prime ministership here in Canada. Canadians would love to have him in a heart-beat. Sean Hannity did the same (not as bad) to Huckabee, because he was in the way of his Mitt Romney, that he had wanted to win.Never had one bad thing to say about his prefect Mitt Romney. He ripped Huckabee apart with anything he could find. It was all over Huckabee's site to STOP watching Fox News, and what Sean Hannity was doing. How Hannity's radio show would never Huckabee supports threw to mack any comments. Now I know he is not a Mccain fan either, but he is now pushing for Romney to be his VP, so now he thinks he can do the same thing to Obama, and HRC will be an easier target to go up against.

I always start to put together this elaborate email to counterpoint every argument he makes. I am baffled how people can follow him. In fact, I believe what he says on a daily basis is far worse than what Jeremiah Wright said on that one day. But I will say this good thing about Hannity and the likes of him. My President Obama supporters,
Please, please stop worrying about, CNN, "Pox" news, MSN, ABC, bogus pollsterS, pundits, Sean Hannity, Hillary Clinton, etc. Just keep your eyes on the prize. I've told you before God is in control of this movement. Can't you see how people around the world view President Obama - do you think that so may people could be wrong. We know a good thing when we see it.
Look at the Canadians, your next door neighbours and what they are saying about Obama.
I am from Jamaica and I am on your blog everyday. I have listened to you and have not turned on to CNN, "Pox" news, et al.
OBAMA is the next President of the USA. From Jamaica and the rest of the world, people are exercising more faith and hope that the American people will exercise the right judgment in sending Barack Obama to the White House and that is what the Americans will do in November because from where I sit HC does not stand a chance in securing the nomination.
Continue to exercise good judgment as being exercised by your candidate, Sen. Barack Obama and everything will be just fine. Here in Jamaica we are learing from him how to run a firt-class campaign not just for election purposes but for everything.
You guys are going to take Pennsylvania big time. Mark my words. Remember Texas & Ohio were the big firewalls; well, those have been burnt to the ground; it is the same way HC's firewall in Pennsylvania will be burnt to the ground. The people of Pennsylvania and the others states are not fools. Be vigilant at the precincts to ensure no Hanky Panky is taking place.
LOVE YA.

I like obama the way he has run his presidential campaign but i do not like how Hillary run her campaign without respect and diginity with those kitchen and sink strategy, only in her head there is 'les take back the white house' Instead of what she will do for Americans. I don't know how presidents in other countries will continue to treat their opposition parties in aproper way when Hillary is on power, i think they will use those kitchen and sink strategy to confuse in order to stay on power as long as they like. I had nothing against Cooper until he interviewed Obama and then after the interview went on to question his credibility. Now I realize that Cooper is just another guy who wants controversy. Even if he has a personal problem with the comments, it is clearly not the job of a journalist to express an opinion so blatantly unless it is strictly labelled as op-ed. In fact, I am coming to the conclusion that all news stations have now become opinion editorials. Just take a look at "real clear politics". I go there on a frequent basis, but there is no such thing as investigative journalism anymore.

After glancing at the Events section, I decided to host a Debate Watching party at a local lounge since there were none in my city. I joined groups like Jersey City for Obama and Hudson County for Obama, added friends (similar to MySpace) and invited them to the party. About 20 Obama supporters (and their friends and family who supported other candidates) from the area showed up. We exchanged our stories & contact numbers, shared food & drinks, watched the debate and had a great time discussing it afterwards. Later, when I went to a Results Watching party at Obama's Jersey City office, I saw one of the women from the debate get-together and ran into my grandfather's cousin. I met the mayor and signed up to volunteer. My.BO is a great site which brings together the community and helps to get an apathetic population interested in politics again.

Everyone,
PLS DO NOT CALL, WRITE OR EMAIL FAUX NEWS.
These are your options should you want to see real results:
Do not watch them=cannot count your household among their viewing audience.
Do not visit their website=cannot register the hit for internet advertising.
Use the only language they understand=not spending your hard earned money on products they advertise or with program sponsors.
PLS CALL AND EMAIL THEIR SPONSORS AND ADVERTISERS INSTEAD.
Follow the money!
Sponsors forget that we have MANY choices available to us for just about any product. US CHOOSING not to purchase from them is a simple choice that can be made in a split second.
Either way, it amounts to money spent with the competition.
Let advertisers reflect on that!
The money will get them every single time.

We should contact FOX News sponsors and put pressure on them, and tell them that we are very upset that they are supporting a station that spews such hatred.
Advertisers always cave to public demand...especially when they know that a boycott of their products means a plummet in sales and profit.

The only thing that hannity want to do is destroy OBAMA Iwish with all my heart that sen. OBAMA turns this issue around in a possitive way. Fox should be using the airwaves to create more divisions and hate in this country. What I like about sen. OBAMA is that he doesn't run away from the problem and that the type of president that we need a person that could talk about race with out hurting anyone.I am hispanic and I ASK MY SELF THIS ? what if the white people were the ones that had to live under that same oppression for so many years. What if this had to happen to OBAMA so the country could move beyond race. Is SHAWN HANNITY affraid to have a black president?

Ishara,
I agree that we should not *watch* Fox news, we can find out through other legitimate sources what they're up to -
But the campaign has asked us to email Fox News so I just did. We can stuff their inbox and cause administrative work at the least, we've actually seen good results by doing this with CNN and other outlets.
I'm pretty sure it was the swift email blast from bloggers here that caused CNN to change tied counties on their electoral map to black, rather than count them for HRC(!!).

I personally believe that Fox news does us a great service - they wear out the damaging stories by playing them over and over until people no longer want to see them or care, they behave as if they are the sole possessers of right thinking in the universe and they stoop to levels not exceptable in real news journalistic circles. They lie and shout to drown out their own talkshow guests to make irresponsible points and they create stories from thin air with no care for who they damage.
To their own demise, they do all this with the intent of defeating the Democrats - but instead cause the Democrats to circle the wagons and reinforce their weakened battle lines.
They think they are changing people's minds, but they are only re-enforcing the ignorance and negativism held by people that wouldn't vote for a Democrat in the first place.
Fox is our ally, because in their idiotic attacks and hate mongering they strengthen our resolve and Barack's message of logic, honor and hope for change rings clearer.

They have absolutely NOthing else to do, except attempt to sow doubt into a campaign that has the numbers on it's side! No sense in fretting at all. It's all part of the game. It's Hillary's turn to spin this as much as possible and the press is going to turn on her as soon as they think she has the upper hand. It's not personal, LOL....just politics! LOL

I am totally disgusted with the way that Rev Wright is being treated by the media. His sermon, although delivered in a rather fiery tone, had some valid points. After 9/11, we could have examined our foreign policies and tried to figure out why certain people in the world hate us. It could have made a huge difference in how things turned out! For example, most Americans now believe that we should not have gone into Iraq. Well, going into Iraq is pretty much the opposite of what Rev Wright was advocating. I believe that Rev Wright wants Americans to take responsibility for our actions of the past, and to not assume that war is the answer for rooting out evil in the world. What is so wrong about this?

Told them more, it was a long letter but ended with "Please disregard this, and laugh it off as just another crackpot! That's your way of justifying what you do!" Well, it made me feel better! I haven't watched them ever on a regular basis but when, on occasion I have tuned in they are so out of touch with reality on so many issues and stories that I can't watch them! Senator Obama has literally been invisible and blocked out without any favorable or positive appearances on all of the so called news channels. I've been boycotting them all since January. Think about it, when was the last time that appeared on any of the networks other than the debates ??? The only time that they will mention anything about him, it has been something negative. This campaign is getting them ratings also when people tune in. So when they throw in divisiveness don't tune in. Even the New York Times is changing it's tune. They were big supporters of HRC and now they are equally writing about BHO.

Explain your reasons in the very tone that Fox fails to use: respectful, courteous and accurate. Allow the advertisers to witness that Obama supporters are intelligent, complex and thoughtful.
Let them know that we are capable of uniting to reduce the effectiveness of their advertising budgets by failing to use their products and services. News not propoganda is our expectation!

It is just disgusting to know that Hillary and the media will do anything to get her elected.
But the urine, blood screen and background check was a good one. I'm sure that if the media glances at the HRC whitehouse papers they will find more than enough scandals to write about. I have noticed that everytime HRC or the media call Barack out front and center in order to downplay him, he is always lifted up. They haven't realized that they are the one's that are lifting him up in votes and we are lifting him up in spirit. That's why she is so far behind in delegates right now, worried about what we're doing over here in our campaign and not paying enough attention to her own. After he campaigns and stumps they always play the song "your love keep lifting me higher". They love Barack too, they just want HRC to win. So to the media and the HRC spys out there keep on lifting us because you'll never catch up.

Fellow Barack Supporters,
Our problem is that the so called leadership of the Democratic party are showing no courage and endangering all of us in the process. Shouldn't every Democratic leader and superdelegate be adopting and commiting to work on Barack's vision of achieving true racial reconciliation through realistic review, acceptance and movement forward with a focus on our joint interest as democrats no matter what race, religion, etc.
Their silence is deafening. Let's insist they speak up or warn them that they will bear the consequences.
To show how ridiculous their silence is, I just read an article through a link here saying Hillary is using the Rev. Wright matter to argue to them about Barack's unelectibility.
It is the job of the leadership of the Democratic party to make sure that cannot happen and there is no way they should even listen to such an argument. In fact, they should be exposing via tape recording every word Hillary or her supporters say remotely making this argument.
Remember Hillary's words to the press: You haven't vetted him. Well, all they came up with was 60 seconds of his Rev. words and loose allegations regarding Rezko. However, look at the timing and the use. Why now and only now...as she claims she has not written off the black vote.

I agree with you 100%, Shelley. I've been writing respectful letters and e-mailing Dean (especially when he asks me for money), Pelosi, and various superdelegates for reconciliation of this farce. However, in this morning's local newspaper our regional volunteer leader for Obama (about 200 supporters in the group) was quoted as saying "the Obama campaign does not want people e-mailing superdelegates." Huh. Too late for me; oops. I think he's wrong but I've been trying to get an answer from busier-than-busy HQ before I confront the leader on the quote. It's possible the reporter misquoted and it's also possible he meant just our district's one and only superdelegate, Mike Thompson. Has anyone else heard this? I don't want to step on an organizer's toes.

There are some bad precedents that will come back to haunt the Republicans if they continue in encouraging the unlawful fixing of elections- they are undermining our country in a profound way.
If this is not dealt with- their primary system is far more vulnerable with winner take all early. It runs the potential of producing candidates on both sides who are not great leaders- let's all sabotoge each other and get the worst on the ballots????
We must somehow get through to McCain as he is far more reasonable than others to put an end to this- He was quick to denounce behavior called to his attention -he turned around and got back on stage angering a major supporter who has a lot of influence on voters.
I doubt McCain is able to keep up with all of this- so I would add appeals to McCain and patriotism- people died for the right to vote- and these people are trampling on it.
I understand ignorance about ethnic issues and racism in our society - but deliberately sabotoging our vote having meaning is about as unpatriotic as you get.
Based on these actions-McCain would not get a default non HRC vote. I will not vote for any candidate who so undermines our laws. We will win if it takes a write in, but I refuse any tampering with my right to vote.
For the same reason, I understand the superdelegates- they should not end HRC's campaign if enough legitimate voters want her to stay. Her negativity is her downfall and the demand for documents and lack of them is coming to light finally.
Obama ended up with an audience of people who usually do not hear his speeches because of the Wright controversy- Listen to the republicans who changed their vote to him after that speech or said they would not mind if their candidate lost and Obama wins. People in HRC country are talking about the greatness of Obama
Fox is desparate and on the run.
Its all about letting the electoral process involve us for once(which is why they should have dealt with Florida and Michigan long ago)
We need to stop these people from casting ballots for a candidate they do not want simply to rig the election- its illegal and we need an outcry- Ohio is reviewing this but its not major news

Based on your previous posts, seems like the kind of thing you would produce. Did I miss it?

Everyone,
PLS DO NOT CALL, WRITE OR EMAIL FAUX NEWS.
Let advertisers/sponsors reflect on that!

Per Sam's instructions, I sent an email to Fox News. Here it is:
Haven’t you had enough of the division in this country? Where is your character? You know, for people who claim to be patriots and claim to love America, you sure seem to enjoy tearing us down. We are begging you to get past this issue. We are begging you to help us rather than hinder us in our progression towards a better America. While you may have a favorite candidate, is it not possible to promote your own without tearing down another, and his race, and his beliefs, and his stance? I get it, ok. I get that, just like Reverend Wright, you have the “mike.” But, in the words of a famous American, “with great power, comes great responsibility.” Do the responsible thing and help create common sense dialogue rather than an ignorant war. Senator Obama, while imperfect, always manages to rise above gutter journalism. Can’t you?

Set up an Obama piggy bank in your home and when friends/ fellow supporters come over ask them to make a donation (You can also do this when you have Obama events or group meetings). The donations to the Piggy Bank (mine is a coffee can) can be the kind that jingles or the kind that folds. And every time you get to $5+ put it in the bank and make a donation.
Most of Obama's donations have been less than $100 so these small amounts really help.

I'm new to the site, however, I have been an Obama supporter from the beginning.
I would just like to say, in my opinion, many people are backing Obama because he is fresh and speaks of the kind of change that everyone is so hungry for right now. A politician that is caring, honest, intelligent, powerful, wants to bring the people and their government back together and is willing to work in transparency. Wow! Now, however, we are hearing that he isn't so perfect and that he has lied to the people, worse than that, he doesn't like white people or America!
He can't possibly unite people when he is so full of hate, nor will he be honest with all of these lies coming to the surface.
I would urge Obama to come clean with anything else that may be out there that Clintons people may dig up. Any little thing. Continue to speak from the heart and be truthful regarding the reason he stayed with a Reverend that was so full of passion regarding the issues he spoke of. I am hearing people say they are very dissapointed in him for deceiving the people who put so much trust in him. And now they find out what his church, that he has belonged to for 20 years, actually stands for. Educate the people Obama, let them hear you explain what your church stands for, show some uplifting clips from service, apoligize for any hurt this may have caused the people, be honest no matter what it may cost, ( I see Obama supporters falling by the wayside now, if they could see the person who they were behind come back so would they) We need something just as big to bring us back as we had that took us down. He, once again, has to show that he is not like everyone else who is running and he will create a government of change and transparency. Uniting the people, in this country and out, like only he can do.
I pray that he will find a way to redeem himself with the people because this country needs him, we need him.

My letter to Fox:
Greetings!
I am writing in response to the story found here. I have to tell you, I find this kind of news repugnant.
Just as with the Reverend Wright story, you focus on a small, sensational aspect, inflating its importance to make it 'newsworthy', yet completely miss the big picture.
Anyone could have created and posted that endorsement you put in the news, from an actual member of the Black Panther Party, to one of Hillary Clinton or John McCain's supporters hoping to damage Sen. Obama's chances for the presidency, to even someone at Fox News trying to stoke the fires of the ratings furnace. Believe it or not, that's the beauty of the Obama campaign website.
Try as you might, you won't be able to find any similarly sensational content on Hillary Clinton's website. That's because her forums are HEAVILY moderated; no
undesirable content has a chance to be posted, let alone be put on the news. On the Clinton website, there is no dissent, no debate; Only good things about Hillary, and only negative things about her opponents, if anything at all.
BarackObama.com is a place where anyone can post their ideas, and come together to share information. I've even seen some Clinton supporters posting comments, questions, and engaging in (usually!) civil debates with the resident posters there.
The freedom on the Obama forums reflects one of the key messages of the campaign and the Movement that has propelled it ahead of the Clinton machine: Respect, Empower, Include. That, ladies and gentlemen, is what you should be reporting on.
Many thanks for your consideration,
~Sir Geshko

Dont get distracted. Fox is intellectually bankrupt. Their American Taliban right wing supporters cant bankrupt America fast enough.
As with any feeble and infirm being that is under attack from the harsh reality of a world of reality they scream more from fear rather than logic.
All of us need to ask every (conservative) just exactly what it is they are conserving.
It isnt our civil rights.
It isnt the security of our borders and our nation.
It isnt our jobs or our financial future.
It isnt the promise of equal opportunity.
It isnt our credibility in the eyes of the world.
And, its isnt our soverignty as we mortgage our country but ever increasing debt such democratic nations as China.
Fox defined is nothing more that a myopic spin rag with no intellectual integrity.
Conservatives defined. A group of misguided, myopic, fixated but still not violent equivalent of the Taliban.

At this point, I am assuming that everything originates with Team Clinton and is voiced at Fox. Kind of ironic that fox is now her mouthpiece. I'm starting to believe she actually is more conservative than McCain. I think Fox is too. Murdoch has already hosted fundraisers for her in the past. I guess Clinton believes the enemy of your enemy is your friend.
She apparently still thinks she can steal this election. But you can't steal a movement owned by more than a million people. God Bless Barack. God Bless America.

BE HEALTHY!
First thing's first. Fox is NOT a news channel. They use the word "news" to validate their content, to suggest a respectability they don't have. SO, a great start? Let's all start framing them for what they are. Refer to them as the "Fox entertainment channel" or "Fox variety channel". They take wholesale propaganda, add heaps of provocative theater, and throw in a smattering of news to legitimize calling their poisonous pablum news. You know how total sugar beverages throw in some vitamin C, or say 8% fruit juice, so they can suggest it's good for you? Well, Fox throws in 8% news, so they can suggest all their unhealthy crap is news. Let's be smart, and try to NEVER connect the words "Fox" and "news" together.
And get it. O'reilly KNOWS he's a bastard. It's all for show. He gets in peoples faces, and tears people apart, because being provocative that way gets people to WATCH. Sure, these are weak, lost, shallow, angry viewers with a LONG road of growing and healing ahead of them. But sickly, that's his nitche. It's very sad, but that's how he got RICH. He sold his soul, manipulating peoples lostness and otherwise worst traits, for cash, and he doesn't care.
Don't get angry. Don't get sucked in. Don't let it get the best of you. There's a wise quote: Choose your enemies very carefully, because that's what you'll become. Don't be a wall. Let their BS pass through you, like wind. Dismissively call them madness incarnate, angry comedy, psychotic theater, and go about your good healthy business.
Love & All Good Things,
Greg

That's a sad commentary on part of Clinton supporters. The destructive interference of our Obama web community either came from Fox Noise or Team Clinton. As we all know Hillary sets the tone for her campaign as does Barack for his. And when she continues to dumpster-dive and take cheapshots she sets an example for her supports to stoop as low as the Republican hate network. Hillary's a major disapointment for all Democrats.

Everybody,
Let's use this as an opportunity. In weeks just before Ohio and Texas I saw Fox News adopt the Rush Limbaugh strategy when the Clintonistas started to play the race card heavy.
No one here is realizing that this happened when Hillary had the Mexican activist Adelfa Callejo go on TV to assert how Blacks use Browns to fulfill "their goals" and Barack's problem is that he is black. Ever since Hillary has been making this argument to the superdelegates and Foxnews has been helping because it is easier to destroy Barack with a racist attack from here beccause their own attack would not have much credibility.
Tie this all to Clinton. Spread the word and draw the comparisons.
While we're at it question Clinton's contant showing of a complete lack of integrity and honor.
Clinton engaged in a con jog with FL and MI with everyone and is now executing the back up plan she always had. Every politician knows that simple name recognition is more than half the game so by staying on the ballot while getting everyone to agree not to campaign Hillary was using a set up.
She needs to be called out and refused. Why should MI and FL get to have a reward for replacing IOWA and New Hampshire when, as a matter of honor, the party and its members AND ALL ITS OTHER STATES stuck to their commitment to IOWA and New Hampshire. I mean, truly, the gall of Butter fly Ballot Fl is unbelieveable.
Let the people of all the other states rather than the party, pundits or candidates be outraged by this bull.

I can't stand Rush Limbaugh and I won't ever watch H&C again after seeing it for the first time a few nights ago. My husband says it's good to know what the "enemy" is up to, but I just can't listen to that counterproductive type of reporting. It would nice to see fairness from the MSM in their reporting! HRC has the backing of the "old political arena"...Barack has us, "the people". Let's keep supporting, encouraging and uplifting one another to get our nominee elected President.

I don't believe that Barack understood just how dirty the Clintons play. He was hoping for a clean and fair election and they have never been involved in such a thing. Too bad he did not research all of the campaign's they have been in over the years, he then would have had a heads up.
I believe the Clintons are behind every single negative news report that has come out, and it is very helpful when you have half of the news stations in your pocket.
Regarding the Fl and Mi primary's. It wasn't fair the first time and it would not be a fair vote the second time. I live in Michigan and know that alot of people voted for McCain or not at all since Hillary was the only democrat on the ballot. If they let us vote again, those people will not be allowed to vote, how can that be considered fair by anyone's standards?
I also have written the news, press and governor regarding this issue, to date, no response from anyone.

Hi my name is Roger, I just donated $10.00 for Barack. I know it isn't much but I give as much as possible.
I am 54 years old and I am disabled. So as I am on a fixed income my resources are limited.
I was born with cerebral palsy so I am concerned about Social Security. I trust Barack he is a good man. I only feel this about him and not the other candidates,
It pains me to see the attacks against him. But I expect that as Barrack will truly make a difference. People of power are fearfulo of change and they fear the grassroot movent. The people of America speaking truth to power and barack is our conduit.
I challenge all you to match my $10 donation if you can and Gob Bless you all.

My nephew has cerebral palsy and he had to have a kidney transplant. He is 12. I worry about his health care every day. His parents have a good plan but it is very costly. His many prescriptions are also very expensive. I believe that Obama will work to lower the cost of health care so that families don't go bankrupt trying to pay medical bills.
You have inspired me to donate again today.

Roger ,
I am on disability fixed income. I am a 51 year old white guy that thinks Barack Obama is exactly what this country needs at this point in our history. I have only donated a total of $55 to this campaign , but as you know , in my world ,thats allot of money.
I will be donating a little out of each check , all the way to the White House.
I can really do the phone banking because , i am also hard of hearing.
But i have took part in a couple sign waving events here in Eugene Oregon , and plan on doing more of that.
I also talk to everyone in my life about politics for the first time in my life.
The "moment" for me was when i asked my 73 year old "Republican Sister" if she had been watching the primary's. TEARS rolled down her face as she said........For the second time in my life , i get to cast my vote for a great American , i will PROUDLY cast my vote for Barack Obama. The only other time in her life she voted Democrat was for JFK.
My next mile stone is this Friday night in my home town ( Eugene Oregon ) Barack Obama will be doing a rally here. I will be in that line hours before the doors open.
I believe in Barack and i believe in you.

Being on disability is the bunk but we are lucky and both have good outlooks and taste in our candidates.
I was 10 years old when JFK was taken from us. I remember they closed the schools and I walked home. My Dad was watching the TV and had his webcor recorder on. JFK and RFK were my heroes.
I am a great fan of the 100 best American speeches. Great Americans like FDR,RFK,JFK,Barbara Jordan,MLK and others. And you know what?? Barack will be there with them also.
Have a great time at the rally. I hope Barrack visits Reno. I would not pass up a opportunity to see him for the world. Take care James and good health and a happy life to you.

I've been on here for quit some time now and I notice that many of the earlier bloggers from months ago are no longer here anymore. The conversation use to be so much more positive and mature. I don't want to disrespect any of our supporters, young or old. But sometimes the younger supporters get a little over-zealous and will say anything. During the last sweep, the news spotlighted our blog network and I knew then that we were being watched by the media and asked people to watch what was said. Of course, noone listened and just continued on. Young people, please be mindful of what you say on this blog. In an attempt to defend our guy, we can be inadvertantly hurting him.

My response to fear mongers as emailed to Fox News:
What I simply don't understand is that you continually claim to have "fair and balanced" reporting on your programs. O'Rielly states that the "spin stops here". It is simply appalling. Whether its Reverend Wright comments or messages from this blog, what you do is pick snippets, ones that you can spin to suit your hatred and fear mongering and harp on them over and over and over again. If you were to take the 20 years of sermons of Reverend Wright or the hundreds of thousands of positive blogs on this site, and fairly represent both sides of these stories I might be able to be open minded to your position. Obviously you will never do this, it would wash away your cause with the truth. You are the most twisted, biased "news" channel there is. Don't think I need to understand, or that I am misinformed. I am a proud American. I love this country and it is precisely why I, along with millions of other educated and clear-minded people, are going to take this country back from people just like you. It is why I clearly understand am in no way dillusional about why you are so resistant to this to candidate and to all of us. Why I need no more information about the fact that if the truth and integrity won't help you and people like you maintain your grip on your power, you will resort to deciet and lies and spin that is resonant of lynching. Here is your fatal mistake, you underestimate the power of a people so disregarded by your beloved administration, that together, one voice at a time, across this nation, we will have our country back and there is nothing your fear can do to undermine the mision of a people powered by hope.

Actually there are only about 14 people allowed to post over on the HRC site, so "1st" isn't much of prize. While there are risks to being an open blog where we invite all people and all but profane to blog here, it also allows for dialgue, venting, lifting up, advice resources and yes, our own voices an opportunity to respond to those who contintue to perpetuate hate and fear and resistance to the power of what is happening. I always aim to respond in a way that includes integrity and attempt to pause and remind myself my underlying desire is to perpetuate this campaign, which means that I must even in my sadness and anger, call on the better part of me in my response. My email to Fox News comes from an unwillingness to surrender to fear. I also know that certain ears will never hear what I have to say because they were never open to listening. Eventually, what speaks louder than words, is a win in November.

Barack Obama delivered a speech unlike those given by other politicians in recent times and with it transcended the questions raised against him. He has challenged us, the American people, to rise above the discord of racial prejudice and division and to begin the dialogue that will one day lead to a truly unified people.
Moreover, Barack Obama once again instilled in us the desire to Hope, but also to recognize that this is more than a movement of hope.
This is a movement of understanding, an understanding that a better America, the America of our dreams, can only be achieved through the application of ethical and moral conduct, through the acceptance of our diversity and a willingness to use that diversity for the improvement of us all.

Who to vote for made easy!
Watching from close or from afar, here's the truth. If you watch who the republicans fear the most by their attacks and their resolve against any democratic candidate, they are the one's of choice to be the most credible and formidable foe in the November Presidential Election. The very one that should be voted for by those looking in, that do not posses bias of their own.

Many people are asking why Obama kept going back to his church to hear his pastor rev. Wright.
Well, we can also ask why people keep going back to Faux Nasty News to listen to them.
Why?
Maybe we think that most of the time the stories they tell are good. We don't always agree with them but we still go back to watch TV instead of getting ride of the TV.
Today is Holy Thursda. Today, Catholics all over the world celebrate the day that the Jewish leaders arrested Jesus for a crime that he never committed.
Today is the day that the Jewish leaders had him on trial and planted false evidents against him. They said that Jesus said that he can rebuild the temple in 3 days and by saying that he has blasphemed and the punishment is dead!
Bottom line, they wanted him dead! And on Good Friday, we celebrate the fact that they got what they wanted.... permission to crucify Jesus. They said that his blood be on them and their generation.
But did killing Jesus end there? No, because in dead HE was born again. 3 days later on Easter Sunday, Jesus rose from the dead and became stronger than ever.
Today I am seeing condemnation for Obama and those people who does the condemnation are like the Jewish leaders because they are on TV and the nation listens to them. They are out for blood.
What happen next will tell us if they are successful in what they want to do. Will the wolf in sheeps clothing be able to lead the American people (sheeps)down the wrong path? We will soon find out.
But, no matter what happens, Obama have shown the way that politics should be done in future. He will always be seen as the man who open the eyes of America. The man who took a stand for his own principle.
Jesus said that when you fast do not show that you are fasting because then you will have had your reward on earth.
When I read that, I remember all those "Americans" who think that Obama to should wear a American flag on his lapel to show everybody that he is patriotic. I am a strong believer in Action and I believe that he has SHOWN his patriotism unlike those who just wear an American flag lapel pin.

Continue to take the high road Obama! What I like about Barack is that win or lose he continues to act with dignity and grace. He doesn't want to be president at all costs. Hannity, OReilly, and the rest of the dirty mudslingers at Fox are just showing themselves for who they really are: evil men with evil minds who pretend to be pious and righteous but really only see themselves as the center of the universe. Yesterday, I saw the look of fear in the eyes of OReilly as he talked to his atheist smart-mouth, buddy Dennis Miller...I could see in OReilly's expression that he disagreed with everything Miller had to say about the futility of christianity and religion in general, but bit his toungue instead of standing up for his fellow christians and I will never forget his cowardice.

BE HEALTHY!
First thing's first. Fox is NOT a news channel. They use the word "news" to validate their content, to suggest a respectability they don't have. SO, a great start? Let's all start framing them for what they are. Refer to them as the "Fox entertainment channel", "Fox follies" or "Fox variety channel".
Watching Fox is like eating Spam, it's really pungent and the first few bites can be interesting, but you always wind up feeling kinda sickish, saying "why did I get this?".
Love & All Good Things,
Greg

It is a commonly held belief that we only REACT to things that are within us. This is the meaning behind the phrase “he who doth protest..”. Thus, when I hear self righteous ranting and indignation, on matter what side of the issue it is protesting, I wonder is this another Elliot Spitzer fighting his own demons? Fundamentalism comes in many forms (Islamic, Christian, Nationalism, Patriotism, Terrorism), and they are all dangerous and blind. Life has taught me to listen to the moderate, calm voice for the truth always lies somewhere in between. I have come to realize that how people react says more about them than it does about that to which they are reacting. “We see the world, not as it is, but as we are”, author unknown.

If Fox news really wanted to do its job, it would be out there trying to find out who tried to blow up the military recruiting station at Times Square....you remember, 3:00 a.m. and this guy riding a bike drops a bag in a dumpster and the dumpster which happens to be in front of a miitary recruitment center blows up.
The problem with the entire episode was that Congressional personnel reported that a note had been received from the "terrorists" claiming responsibility for the bombing, only the note was received prior to the actual event. This prompted the Bush administration to say that the note describing the bombing had nothing to do with the actual bombing and that the contents of the note were coincidential. Please I have heard of contrived incidents but this was ridiculous. I am really tired of being manipulated by the Bush administration, Hillary Cllinton with her fake "take over of her New Hampishire campaign office", and many others. Fox reported all of them as fact!

This, at the end, made me feel much better:
"Finally, Mrs. Clinton’s aides hope that disclosures about Mr. Obama’s past like the one involving Mr. Wright could give superdelegates’ pause. Mr. Devine said he thought that at least in terms of Democratic primary voters Mr. Obama had turned the furor to his advantage with his speech on race.
“Obama, confronted by an issue that was boiling, seemed to wade into it with a speech that was in many ways profound,” Mr. Devine said. “As a result, now these people who were so interested and awakened by his candidacy are back with him again. Instead of this being a setback, it becomes an opportunity.”

I prefer Radio Netherlands to BBC--with budget cuts and pressure to be more profitable, they have really slipped.
Also Le Monde has an english version online--though the French sounds better even when the news is bad-- and the pink paper or Financial Times of London has excellent international coverage. In fact they ran many stories in the lead up to the Iraq war which countered the false claims of the Bush administration.

Sponsors forget that we have MANY choices available to us for just about any product. US CHOOSING not to purchase from them is a simple choice that can be mde in a split second decision.
Either way, it amounts to money spent with the compatition.

How easy it was to change the perception of what news is and how we define it. I have found it difficult to find an hours worth of news reporting on any of the three cable news networks that is without commentary and opinion. Are we even aware that this is not straight reporting of the news? Do Wolf Blitzer, Sean Hannity or Joe Scarborough constitute journalists? Would we assign the "Today Show" as news?
If today's "News Networks" want to continue to call themselves as such, then I urge them to report the news, not comment on news as they see it. If they want to change their branding to truthfully represent what they are, as "Opinion" Networks from various left, right, conservative, liberal constituencies, now that would be real straight news indeed.

No, they make up lies and then report them. Remember how we were supposed to be scared that he was a Muslim? And now we're supposed to be scared that he's a Black Liberation Theology Christian? (Well, they certainly don't bother to use that term.) My white working class uncle (who hasn't voted since Reagan, mind you, and is now voting for Obama) identified the attacks best. Up until a few weeks ago, they were smearing him as a Muslim. In a matter of weeks, they switched to radical Christian. (Although Hannity has been pushing both the Muslim and radical Christian narratives at the same time. I guess that's what they call Fair and Balanced.)

Schedules Show Clinton Meetings With Felons
By RUSSELL BERMAN
Staff Reporter of the Sun
March 19, 2008 updated 8:31 pm EDT
WASHINGTON — The release of more than 11,000 pages of schedules from Senator Clinton's time in the White House offer a limited window into her day-to-day activities as first lady, showing that she met not only with world leaders but also with convicted felons who helped her raise cash for her 2000 Senate run.
...
fund-raising schedule Mrs. Clinton kept during her run for Senate in 2000, including several private functions hosted by donors with criminal records at the time or who have since been convicted of felonies. On June 9, 2000, she attended a fund-raiser at the glitzy Spago restaurant in Beverly Hills hosted by Aaron Tonken, who was sentenced in 2004 to five years in prison for mail and wire fraud. Later that same day, the schedules show, Mrs. Clinton attended a fund-raiser at a private California residence where she was introduced by Peter Paul, a Hollywood businessman who was convicted in the 1980s of cocaine possession and of trying to extort $8.7 million from the Cuban government. The Clinton campaign returned a $2,000 check from Paul two months later after initially denying that he had contributed to her campaign.
The schedules also show two appearances Mrs. Clinton made in the fall of 2000 with Denise Rich, the wife of the financier Marc Rich, who received one of Mr. Clinton's most widely-criticized last-minute pardons. Rich had been hiding in Switzerland after being charged with 51 counts of tax fraud, and his wife was a major donor to the Clintons.
...
Senator Obama's campaign seized on a meeting Mrs. Clinton attended in 1993 on NAFTA, an agreement she has criticized during the campaign.
...
The records were released following requests by reporters under the Freedom of Information Act and a lawsuit by the conservative group, Judicial Watch.

Black Guy Asks Nation For Change
"The time for change is now," said the black guy, yelling at everyone within earshot for 20 straight minutes, practically begging America for change. "The need for change is stronger and more urgent than ever before. And only you—the people standing here today, and indeed all the people of this great nation—only you can deliver this change."
After his initial requests for change, the black man rambled nonstop on a variety of unrelated topics, calling for affordable health care, demanding that the government immediately begin withdrawing troops from Iraq, and proposing a $75 billion economic stimulus plan to create new jobs.

Here's Rush Limbaugh's educational history
Limbaugh graduated from Cape Central High School, in 1969. His father and mother wanted him to attend college, so he enrolled at Southeast Missouri State University. But he dropped out after two semesters and one summer; according to his mother, "he flunked everything", even a modern ballroom dancing class. His mother was not entirely surprised. As she told a reporter in 1992, "He just didn't seem interested in anything except radio"

This whole line of blog is really bothersome...
You all are being just as bad as the people you are so upset with.
So far 2 kids have been determined to be racist, people have been called stupid, people have been dissed because their education isn't up to some college level which has been determined to be appropriate by the person starting this blog Re:no...... (whose name I cannot remember at this point).
Have any of you actually listened to anything Barack has said?
Clean up your act. Take the high road. Don't stoop. You are better than this! We obviously have people watching our web site. I'm sure your goal is to upset them, in the process, you have offended me. Your fellow supporter.

This is a crucial turning point for America. Will good prevail? positive, uplifting truth and hope? or will we as dumb, lazy Americans settle for status quo and same old same old? America can save its country and regain its glorious standing, or we can follow the greedy, war-mongering, lobbyist-kissing, back-room shady dealing, slobbering idiots right off the cliffs of sanity.....

This is an indication of how scared the right wing is of this campaign. They are doing anything to divide this party and this campaign. They have "trolls" all over the place, not just on our blog but all over the internet spewing hate. It is meant to make us disgusted, frustrated and just stay home.
They have way too many weeks and no elections in which to make mischief.
Take a breath and keep moving forward. They all heard the speech yesterday and they know how powerful it was...how it moved so many people and if they don't act now, they can't get America back on their agenda of fear. So this is their all our assault.
Don't fret folks. Just keep pushing forward.

I hope this interview is better than the one with Anderson. They picked apart every sentence Obama stated. I didn't like that they broke the interview into many segment and critiqued each segment with a panel. Its like nobody can actual interview him, they must drill and disect him like a frog.....for fear of showing favoritism. Just do your job.....

After Barack's terrific speech, they should be ashamed of themselves. I never watch that channel because their blatantly biased "reporting."
