Sunday Morning CHANGE!!
Let's start healing the nation with a small personal or family action.
Barack repeated that Sunday is the most racial divided day of the week in America.... so in that light...
Join me in the SUNDAY MORNING CHANGE!!!
Attend a Church, Mosque or Temple every Sunday until the April 22nd week, which has a different racial or religious background then your own.
A small step towards healing the nation.
When you are there let the pastor and congregation know that you are there as a Obama supporter helping to heal the nation racial divide.

Barack's speech was excellent. We now know in great detail Barack's plan of action on the war.
It would seem that Hillary's advisors are split about what she would do about the war.
Link
The architect of the surge strategy is one of Hillary's informal advisors. He believes that once Hillary's is in the Oval Office her actions on withdrawal may not be guided by what the HRC campaign would like us to believe today.
The lobbyist firm of her chief campaign advisor, Mark Penn, has Blackwater as a client. There are vested interests in her circle of advisors for maintaining the war longer than she promises.
We certainly know what McCain would do. He has said that we ought to spend 100 more years in Iraq and yesterday has said we should also spend 100 more years in Afghanistan. When asked what we should do about Iran, he has suggested "Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran."

Fellow Obama Supporters here...
Please make a donation to help me honor service men and woman, reach my goal, and add to the momentum of "our" campaign.
My goal ($2195) centers around my husband and his job. He is in the US Army and was born and raised in Goldsboro, NC. Additionally, his last duty station was Ft. Bragg.
I'd like 100 people to donate $21.95 in honor of a member of the United States Armed Services. Additionally, I'd like to compose a list of all the brave men and women honored by your donations. Please send me the name of the US Service man or woman that you’d like to honor.
I'm currently in my classroom (conferencing with parents) wishing that I had just a few minutes to make phone calls. HOWEVER, we go on Spring Break next week, so I will be able to make a ton of calls then. We're off until April 7th. Since I can't help make phone calls right now, I hope that you all will make a donation to help me honor service men and woman, reach my goal, and add to the momentum of "our" campaign.

Actually - more alarming to me is so called patriots that are using our precious freedom to vote to fix an election- they are voting for HRC with the stated reason to fix the election- its illegal and we need to kick up a fuss with the media and voter rights group.
We need to also flood appeals to McCain on his site and wherever else, to denounce election fixing from his supporters.

What is really alarming to me about Fox News is, they have no credibility outside of conservative Republicans and they make conservative Republicans look bad. I have friends who are conservative Republican and they are intelligent folks with opinions..but unlike coverage on Fox News they are willing to concede when right is right or wrong is wrong. Fox is a one trick pony and it's sad because they are joke when they could be fair to all.

Look at it from my perspective. Fox is terrified of a
Mcain-Obama match up because they know who will win. They have to do what they can to bring down Obama, by any means neccesary.
The Wright controversy is a bone thrown to them and they chewing on it with gusto largely because they could not find anything nasty/dirty that would stick. Think about it, how many other candidiates have a supporter/pastor say some really bad things and it's not even the focus of news.
The reality is that BO is being held to a much HIGHER STANDARD THAT WE WOULD ORDINARILY EXPECT OF ANY CANDIDIATE in this election. It doesn't matter whether he repudiates 1,000,000 times, the right wingers will keep hurling hate until they can bring him down. And they will FAIL,
Fox news is hopelessly obsessed with Obama, so is rush/hannity etc. But the more they replay those Wright tapes and hope to keep this story running longer, the more they look utterly desperate and frantic trying to help HRC win the nomination.
Today was the 5th anniversary of the Iraq war which Bush poorly executed and should never have led this nation down this destructive path. But Fox news and hateful radio shows have no time to pay tribute to the closely 4,000 men and women who have paid the ultimate price but instead prefer to talk about Obama's FORMER pastor. How pitifully desperate is that???

Rev. Wright is the KEY to success in November
We can send a word to Rev.Wright, Please would you take the time, just few seconds. To a man who has done great service for his country, for you all Americans as a marine. As a preacher he has buildt a community, helped and comforted...in the prisons, embraced Hiv infected, unemployed, speaking for for social justice. The children who received schoolership to better life and future.
Maybe some of you might find time to visit the church they do live service. I did just that last Sunday. Not that I am a christian, don´t belive at all...just that I am human. There was love, respect, inclusion, that everyone huged each other, warmth.
If you find in your heart, and if you felt outrage for those 30 sec. soundbit, then forgiveness is derserved. all the more reason for those 30 years of work. Where were the camara´s on those 30 years minus 30sec..?
I did thank Rev. Wright.....HoPe he does continue his service to the community and the rest of us. would you ???

No I don't agree with Reverend Wright, but I know he has a right to speak freely and we as a country have an obligation to ensure him of that right. I also know that as a nation we have the ability to change the Reverend's mind. It cannot and will not be accomplished with words. It must be done with actions. On Sunday April 20th I will be attending a different church. One that is predominantly African American. I will go there quietly, I will listen I will pray and then I will go home. I want to encourage others to do the same and visit a church on April 20th that is not your traditional church or place of worship. April 20th could be seen as a day of unity that has been long in the making and way over do.I truly believe in my heart and deep in my soul that we all have One God, One Nation and One Future President. Elect Senator Obama to be the next President of the United States of America and watch the "Generation Of Now" truly take off!

Cafferty: Republicans voting for Hillary Clinton?
Posted: 02:13 PM ET
A republican supporter of Hillary Clinton holds a sign during a campaign rally in Westerville, Ohio
FROM CNN's Jack Cafferty:
There's no doubt the 2008 campaign has been full of twists and surprises, and here's one more: Republicans are coming out in huge numbers to vote for Hillary Clinton.
That's right. About 100,000 Republicans came out to support Clinton in Ohio. 119,000 voted for her in Texas, and 38,000 in Mississippi.
The Boston Globe reports on why this is happening: Some Republicans are supporting Clinton hoping it will prolong her bitter fight for the nomination with Barack Obama. Others think Clinton would be an easier opponent for John McCain to beat in November. And still others are voting for Clinton because they want to keep her in the race to expose more information about Obama ahead of the general election.
Consider this: up until recently, Obama was getting a lot more support than Clinton was from Republicans in the primary contests. At the time, many traditional GOP voters said they liked Obama and were willing to cross party lines. But, once McCain sealed the deal with his party's nomination, things started to change.

I don't know if anyone saw our Florida Gov. Crist on MSNBC(?) this morning. Seemed rather hypacritical for a REPUBLICIAN Gov to be messing in the DNC process for our nomination and demanding that the hillary delegates be seated!!
Oh yes, wait a minute, John McCain can't win unless he can get hillary as his opponent!
Sooo,, Republicians want hillary as their opponent!
Gov. Crist wants to be John McCain's running mate!
Soooo,, keep the race in a mess or get hillary nominated and McCain picks him!!!

Chris Matthews program yesterday was the first MSM to admit this was happening.
I believe Obama didn't want to press this issue before the registration process is over in upcoming primaries and that MI was dead.
The problem is even worse than reported because many people who are telling Exit Polls that they are Independents are not even being included in those numbers. Obama's support among so called "Independents" has also taken a hit. My guess is that the Limbaugh effect is much worse than reported. In fact, in Texas, had Obama won among Republican and Independents by just 13% (instead of by 1-2%), he would have won the state. Before Texas, Obama was winning by 20-30% among those groups.
Now is a good time to let the SD know of this embarrassment to the Democratic Party.
The SD must end this race now.

I personally think it is unAmerican for Republicans to cross over and meddle in the democratic party / nomination & get her on the ballot in the hopes she will loose to McCain. Either cross party lines and vote for the candidate you will support, or don't vote at all.
By voting Democratic, they are also showing a disservice to those Republican candidates running for their local offices and Congressional seats. Maybe those 100,000 votes the Republicans cast via a Democratic ballot has now cost the Republicans seats in their state legislatures and the national Congress. Shows you where their loyalties really lay - at the national level (special interests, lobbyists, corporate tax loop-holes), not the local level where things can actually be improved.
We certainly welcome Republicans who cross over to vote for Barack because they believe in him and this campaign and the changes we are trying to bring to America.

Thanks, I guess I assumed CNN was talking about tonight. Its unusually for Larry to announce more than a day ahead. Probably Barack wants to complete his triple crown of Major speeches.
I wonder if everyone is aware that Edwards was mentioned to be the first guest on Jay Leno on Thursday. The King interview could be an offsetting measure or it could be part of a well planned Knock-Out Punch.
Since no other SD have come forward, when you would expect someone like Joe Biden - who praised Obama yesterday, I tend to favor a planned Edwards endorsement of Obama. Certainly Barack has to know what Edwards is up to. (I checked the news stories and the only stories saying Edwards would endorse Hillary was pure prediction by Republican leaning journalists)

I absolutely agree. (Disclaimer: I'm white.) Black people are held to a higher standard, even though ironically a lower standard is expected of them. I don't doubt they're used to this treatment (not saying it's acceptable). White people are not expected to disown people close to them for being racist.

The logic is slightly backwards on this theory, but I believe that this campaign needs to pay close attention to the conservatives on talk radio. I occasionally listen to see what the next attack will be on Barack. Honestly, I heard about this Rev. Wright issue a long time ago. If the campaign listens, they will be able to head some of this nonsense off before it reaches a critical stage like this past issue.
There are a whole new list of attacks about to come out. It seems as if they feel Barack is on the ropes and they want to knock him out.

I ask you: what other country in the world forces their leaders to pledge their allegence to a foreign country in order to get elected? Why must our candidates prove that they are unequivocally and without reservation behind and supportive of Israel, a foreign country?!? This astonishes me! I mean, Barack has a whole section (Under "Issues" then "Foreign Policy" and "On Israel") where he proclaims his unwaivering support for a superpower dominating over one of the poorest people in the world! And Barack has to re-iterate his support in his "Race Speech" as he distances himself from his Reverend: ("But the remarks that have caused this recent firestorm weren't simply controversial. They weren't simply a religious leader's effort to speak out against perceived injustice. Instead, they expressed a profoundly distorted view of this country - a view that sees white racism as endemic, and that elevates what is wrong with America above all that we know is right with America; a view that sees the conflicts in the Middle East as rooted primarily in the actions of stalwart allies like Israel, instead of emanating from the perverse and hateful ideologies of radical Islam."--B.O.). Maybe the great Liberator of the Liberals can support the position of Reverand Desmond Tutu? I bet not. Too bad.

If you leave Barack's camp you are giving way to despair. Let Barack get to a position where he may be able to negotiate a more satisfactory solution to the problem. THE MEDIA wants this race to continue because people are watching the news like never before. The race is OVER but the media wants you to watch for RATINGS!
This is soooooo true that even the media is starting to admit it. (see above post)
I stopped watching and I have realized this more... I'm only watching a select few things that are only about Obama...like tonight's interview on CNN.
They are relying on the fact that we still think it's a race.....It's not.....Let the media feel the drop in ratings and they'll move in to something else.
Everytime they say it's "close" we tune in even more. Most of us have already VOTED.

I have been saddened over these past few weeks with the controversy surrounding Rev Wright. Not because of his sermon but because of America's reaction to it. Why is it that our character is sumed up to be that of those around us? In reality, do we really know those who we work with, live by, converse with in social events or even worship with? Will we ever know enough to make a sound enough decision to leave those who have been of our acquaintance behind for fear they may one day tarnish us or most importantly, our reputation? For it has been said that you don't really know a person until you have lived with him. If that's true, how many of us will have had the opportunity to live with those we have chosen to be our friend, colleague, or spiritual advisor? Not many.
Or do we really want to or need to? We should, in God's eye, be able to own up to the decisions we make and not need to answer for those around us. For as adults, we must be held accountable for our own publicized thoughts and actions not our relatives, co-workers, neighbors or common memberships alike.
Have faith Obama, America need your guidance to be able to raise above all the controversy today whether it's race, this fallen economy, health care and this needless war, we all need your leadership because you're the better choice and right now, the only choice.

PREVIEW OF ANDERSON COOPER TONIGHT:
Up Close and on the Trail
Posted: 09:34 AM ET
We are in the plane on our way to spend a day on the trail with Senator Barack Obama. The campaign has promised us unprecedented behind-the-scenes access with the Senator as he gives a speech on Iraq in Fayetteville, North Carolina and then travels to Charlotte for a town-hall event.
In between events Senator Obama will sit down for a one-on-one interview with Anderson. Most viewers are used to seeing candidates in formal settings, hearing soundbites, and reading recaps of highly orchestrated official campaign events. Seeing what actually goes into a day on the trail should be revealing.
We will take you with us as we go backstage and up close with the candidate on the trail. We will be with the Senator before he delivers an important address on the war in Iraq as the 5 year anniversary is upon us. After the event in Fayetteville the six of us traveling for the show will board the Obama press plane and fly with the Obama staff to Charlotte, North Carolina and see first-hand the questions voters have for the candidate. The day will end with our live show at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.
We love doing the show from campus locations because we inevitably draw a large crowd of curious, energetic students and young adults. It should be an apt end to a day on the trail with Barack Obama.

Well, my vote not getting counted is just more of the same old same old, and I will no longer support Sen. Obama in any way. I am a loyal democrat- worked in both the Edwards campaign and in Wes Clark's campaign back in '04 as a delegate and as a campaign captain. I could be a lot of help to Sen Obama, but I simply will not so long as he opposes Floridians being given a revote or our previous votes counting in this primary. I'm not responsible for the Republicans in my statehouse who favored this early primary- I voted fof not a ONE of them. I voted and you are discarding my vote. If my state doesn't count to you, if private American's votes don't matter to you, I won't support you for president and may stay home in Novemeber for the election. Not trying to be mean because I think it's an outrage that anyone's vote doesn't count, but why didn't you aggressively go after your local democratic party and the DNC. Obama is a candidate in the democratic race. The mail in vote was unconstitutional and no one could work out a compromise. Seriously I hope you don't think Senator Obama doesn't care about your vote or anyone here does. Democracy has failed in Florida twice in the last decade, but this one could be seen and dealt with almost a year ago when the DNC sanctioned Florida.

Yes, I do think Sen Obama doesn't care about my vote. I think that if either Florida or Michigan had gone his way he'd be clawing away trying to get those peoples votes to count. I'm sorry, but it looks a lot like he's afraid of a change in momentum just before the convention and he's fighting that. No, my local delegation doesn't count, and if the two major candidates AGREED that there should be a revote, it would happen. That's a large part of what's keeping it from happening.
Barack Obama is an African American. I live in the South. For many years down here (even into 2000) my state and the rest of the South made up all kinds of rules so African Americans couldn't vote. Well, talk about disingenuous (his words)- now Senator Obama is objecting to my vote counting on the basis of RULES made up by the DNC. These rules were broken by Republican legislators in Tallahassee, not by Florida voters. He doesn't give a damn because he's afraid of counting our vote. Sounds like what we already have in Washington. Why should I vote for him???? Explain that one to me.

LINDA, YOUR VOTE SHOULD COUNT. THE PENALTY SHOULD BE PAID BY THE DNC AND THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE FOR FAILING TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE VOTERS. IT SHOULD NOT BE PAID BY THE VOTERS. AS FAR AS BEING TOO EXPENSIVE, THAT'S A LOAD OF CRAP. TAXPAYERS PAID FOR 3 ELECTIONS (AT LEAST) IN IRAQ, AND THAT WAR HAS BEEN COSTING US 12 MILLION DOLLARS AN HOUR. EVERY HOUR. FOR FIVE YEARS. A RE-VOTE IN FLORIDA WOULD COST 2 HOURS OF THE WAR IN IRAQ. I GUESS THE TAXPAYERS CAN AFFORD TO PAY FOR DEMOCRACY IN IRAQ BUT WE CANT AFFORD IT HERE IN THE USA.I THINK THE DNC AND THE FLA LEG. SHOULD PAY. SAME IN MICH. IM TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT THEIR DAMN RULES. THE VOTERS SHOULD GET TO VOTE. THE PRIMARY SCHEDULE IS NOT DEMOCRATIC. THE SUPERDELEGATES ARE NOT DEMOCRATIC. ADMIT YOU OFFICIALS HAVE SCREWED UP AND GIVE THE VOTERS WHAT THEY DESERVE AND PAY FOR IT. IN THE FUTURE GIVE US A NATIONAL PRIMARY DAY, NO

If you want to be angry at someone then you should be angry at your Democratic congressmen and the state superdelegates. They are the ones who got the primary moved up against the wishes of the DNC.
They knew the rules and decided to break them.
So, the punishment for breaking the rules is your delegates don't count.
Sorry, but thats how it is.
In any situation where there are rules you play by them or you don't, and if you don't play by the rules then there are negative consequences.
Move on....

I can understand your frustration but Senator Obama is trying to abide by the rules, that ALL candidates agreed to follow.
Ask yourself this question--if Hillary REALLY wanted your vote to count, why wouldn't she agree to seat the delegates with a 50-50 split, so the voters could have a voice but no one would gain an unfair advantage?
I urge you to please try to see this from another perspective...it's very unfair that Hillary--who went on the record saying the votes in these two states wouldn't count--is now demanding a re-vote because she's far behind.
I want a leader who follows the rules, and doesn't
throw them away when things aren't going his or her way.
And for the record, Michigan voted about 40% against Hillary, for the no name candidate. It is widely assumed that Senator Obama would carry that state in a re-vote.
Thanks for listening :)

This is a non-issue.

No mam, my vote was for John Edwards. I was Edward's captain here in Pensacola, But I started to believe in Obama after Edwards dropped out. I don't anymore. I'm not the ONLY one here who thinks that way. You can blame it on Tallahassee, you can blame it on whoever you want to , but the result is the same. My vote doesn't count, again. I'd planned to vote for Obama in a revote, but since he opposes it so strongly, that won't be happening. You let your vote not be counted and see how you feel.

Linda, Obama had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Florida will not have a re-vote.
The Obama campaign was against a re-vote by mail, but so was your state legislature. There's just too much potential for fraud, trying to verify signatures without any systems in place.
Your own legislature decided against a re-vote. I personally am in favor of a re-vote for Florida, if it is a regular primary. But Florida's electoral rules make it nearly impossible. This is not Barack's fault in any way.
I am upset that you have been unfairly disenfranchised. This matter should have been addressed by the Florida and national Democratic party way back in February. Your party leaders have not served you well. But it is not Barack's fault.
To have the votes counted from the illegal primary makes no sense. There were many people who stayed away knowing that their vote wouldn't count. And as has been proven throughout the country, over and over again, once Barack campaigns, sets up an organization, educates the voters about who he is and where he stands, he turns voters towards him and away from Hillary Clinton. So to have a vote count, in a state where, at that time, he was not at all well-known in comparison to Clinton, does not reflect the outcome that would have occured had he campaigned there.
Please don't blame Barack for the failure of the Democratic Party. In its defense, the likelihood that this scenario would occur was highly unlikely when the decision was made. Unfortunately, it has turned out to be a fiasco, and has dissillusioned voters like yourself. I am so sorry that this has happened.

Linda, Senator Obama has NEVER said he opposed Florida coming to some sort of an agreement for a revote. This is not Senator Obama's fault nor is it Hillary's or John Edwards or anybody. It's your leaders in the State of Florida that caused this unfortunate event. They are the one's you should be angry at. What is Obama supposed to do? Foot the bill for a revote? It is unfair to seat the delegates exactly as the previous vote played out because there was no campaigning, we were fairly early on in the race, and your State knew at the time if elections were held with the new date that the delegates were not going to be seated. I am sorry you choose to blame Senator Obama for these unfortunate circumstances.

Linda, wrong target!
Sen Obama was not opposed to holdling a valid primary in Florida. He was opposed to holding a "mail-in" primary. So was the ENTIRE Florida delegation to the US House of Representatives. So were many others.
When the clique running the Democratic Party of Florida failed to get their (fraud susseptible) "mail-in" proposal accepted, THEY gave up and said there would be no primary.
Blaming Sen Obama for that is to blame the wrong target, and let the crooks have a free pass.

What a lie. I did intend to vote for him. Now you are making it about the BLACK guy- a racial issue. I've said not one word about color other than that it seems Obama would look at the past in this country and the many problems caused by disenfranchising a large segment of society. He spoke about the anger that caused yesterday, and it seems he'd be angry about disenfranchising ANYONE, but evidently a state that went for Clinton doesn't matter. Don't call me a coward- he's a coward because he's scared of letting Michigan and Florida vote again. You don't have a clue what race I am, by the way, do you?????????? Was that "smarter than you seem" comment a hint that you think I'm white????? Good God, talk about racism. You guys don't care because winning is all that counts- that's my point.
I VOTED and so did millions of other Floridians. Your candidate doesn't care if those votes count or not. You evidently don't either. How very Republican of you. BTW, you really do NOT know what race I am. You do know that I'm angry though,so I keep saying I'm leaving. I think I'd better before I decide to vote for Hillary, and that's about the last thing I'd want to do.

Hi Linda
Its true your vote should count. However for reasons that make little sense Florida moved ahead their primary knowing full well that the votes would not count.
The campaigns were supposed to stay out and largely they did.
Let me ask you if your child disobeyed your rules would you later reward them? Even worse imagine if there was an event at school that your child was told wouldnt count towards their grade. So they opted not to do it. Then later some that did complained and wanted extra credit. What happens to your child who didnt show up.
As I see it the problem is that you do want to count the votes, its just that we have no idea who voted and who stayed home having been told this doesnt count.
As much as it may penalize you, surely you dont want to penalize them.
There are other issues of course with the vote as it went. Since there was no campaigning it would be like a static view in time. Now at that point Senator Clinton was well ahead in the polls and many people were simply not aware of Senator Obama. It is the same way that we return approximately 90% or so of Congresspeople each year despite dissatisfaction with them. You tick the box with the name you recognize.
This suggests that perhaps if both candidates had campaigned that results might be different. We had an example recently in Iowa where we could see that. As you know the delegates were revoted on and about half of Senator Edwards group moved to Senator Obama.
I dont know and sadly we may never know. What would be patently unfair would be to use the "vote " from before. It will undercount those who chose not to participate knowing full well that it didnt matter (same in Michigan).
Just think how your kids (if you have any) would feel if this happened to them. Hopefully if you do that you might start believing again.
I also note that your best opportunity to vent your frustration is to deal with the state government who have set this up in the first place knowing full well the consuquences.
They should bear the brunt of your frustration

Yes, he opposes a revote. Watch him on CNN tonight and he'll make that perfectly clear. Hillary Clinton was just challenging him about it and "disingenuous" is the word he used about her challenge. In other words- she wants it because she thinks she'll win. AND.............. If she did, at least the millions of disenfranchised voters here would count.
Just the fact that so many of you on here are making excuses for my vote not being counted tells me a lot about the "win at all cost" attitude. That's Bushism at it's worst. The Democratic party should ASSURE that all votes count in this election, no matter the cost. If they don't, I may not even bother to vote in the general. Floridians feel like this is 2000 all over again. You may not count Florida's votes now, but by God in November, we WILL COUNT. And if I stay home and a few more like me stay home, Florida will go to McCain.

Linda,
BO never said that he don't want the votes to count. He has always said that he will play by all fair DNC rules. That's all he has ever done, play by the rules. I know you love Hillary, we all feel the same way about BO like you do HRC. But, don't believe what HRC says. I heard her on CNN saying "she do believe the votes should count and Barack should stand with her and start making speeches on making the two states vote count." This is what makes us on this board so upset with HRC. She tries to make her supporters feel like BO don't want the votes to count, and you all believe her. Barrack stated earlier that he will sign to a do-over if it was done fair, and the DNC met repeatedly and no one could agreed to anything. No mail-in, because of fraud. No primary because it cost to much, and no one want to pay for it. HRC really wants Barack to stand by her and say"go on plan a new primary and I will foot half the $15million bill, but us supporters of Baracks do not want to be donating to cater to Hillary. We are winning and don't need a new primary. I really hate it for the voters, but Florida had it's chance, if us donors help foot this bill, why should we believe that this will be done right. What if they mess up again and Hillary win and Barack don't feel right and want a do-over will HRC supporters support that. Love Hillary, but leave this alone. I love BO, but what his preacher said was wrong. While Hillary is continuing to press the issue and the DNC said no do-over for Florida, really makes her seems as if she is fishing for votes and yall are pushing for it.

Linda,
You're right - you are not responsible for the Republicans who favored your early primary. However, you are responsible for allowing that early primary to occur. Why was there no outcry from the voters when this decision was made? It never would have happened if you had gotten together and spoken out against it.
The fact that the votes wouldn't count was well-publicized across the nation (I heard all about it here in New York). Why didn't Democrats and Independents threaten to stay home in protest? That definitely would have gotten the legislature's attention.
I don't think that anyone on this board supports disenfranchising any voters, Democrat or Republican. But don't try to blame Senator Obama - he is not "discarding your vote" for something that he had absolutely nothing to do with, and no control over.

I realize I don't hear everything, but what I heard Obama say was that he would go along with what the DNC decided. I think Clinton is trying to push this off on Obama, but unless I have missed something, he has never said he didn't want the Floridians votes to count.

You have no "fair" distribution of delegates when voters in 2 of the nations largest states are disenfranchised. The delegate count means nothing right now because no one knows what it would be had our votes counted.
Protesting would have done no good. Republicans in Florida government did this to Democrats in our state. Period, And the DNC is letting them get away with it.
As far as what I heard Obama say- he was just on CNN calling Hillary's call for a revote or for our votes to count disingenous. He doesn't want it. Period.

Linda- I, too, was a loyal supporter who worked very hard on General Clark's campaign prior to shifting my allegiance to the Kerry-Edwards ticket when my candidate dropped out of the race. I believed then, as I do now, that Democratic unity is critically important to reverse the abysmal and destructive policies of the Bush-Cheney administration.
As a voter in Colorado who has never been able to choose a Presidential candidate (previous primaries were scheduled w-a-y late in the season) I share your frustration, however, I believe it is sorely misplaced. Your state party leaders disenfranchised you-not Barack Obama or John Edwards (who also followed the national party's rules just like Barack Obama).
I suspect if the tables were reversed and John Edwards was leading in states, delegates and the popular vote, that things might look different for you.

Split the two states 50-50? That's not counting anyone's vote, is it? A revote is fair in Michigan because no one was on the ballot but HRC. Voters in Florida turned out in record numbers for the primaries- almost no one stayed home because they didn't think their vote would count, like some of you are trying to say. Guess who should NOT be in favor of a 50-50 split because she WON?
You can all think I'm a HRC supporter if you want to, but I signed onto this website a couple of months ago, not onto Hillary's. I still have never registered over there. I fully intended to support Obama after Edwards dropped out, and if you want to think I'm a troll, that's fine. You are wrong. That's wishful thinking. You are wishing people in Florida wouldn't be p.o'ed about our votes not being counted but it isn't so. Like I said, HRC did get on the bandwagon today of counting ALL the votes. When Obama gets on that bandwagon, maybe I'll consider him again. Otherwise, I probably won't vote at all. I'm not a HRC supporter, not in any way. Y'all don't believe that, but it's the truth. My vote counts to me. I was screwed out of it by a Republican legislature. MY PARTY leaders could and should do something about that.

You should consider this when you vote for your LOCAL officials next time. They were told when they did it that their states would be penalized, and they didn't care. Hey, Brandy are you counting FLORIDA's POPULAR vote when you say Obama is leading in the popular vote? And how do you know what the vote would have been in Michigan had their votes counted and Obama's name been on the ballot?
You don't, do you?
You can't because the state officials of those states screwed their voters and the DNC allowed them to do it. The DNC AIDED them in doing it by making those rules to protect the "little" folks in New Hampshire and Iowa. Those people have NO right to choose the nominees every four years by giving a candidate such momentum over another that the news media abandons all other candidates.
No, it wouldn't make any difference if John Edwards were ahead in delegates and popular votes. I believe every American's vote should count. If my guy lost fairly, then so be it. Unless Barack Obama comes out and shows he gives a damn about votes counting, I can't vote for him. And I'm not the only one. I'm out of here.

Actually, even adding in FL and MI, Obama still is leading the popular vote (which says something, considering he wasn't on the MI ballot). Adding in FL and MI delegates as-is, Obama is trailing by about 5 because that also adds in the super delegates that endorsed Hillary in those states. See, it isn't about the pledged delegates because Obama still leads her in pledged delegates even adding in FL and MI as-is, it's those supers Hillary really wants that gives her the edge. But no, adding in FL and MI as-is doesn't change the fact that Obama has the popular vote.

Today, I listened for a few minutes to Pat Buchanan ranting about the speech Senator Obama gave. He said he that Senator Obama did give a good speech, but he did not explain why he did not leave the church.
Who among any of us have the right to tell somebody they have to leave a church because THEY don't like what is said.
My opinion:
Pat Buchanan does not know Christ. Because if he did, he would not have the nerve to keep saying Obama should leave the church. Buchanan keeps saying that Rev. Wright preaches like this all the time... that's a bold face lie. If the news would just for once be fair, they would play some of his sermons which supports the love of God in our community. The commentator that was with him suggested that he go to Trinity and listen to the sermons. You know he said no. But then if he had any goodness about him, he would want to he known as a great man, a fair man - fair to the point that he would take time to listen to some of Rev. Wright's sermons and show some of his positive comments.
So if God dealt with Pat Buchanan and all the other critics the way they are dealing with Obama because of Rev. Wrights comments, then they are all doomed by their own charge. Jesus teaches us to love the sinner, but not the sin. Rev. Wright was wrong, but you don't turn your back on him because he was wrong. You let the love of God show through you. That is how people get changed.
That is the example our soon to be President Barack Obama is setting. He is the best!
KEEP THE FAITH!

Thanks to the generosity of many who donated their valuable frequent flyer miles, we sent 28 out-of-state volunteers to Texas and Ohio, and so far have another 10 going to Pennsylvania.
DONORS: It takes 25,000 miles for a ticket. So – who’s got at least 25,000 on the same airline which they’d like to donate toward making sure Barack Obama is our next President?
Step right up — I’m getting requests almost daily from volunteers who want to help but can’t afford the airfare. Donate now, please, so we can get these people on the ground where they’re most needed. We have to win Pennsylvania!
VOLUNTEERS: If you want to spend a week or more in PA, but can’t afford to pay your own way, contact me and I’ll try to match you with an airline ticket. Must be in April, otherwise we incur unreasonable surcharges.

Obama is a true leader! His was honest and acknowledged that his pastor made some bad remarks in his sermons. I just can’t believe that the voters are going to punish him for what his pastor said. What does his pastor have to do with Obama’s politics? First, you all thought he was a Muslim. Now he’s a Christian listening to a pastor, who is angry with the government. What’s next? We need to focus on the issues and listen to what he is trying to do for the United States. While the democrats are putting bad information out about Obama, McCain is raising money to defeat the next democratic candidate. He is going to use all the information we are putting out there to the public, against us! Can we please stop this nonsense and focus on the issues so a democrat can win the presidency. They are both good candidates, but Hillary is worried and she’s becoming ugly. She is following into the same footsteps as President Bush (playing dirty/cheating). I know I’m tired of the same politics? What about you? I want a change. I am positive and I believe that Obama will do his best to serve the American people. As I listen to the pundits response to Obama's speech today, there seems to be one train of thought that they overwelmingly harp on. That is, how could Obama continue for 20yrs to maintain and have respect for a man who espouses such things.
Well I think Obama answered that question in his speech when he expressed that if that was all that he knew of the man then his reaction to him would be the same as the critics. If one thinks about this statement carefully, it's no different than the mindset of this nation toward it's founding fathers.
These are men who were every bit as duplicitous in their nature as Jeremiah Wright. They are men who had great vision and foresight to construct the founding documents that would be the glue that formed and held together the greatest nation on earth. Yet, at the same time that they embodied such greatness, they engaged in the most agregious actions of all time. They declared equality and justice for all while brutally enslaving and murdering people. Jefferson partook in the writing of the declaration of independence, while at the same time, enslaving, and committing adultry and pedophillia sleeping with a 13 year old slave girl. I could go on, but I think you get the point.
Despite their most agregious actions, this nation still holds them in a place of honor. Why? Because this country knows more of the men than those most agregious acts. This country has decided to denounce their most agregious acts, while paying homage to their greater good. Because their greater contribution to this nation has not stopped producing and serving us well.
Has Obama done anything different in his denounciation of Wright's most agregious transgressions, while still treasuring the greater good that Wright has provided in his life? I think not.
If this nation ONLY knew of the vile and agregious transgressions of it's forefathers, would their faces be on mount rushmore and would we be paying such tribute to them? I think not again.
I submit that we ALL have some measure of duplicity in us. Some measure of conflict that goes against the greater good that our overall existence produces, and if we are to be judged by our most agregious actions, to the exclusion of all else, then we should all be condemned--starting with the forefathers of this nation.

YES You are right in many of your points the U.S. Senate allowed Senator Byrd who has represented his state, West Virginia for years, was a card carrying member of the KKK, and the Congress never kicked him out or turned their back on him. He's now in his 90's and one of the most powerful members of the Senate. Can you imagine some of the things he may have said in the passed to his fellow congressmen. What was his position during the Civil Rights Movement, Jim Crow laws, voting rights, integation of schools. Yet it has been said that he has become one of the major fighters for Racial Equality. Who would of thought that old dog could learn new tricks. Rev. Wright has spoken at my church and I didn't get that from his message and I'm from a multi-racial family, my granddaughters are half white.I love my daughter-in-law, just as my son does. We live in Virginia and even in 2008 it's still not easy, but racially it's gotten better and this once red state is now blue. The worst thing about this subject is people have heard a few sound bytes and started yelling crucify him, while and the saddest thing is Christians are yelling the loudest.Did I miss that part in my bible, maybe I have studied the wrong ones. After praying about it a while I can say God lead me to see that no man can judge the heart of another, only God can do that. With Easter Sunday around the corner this may be a great time for all to reflect on the words of Jesus the Christ and what words he spoke that lead to his becoming hated or dangerous, what relationship lead to his arrest , trial, crucifixion. What would we think of Jesus the leader, Christianity or any religion if we only saw and heard 30 second Bytes on Utube, MSM or cable news? Would There be a different out come if Jesus walked in this time? It frightens me to think that nothing would have changed, just a larger group of follower with hope in our hearts, and many waiting in the wings ready to yell out, crucify him, crucify him again.
Just something to think about.
AT THIS HOLY TIME OF YEAR I PRAY FOR GREATER UNDERSTANDING, PEACE AND BLESSING FOR ALL.

I know, I was also stunned to find out that Barack Obama wrote every word of the most amazing speech given on race since MLK Jr.'s "I Have A Dream" speech, too.
So stunned that I made my first personal fundraising page- we NEED to thank Obama for his courage. Let's raise one dollar for every word of the speech that made us cry and made us hope when Barack spoke in Philadelphia yesterday.
I'm a broke college student and I'm giving this week's spending money to Barack by kicking this off with $25.00- that's a pledge of thanks for 25 words of the first speech written and delivered by a President or presidential candidate in ALMOST FORTY YEARS.
Please give what you can- Barack Obama and the world need to know that we the people are READY for a new kind of politics and a new kind of President: The kind who speaks from HIS heart, not a speechwriter's.

IF you don't believe me,Elizabeth and Joe Scarborough had the same comment today about Obama's speech on race " Obama throw his grandmother under the bus".Hmmmm

I beleieve you, Elisabeth gets on my nerve, everytime I watch that show. She hates Barack, He was not trying to throw his grandma away, he simply tried to say both them(his grandma and Wright) are stuck in their ways. However both feel like family to him, He has heard Wright say some bad things as well as his grandma and he simmply couldn't bring his self to dis-own either. That was the point he wasa trying to make. Wright has resigned from the church, so I don't think he will be parding around with Mr. Wright no time in the future. Barack knows how deeply this has hurt, and he is sorry. Elisabeth is very conservative and therefore she is like Hannity, they will pick all the things out of any speech that they feel bab, because they don't like the candidate. I have learned to feel that no matter what. Thisare storms of ours. BO supporters, and this all shall past. If it is meant for our man it will happen. Keep the faith and love all you.

Dear David Gregory and Chris Matthews,
What ever happened to the practice of real journalism? You and your fellow hosts of MSNBC programs have, for whatever reason, bought hook, line and sinker into the undocumented reporting, assertions, and consequently biased views continuously broadcasted by Fox News when it comes to Rev. Wright.
On the basis of selected soundbites and pictures strung together by Fox News (and subsequently replayed by MSNBC) in an obvious attempt to publicly embarass a democratic presidential candidate, you and your fellow peers at MSNBC have apparently readily accepted Fox News unfounded unproven assertions that Rev. Wright has spoken nothing but these "inflammatory" words every single Sunday for the last 30 plus years. Apparently, Rev. Wright has had no time to preach about anything else let alone do anything else for his Church members or his community other than repeatedly utter these sad words during all of his time spent in service at Trinity.
Intrinsically, you know that this is not true, yet you are willingly allowing anyone appearing on your shows to assert that this is true. Please do everyone a favor and do some basic background research on Rev. Wright in support of your effort to fairly report both sides of "The Race for the White House" while playing "Hardball Politics" in recognition of your deserved reputations as serious journalists. Otherwise, both of you are simply letting your guests opinionated statements be broadcast unchecked as facts. And once broadcast, these unchecked "facts" are perceieved as reality whether they are true or not.

I will certainly call Fox News regarding Hannity's prejudice reporting of Barack Obama. It seems obvious that Hannity is obsessed with Rev. Wright. I believe that Hannity is an advocate for white male supremency. He is increasinly showing his hatred for Obama. I recall several months ago on Immigration / Amesty matter, Hannity and O'Reily were expressing their worries that life in American for white men was in jeopardy. When the scandal came up on Dog the Bounty Hunter and Imus, Hannity readily ran to their rescue. Hannity keeps showing his true colors. He needs to be kicked out.

Everyone is expecting us to lose Penn. We need to tap into Clinton's demographics. How do we do this? Well the hardest group for him is what the media refers to as Reagan democrats or rural white voters. Why not have people who can relate to this demographic easily into those areas. Door to door campaigning. Sitting down and explaining Baracks positions and helping them understand that all these recent controversial events are all distractions from the big picture? Anyone? I don't watch Fox news, yet I live in a town (in PA) that has very few Obama supporters. It drives me crazy. I would love to help with the campaign as much as possible. We have purchased signs, buttons, bumper stickers etc. I have actually gotten phone calls from neighbors and friends asking why we would support Obama. I recently moved back here, as this is my hometown but I am now wishing I could move again. Agghhhh I just wish there were more people nearby that are like my husband and I. So much misinformation has been spread by the corporations and special interests who are terrified this guy could actually win (oh Yes we Can!!!) and their days of calling the shots will be over - they are doing everything in their power to provent that. All of us must be very visable in out support - make sure you have an Obama bumper sticker on your car, wear your Obama tee-shirt whenever you can.

Hi, hold your head up as a true person of change and hope someone who really cares about your candidate. The only candidate to bring a new type of leadership and unity to our country and the world.
Someone who is willing to listen to everone even people he doesn't agree with, someone who wants republicians and democrates, liberals and conservative, sunnis and shiites, tribes in Africa and the Middle East, that we all can learn to work together for a greater good a better planet.
Let them know you don't hold their positions or beliefs against them. Remind them republicians used poor judgement before 7 years ago, with the election of GWB. Are they better off now after his policies, lies and mistakes. Mistakes they still refuse to admit and when one of their leadership stepped out of line or disagreed with the policy. Under the bus they went, rememer SOS Colin Powell, HLS Brown, and many more.
When they bring up Rev. Wright and I'm multi-racial AA( and let them know younger AA don't support everything Rev. Wright said but many people have learned to respect their elders even when we disagree with their position.) That a still serving Senator Byrd of West Virginia, was a card carrying card of the KKK and is now one of the most powerful members of the Congress. That we as a nation needs to grow in our mind set, words and actions. That the candidate we elect most serve all the people of this great country or it will become like a tree that produces no fruit or shade just good for firewood and even a fire go's out when not fed. Hope this give you the faith of a tiny mustard seed just plant and water it and you grow a mighty tree.

I really wish the media would just let the whole Wright thing go. By now people either understand or they don't. I just can't see how people can be so judgemental about this.
As a daughter of a baptist minister I can understand why Barack doesn't denounce Wright completely. My father said many things over the years that I heard him preach about that I didn't agree with. A good example would be on this issue of women being allowed to be ordained ministers. I never agreed with him and others in the church that women, according to their interpretation of the bible, wasn't allowed to "have authority over a man". Does that mean that my father didn't support me and encourage me to do all the things I wanted to in life? Of course not. Does that mean that my father was a man who didn't believe woman should remain bare foot and pregnant? Again, of course not.
Ironically, about 10 years before my father died he invited a WOMAN to preach at our church and changed his previous view.
That's what people should be taking away from this whole thing. That you can't simply start denouncing people for saying something terrible. Not when the person is someone who has done alot of good for you and for many others.
You should just hold true to your own convictions and do your best to help change their views.
It's amazing how the media is very silent on the radical right wing preachers out there who have said things much much worse than Wright did.
I think Barack did a good job in the interview with Anderson. I just hope this whole stink with Fla and MI gets resolved.

Need someones help understanding why a African- American candidate has to be prefect, no mistake allowed. Why must Senator Obama's wife, advisors, and pastor be without flaw, fault or blemish? Why do they keep moving the goal or finish line?
When I voted for President Clinton he had a list of issues and every candidate ever elected had some sketetons the voters has to look passed. For 7 years I've had to flip channels to avoid hearing GWB lies, spin, half truths and he alway pissed me off with his arrogance. All that drunk cowboy crap. How can the republicians say anything after the passed 7 years. The hypocristy.
I never asked for our president to be prefect because that candidate would be God himself.
I've talked to young people about the need to vote and worked for years to register voters, I even serve as an election official but this will be my last election if Senator Obama is not elected President. I've had to pray hard not to hate Senator Clinton because of her kitchen sink actions during this campaign. Only hearing the voice of God himself, asking me to vote for her could get me into the polling booth in November. To cast a vote for Senator Clinton would be rewarding bad behavior and that will require a act of God. And before I would answer that voice and vote Clinton I'd have to go to a doctor to see if I didn't need to be treated and medicated. LOL
