Hey Obama Family :)
I absolutely cried like a baby when Obama took the stage and began his speech. I surprised myself that I cried so much! LOL! I have been feeling so dismal about America's future, and heck, my own future, but there is something about what happened tonight that gives me a sense of hope. I just wanted to know if anyone else cried like I did tonight :)

Cried for what? Where is the common sense. What exactly (never ever been answered) is this guy going to actually do? Our country has been shredded by the politically correct crap wiping out morals and values we knew America to be. Mr. O is just talk, talk, talk. What in the world does he bring to us? Experience, no. American faithful background, no. Where is the sense of chosing the leader of our country? He doesn't have an experienced background for this job. So, cry now and you will cry later when he leads us to communism and increased racism.

He is going to restore America's standing in the world, defend the Constitution (instead of just talking about doing so and then ignoring it, as Bush has done); he has over 20 years of legslative and community experience; his fathful American backgroun includes a lineage of decent hard-working Americans from Kansas who fought against the Nazis, and an education at some of America's finest schools. His legislative record includes bills to secure lose nuclear weapons, ensure transparency in goverenment, provide health care for thousands of children without insurance coverage and ensure that bill of rights is respected. So Li, believe your lies if you want to, but know that millions of Americans know the truth. So, like millions of others,I will cry tears of joy now, and tears of joy when he is elected president.

He DOES NOT need her looking over his shoulder. He doesn't need to be wondering what Bill is doing or saying to undermine his presidency. He doesn't need to wonder what his VP is doing to undermine his presidency. He needs her in a position where if she undermines him he can ask her out of office. HE CAN DO IT! He can get CA, had he campaigned in Florida and Michigan, he might have won there. HE CAN DO IT! KEEP troops on the ground in all of the areas he didn't do well...let him get in those areas meeting and greeting the people, letting them get to know him. HE CAN DO IT! YES, HE CAN!!!

I hope she decides to be nice and stops asking for what it can not be possible. She started blackmailing the campaign. There has to be freedom to decide the best for the country. I do not think that Mrs. Clinton is best for this country. She wants to pull Obama to the past. I pray that she decides to rest and forget about her obsession to spoil the Democratic ticket.

Anybody but Hillary for Vice President!! Hillary by staying in the race after it is over along with nasty comments by Bill Clinton makes her the worst choice for Vice President. She and Bill would be competing for the spotlight his whole term. Hillary by trying to pressure Obama is showing her disrespect for him and she needs to step off the stage or be pulled off NOW!
Obama does not need the baggage from the 1990's the Clinton's bring. This is not the 1990's. Everything is different. Let him choose his own VP in his own time. He needs to reject her and get this talk of a "dream team" behind him. It would be a Republican dream and a Democratic nightmare.

In answer to those who feel that having HRC on the ticket would help unite the party.
I agree that folks are going to have to work hard to unite the party, but I do not support having HRC on the ticket.
She is truth challenged. She is old school politics. She has spent the last few months dividing the party, dividing Americans by race, by gender, by working class, by religion, by educational status.
She was wrong on the war. She has threatened to obliterate Iran.
She thinks lobbyists speak for Americans. She takes more money from lobbyists than McCain. Her number one political advisor is also a lobbyist for Blackwater. Holy conflict of interest.
Her solution to gas price increases was to pander to the American public.
Anyone who can mention what happened to RFK as a reason to stay in the race, does not deserve to be a VP.
From a purely political perspective, she won't help us win the red states we need to win. She may even be a liability in those states.
Her management of her campaign was horrible. She makes her decisions based on the latest polling data. Even her own staff was bitterly divided, constantly fighting with each other. She has a huge debt. We might find ourselves paying that debt off if she was the VP candidate.
I haven't even mentioned how much the republicans would appreciate having HRC to run against. You say having HRC on the ticket will help unite the party.
The problem is that having HRC on the ticket will do more to unite the republican party than the democratic party.
We need someone we can trust to lead us in a new direction. We need to turn the page. Democrats will come together and unite, if they have leadership that is actually committed to uniting the country.
I respect the thoughts of those considering Hillary, but there are many, many vice presidential candidates who will do more for the ticket.

NO. It's not in her place to offer herself; it's up to him to make the offer. And she should not dictate his timetable for when that conversation is held; that's his decision. And she should not be given the opportunity to say yes or no ahead of his #1 choice. DESPITE WHAT BARACK SAID TONIGHT, THIS ONE IS ABOUT HIM; THIS IS NOT ABOUT HILLARY!
She should not be his VP. She represents everything in Washington that he seeks to change. She will be an obstruction to most everything he stands for. AND, SADLY, HER PRESENCE IN THE WHITE HOUSE WILL BE AN DETRIMENT TO HIS WELLBEING.
No, no VP position to HRC. By virtue of the fact she says she wants it, it should not be offered to her. She cannot be trusted. She does not have this country's best interest at heart; only her own; and that alone is scary enough for me not to want her in the White House as Barack's VP.

After what Hillary did last night ...I believe that she believes that SHE OWNS the White House. It was discusting. Her speech was downright RUDE...and disrespectful to her own supporters, to the Democratic Party and especially disrespectful to Barack Obama. It lacked grace and it lacked fair sportsman-womanship......she embarrassed me.
I feel strongly that if Hillary noses her way into Barack Obama's administration ....especially on the ticket as VP.....she will destroy Obama's promise of Change and HOPE and the ticket would win ...the drama would NEVER end.
Barack Obamas speech last night was so inspirational and fantastic.
It REALLY IS time to "turn the page". Enough is enough.
NO MORE BUSH. NO MORE CLINTON's.
Her campaign 'dude' on Morning Joe is now with egg on his face ......his spoiled egocentric Hill......did NOT graciously congratulate Barack Obama on his WIN for the Nomination.

An absolute LIABILITY. Sen. Obama did NOT need Hilary to get this nomination; he does NOT need her to win the White House. All along, we've heard he can't win the nomination. He proved that wrong. He surely can take this all to the White House the way without her and her nutty husband.
Besides, we all know that no matter how angry and threatening her supporters are, MOST will NOT put another Republican in the White House by voting for McCain. Sen. Obama should NOT allow Billary and the AK mafia to EXTORT the VP nod from him. Too many people in America HATE her (and, now, Bill after his RACIST comments) as fiercely as her supporters love her and the media now has Sen Obama's back so no matter WHAT she tries, it will fail. Therefore, NO, she is nothing but a liability to the Obama candidacy!

Obama/Clinton would be a very strong ticket. She has a strong following and therefore, would attract more voters. (Look how well she did in the primary!) And she's well qualified, and would make a real contribution to the administration. For example, some of her health care suggestions are very good -- I would like her to influence some policy decisions.

Max, there is one problem. Despite her claims, the Clintons have not been vetted since they left the WH. There are the personal fortune, the undisclosed library donors and foundation donors.
Recall when all of those rightwing fringe lunatics were campaigning for Hillary to get the nomination. Why do you think so? It was because they had excellent opposition research to use against Hillary, but against Barack, they only had Rev. Wright, Rezko, Ayers, and now the priest...Guilt by Association at best! They actually fear Barack.
If Hillary were on the ticket, the same lunatics would go balistic running 527s. And the Lord only knows what they were planning to use against Bill regarding his social life. But I do remember that the NYTimes ran a story above the fold a few months ago that had many pundits
buzzing. The article alluded to some Canadian woman.

Stroud, you raise some good points. I had thought she was too polarizing, but then she did so well in the primaries... Maybe I'll change my mind -- I'll see what happens in the next few days. She *should* come out very very strongly for Obama, and put the full weight of her influence behind him. We'll see. By the way, I'm surprised by some of the virulently anti-Hilary posts I'm reading on this board. She's a competitor, not the enemy.

Would be good to bring her in to secure votes from her supporters but do we know if she has a different agenda. She may want to behave as if Obama is VP and she is the real President. Bill Richardson is my first choice too. He has great credentials, a warm personality, and he endorsed Barack during a difficult time in this campaign. (After the initial Rev. Wright flare-up, Bill was inspired and moved by Barack's speech on race in Philadelphia.)
And Richardson PAID a heavy price for that endorsement, with cries of "Judas" from the Clinton camp.
Bill Richardson is a true friend to this campaign. He and Barack have always seemed to have an easy and fond comraderie between them.
As for one candidate being African-American and the other Latino, my feeling about this is: AWESOME!!
Voters who cannot evolve past their ignorance (racial bias) wouldn't be voting for Barack anyway. Both of these men are extraordinarily gifted HUMAN BEINGS.
The bottom line in this election: we need leaders who will do the best job of governing and UNITING our nation.
And there is much to be gained with Richardson:
1) He has a solid resume.
2) He's a governor...chief executive.
3) Appeal to Latinos and Latinas.
4) Not sure of this, but is he maybe Catholic?
5) And finally...thank you, America and the Democratic Party, for NOT ignoring the Western United States this year!!
THE WEST IS IN PLAY...THE WEST IS IN PLAY...THE WEST IS IN PLAY!!
We gotta change that tired old electoral map!
A Western governor as VP? Yes. We. Can.

Hi Katherine,
Richardson IS Catholic which is another hit against him.
The white protestant wants someone like him/her.
It is not true that a partially racist white erson would never vote for Barack anyway. I have met some white people who are "uncomfortable" with a Black man being president. Once they see that he is going to be for all and not just for the interest of Minorities and his white partner gives him the OK, with time, some may become comfortable and vote for him.
If it is a full minority ticket, he has no chance to convince those people.
This process takes time. A lot of those types are Hillary supporters. I believe by the end of his first term, they will trust him more and realize that he has no secret anti-white agenda. It would help if Sean Hannity didn't keep trying to hint that he does.
No to 2 minorities. We must be realistic.
Richardson will be on the Cabinet. It is tough to decide btw him and Biden for Secretary of State.

"Two minorities". Wow, this isn´t a criticism, but it just tells me how screwed up the U.S. still is. As an american who has lived overseas for most of my life, I am surprised by how the U.S. slices and dices itself, particularly for a relatively young country full of immigrants. Why is being half "hispanic" or "black" a "minority" but being of English, Irish, Italian, Polish, etc. roots not "minority"? I hope the U.S. grows up one of these days (--not saying this to the poster--this is just a general comment on the U.S.).

Cynthia,
You are right. The US is screwed up (But I have hope). Just because Obama has come this far, we are taking it for granted acting like everything is all just about qualifications.
Two minorities is too much for one year.
Were it a vote for a position within the Obama family, race, ethnicity and gender would have noting to do with it. He can use this openness when choosing his Cabinet.
Unfortunately when trying to run for elected office, it is not that easy.

I was shocked to read this as well: that Hillary's supporters have indicated that they'd be ticked off if Barack chose another woman for VP.
Apparently, it would be perceived as "tokenism."
Of course, John McCain will be magically IMMUNE to such a charge.
* * * * * * *
Maybe McCain will take Clinton onto his ticket. They are such good buddies, always complimenting each other. Both voted for the war in Iraq, and both have passed that (mysterious) Commander-in-Chief test!
Her supporters (who, according to Huff Post were chanting "Fox News--Fair and Balanced" outside the RBC meeting), are planning to vote for McCain anyway!
Maybe she will take it to the convention. Or run as an Independent. Ho hum.
* * * * * * *
Before everyone has a cow, allow me to explain my core point.
After tonight, with her graceless "NON-concession" speech, Hillary Clinton's "unfavorable" rating is bound to go UP, UP, UP! Her "baggage" just got bulkier...and heavier.
In order to continue supporting her, the OLDER GENERATION...her base...will have to TURN their backs on a LONG-STANDING POLITICAL TRADITION.
The loser is expected to graciously concede, as soon as the final tally is made known...as soon as the results are 100% secure.
Remember Al Gore's beautifully-worded concession speech in 2000? Quoting his father's words about defeat...allowing the "glory" to shine through? We all cried. Even those who had been viciously against Al Gore shut up and took notice...that here was a man they may have misjudged.
That moment did NOT happen tonight.
* * * * * * *
I've been a feminist for 35 years, and tonight, I just want to crawl under a rock. Cannot understand what has happened to my gender.
Am aghast. And befuddled. Logic, reason, fairness...these have all flown out the window!!
* * * * * * *
When the Obama's took the stage in Minnesota, surrounded by 20,000 cheering people, and Barack delivered that beautiful address, order was restored to my world.
I think America will vote for decency.
So does Barack.

Sam Nunn. He is a Democrat who is the epitome of bipartisanship. He is well respected among older voters. He will easily trump Sen. McCain's National Security credentials with his long and productive career in the Senate. He is a white male southerner. He is good on television.
Sam Nunn reassures people who want change and don't like Republicans now, but do not want radical liberal change. Obama's biggest problem is that he is perceived as too liberal, with his international, university, and big city backgrounds.

I am so blessed to live in Minnesota. My son and I were down waiting in line in the early afternoon. We got great seats. I will tell you all something that was so remarkable before the doors even opened. All the people in line who were talking issues, who were talking about why they were standing in line so early, in the cold and sprinkles of rain to be there. There were 3 young people who will vote for a Presidential candidate for the first time. All of whom go to a highly Republican school and who admitted if their Republican partens wouldn't be happy, but they believed in him more. There was an older Jewish man, a vegetarian, Quaker woman, a man who was dressed in a suit, who most of us thought was a politician himself. An African American woman from Maryland and a Native American woman from Texas. And there was me, an older, white Catholic woman and her 21 year old son, who said he'd drive from Alaska to be there for this moment. I am not exaggerating this was the real group of people standing directly around me, talking issues, talking about how it was the inspiration of Barack Obama, that made many of us believe that under his leadership, all of us could make a difference. I've called and canvassed and donated and blogged here, and the reward was as much standing in that line as it was to see him declare victory for all that WE did it!
Thanks to so many of you for all the work you've done!
and thank you to my little girl Alli, who for the past 5 months, has had help with her homework in between my calls and blogging, who has went without some McDonalds and other things so that I could donate. Who has been shushed while I flipped from station to station to here the latest news.(and finally turned MSM off) And who, when all of those stations tonight announced he was the presumptive nominee, called my cell phone and shouted WE did it mom!! Amazing.
I am so excited to continue on to the GE with so many incredible people working towards taking back the White House. You all inspire me.

In recent years, I watched my Party lose Presidential election after election because people like my parents, self-reliant working class folks, continued to vote for conservative politicians whose true interests were with "K" and Wall Streets. My parents were modest and took care of themselves until the day they died. They had helped to build a free and prosperous country, they had come from dirt-poor backgrounds, no one helped them and they asked no one for help. But, like my husband who gets free medical care from the VA, they received generous government benefits from their military and civil service (promoted by previous Democratic administrations) which helped them and their children with free medical care, low cost housing and groceries, and retirement pensions. They received Social Security retirement benefits for almost 10 years before they passed away from deadly diseases. They were able to buy their own home. My sister and I received public college educations without crippling student debt.
The Republican Party, especially under Bush and Cheney, has almost destroyed the Middle Class Dream. My COBRA insurance ran out in 2006, and I was refused individual medical insurance because I had a pre-existing condition. I pay $515/mo from the high-priced State insurance pool. I receive only about $17,000 a year in a pension and part-time employment. My daughter has $15,000 in college loans to pay off as she begins her first professional job since she graduated last year. She can't afford a car (she rides her bike to work). I owe $7000 for a Parent Loan for my other daughter's college costs. I'll be paying that off for the next 10 years until I am 68. For most of my life, I belonged to a Union. It was the reason I had excellent health care, a pension, and a voice on the job. I remarried in 2006. We bought a home in the mountains east of Albuquerque but still haven't been able to sell his home because the mortgage crisis has made it almost impossible to find a buyer. We've paid 2 mortgages for the last 18 months, going deeper into debt. Barack Obama's campaign to restore the American Dream is highly principled. A lot of Independents and Republicans are going to vote for Senator Obama this November, and we'll see a majority of Congressional seats go Democratic this year because of this strong and inspirational leader.

Good Morning Obamanites!!
Congrats all you hope mongers and dreamers with an unshakable faith in your candidate!! This victory is for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!
As a typical older woman (49), I was cynical and afraid that America was too racist, Barack would not be able to raise the funds, and of course, the Clinton Machine was too established for Barack to crack through them.
The best thing that Barack had was the Movement, each of you on this blog, that worked each day to make what happened last night come true. I wanted it to happen so much but I had no way of doing anything since I am not even an American...I live in Canada.
Your enthusiasm, actions, donations, motivation drew many of us into your movement. Whenever I was discouraged, all I needed was to read this blog and I would be reassured.
Congrats to you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !! You still have more to do but at least you can have a victory dance for today!!

Congrats!!!!
And CONGRATULATIONS to all of us -- each of us made a huge contribution to this movement and to this victory.
We made calls, we made donations, we overcame our shyness in reaching out to total strangers. We put bumper stickers on our cars for the first time.
We knew the importance of this opportunity, this once in a lifetime gift to us of a beautiful soul -- Barack Obama. Not a perfect human being, but the perfect candidate and leader for our time.
This is our time, Obama-nation. This is our time.

Yes, congrats to us. We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for each and every one of us. Don't discount any bit of what you've done to contribute. We are not all Type A personalities that could phone bank or GOTV. But if you've started a discussion, or defended our candidate when it may have been difficult for you personally, you've made a difference. Continue to believe. Continue to demand that this world can be a better place. America, you are showing the world who you really are.

On another note... I hate to be negative Barack but I ask that you respect us, the 18 million, who think You are the better choice. If I wanted Hillary I would have voted for her SO PLEASE DON'T PUT HER ON YOUR TICKET. If you want to place her in your cabinet fine, or an AMBASSADORSHIP in IRAN would also be fine.

In 1963, a young preacher from Atlanta stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and said I have a dream... Barack was just two years old at the time.
In 1983, in my hometown of Chicago, Harold Washington rose up to be the first black to be mayor of Chicago... Barack had just graduated from Occidental College
Now, on this the 3rd of June, 2008, the dream is near completion as Barack Hussein Obama, Jr - MY SENATOR FROM ILLINOIS - has done what no other person of color has ever done.
He is one step away from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. And somewhere, Kunta Kinte is dancing a jig.
Well done, Senator.

DO NOT Choose Hillary Clinton to be your Running-mate.....
Other Better Choices,
John Edwards...
considering, the New England Democrats opted for Hillary...
Also, Mr. Obama is redrawing the map of Red, Blue States.... How about Ron Paul ? Even though he is a Republican. Is there any rules saying not to do that ?
I would recommend Condolezza Rice would be a better running mate for Mr.Obama than Hillary.

With all due respect, have you thought about how difficult this will make the governing process, if HRC is the VP? My concern from the beginning has been Bill's role. Surely you admit, he simply is a man with a huge ego, and he simply does not know how not to insert himself into a situation.
What if Obama wanted to adopt a policy that flew in the face of something Bill pushed for while pres? Bill could really add a lot of dysfunction to a highly stressful (that's an understatement) job.
Also, Bill has stated many times, that even if HRC was president, he would not suspend his activities as a lobbyist of sorts with various groups, international programs, etc. What a conflict of interest.
Lastly, many of us have been concerned for a long time, and many pundits agree, that nothing will enrgize the right like the name Clinton on the ticket.
Can you look at this as more of a smart strategic move, as opposed to a rejection of HRC?

Since you broached the subject, explain your thought process behind the decision to support John McCain if Barack decides to choose another person for VP. If you are a Hillary supporter, you are either backing her due to her stand on issues and belief system towards the people and government OR due to gender (although probably a combination of both). So, if Barack decides that she is not the best match for his presidency, you threaten to vote for McCain. Now, the belief system of John McCain diametrically opposes the belief systems of both of the candidates that the democrats had running and closely matches those thoughts of Bush/Cheney. So, please explain to us how you can make the quantum leap from supporting Hillary to supporting McCain, and if your reply mentions the words "gender, female, woman, or any other incarnation" I'll just have to dismiss your reply as lunatic.

OBX -- you are so right. Those two words describe Hillary and Bill. It's scary that they're so persistent and that they're so negative. They tear Obama down as much as they can, and then say they want her for vice president. This makes no sense. They cannot be trusted! They would undermine him all the way. And many people would think he isn't serious about wanting real change in Washington.

Why tolerate such atrociously selfish behavior? Would we tolerate Hillary type behavior from our children? Don't we tell them to be good sports and yet we don't think we should hold an adult politician to that standard?

After the statements made... I think a whole lot of thought should go into that.
If someone tells you and shows you who they are believe them.
We can however help with this by continuing to raise money and registering new voters all the way up to the last day possible. This can offset McSame while voiding out the number of her voters that wont vote for our guy because they lack common sense.
We can be a part of the change we seek, by changing the way the game is played.
We need to work hard to maintain the interest of everyone who voted during the primary and add to it...
What we have accomplished is easy compared to what is ahead.
Fight like hell until we win...

I don't think Obama can risk it. The Clintons are like a poison gas attack on the battlefield. As long as the wind is behind your back the gas lays waste to your opponent. But if the wind changes direction, or there's no wind, you choke and die by your own poison gas.
The Clintons cannot, will not, be managed. You cannot control them or people's reaction to what they say or do. HRC as VP would always be a huge liability, offsetting whatever potential benefit she might bring to the ticket.

I think she lost all "right" to be offered the VP slot when she decided to run in this race to the very end. I hope the Obama team told her that before today. That by not conceding before, she was consciously giving up the VP slot.

So, in every previous primary season in which there weren't two candidates campaigning against each other, ??????
I'm wondering what your conclusion is????
Were they undemocratic????
Did they ignore the voters in the last states??
Well, this is obviously a poor argument on your part as my post makes clear!
Next.
I'll point out the math if you make the objection I anticipate.
And to that, there is no answer.

They wouldn't have cancelled the voting in the remaining states if Clinton had conceded that she had no chance of overtaking Obama for the nomination. Just as the republicans did, the voting would have continued and people still would have made up their minds. Even with McCain as the presumptive nominee for 3 months now, about 25-30% of the voters in each state voted AGAINST him.

I really hope Barack doesn't choose Hillary for VP, but I will vote for Barack regardless of who he chooses.
Have you heard how McCain and Clinton fawn all over each other? She's pretty much concerned with her own self-interests, but I'm not sure how well she'll play "bad cop" against McCain since they're such great friends. She'd be better as McCain's VP!
I don't want her as the VP anyway and the fact that I doubt her inclination to go after McCain and Co., makes her even less desirable.

I think that every "HRC for VP ... what do you think" post on the blogs today is astro-turfing at best, trolling at worst.
I'm guessing the folks who usually frequent the HQ blog are approx 9 to 1 against HRC as VP.
I think HRC on the ticket elects Pres. McCain.

Good for you! "Blueprint for Change" is 60 pages long, you know....
I wonder if there's a cheat sheet comparing the candidates' differences on the major issues, like on one 8-1/2"x14" page. I think that an item like that would be the biggest benefit for getting out the word to people who still haven't had time or access to Senator Obama's stance on the issues.

We cannot afford hate or attacks.
Grow up. Be gracious.
Look at it this way: Every Hillary attack we post here is a possible TEN or more of her supporters we will not have in our camp come November. You can have all the negative feelings you want.
Posting them here has consequences. It hurts Barack.

I still like Wes Clark. I know he's not a great campaigner but you don't need to be ofr the no. 2 slot. And he's a 4 star general, so he brings military prowess and he was an HRC supporter so it would be a unifying ticket!

I like Kathleen Sebelius (Kansas governor) for Obama's VP. Read below:
Kathleen Sebelius has served as the 44th governor of the state of Kansas since 2003. She is:
1. 60 years old. (born Roman Catholic in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 15, 1948)
2. Married (husband is federal judge). They have two sons
3. Father (John J. Gilligan) was governor of Ohio (the first father/daughter governor pair)
4. She served in the Kansas state legislature
5. Elected Kansas Insurance Commissioner, refusing to take campaign contributions from the insurance industry
6. Vetoed the “concealed weapon carry law,” although she believes in an individual’s right to bear firearms. State legislature eventually overturned her veto.
7. Did not support amendment to the state Constitution against “same-sex marriage.” She felt the state’s existing law was sufficient. The amendment eventually carried with 70% voter approval.
8. Her position on abortion is “pro-choice.” She is backed by Planned Parenthood. Her “pro choice” stance has caused problems with the state’s Catholic Archbishop.
9. She vetoed abortion legislation in 2003, 2005, and 2006.
10. In 2005, Time magazine named her one of the five best governors in America, praising her for eliminating a $1.1 billion debt she inherited, ferreting out waste in state government, and strongly supporting public education — all without raising taxes. Also praised for her bipartisan approach to governing, a useful trait in a state where Republicans have usually controlled the legislature.
11. In February 2006, the White House Project named Sebelius one of its "8 in '08", a group of eight female politicians who could possibly run and/or be elected president in 2008.

The Obamanee!!!!
This is what I've done:
Relished the historic nature of tonight (the world has been changed in one fell swoop) and our success at gaining the nomination.
Scrolled down to the bottom of this blog, clicked on Contact Us, and sent a comment to HQ expressing my opinion as a part of this campaign that Barack has earned the right to choose whomever he is most comfortable with as his running mate. (My suggestion IMHO was Bob Casey).
Gone to that other candidate's website where there is now a new "Send Me Your Thoughts" link right on the front page and sent my thoughts, i.e.---Concede, Endorse, and give up the divisive phony popular vote argument---
I remained respectful though...
Donated $10 to the DNC
Made a vow to myself and my friends that I will discontinue, from this point forward, even uttering that other candidate's name. From this point forward we are focusing all of our attention on John McSame.

I am so sick and tired of what Hillary wants and what Obama has to do to placate her. Here, Hillary, how about this- how about you walk your supporters back from the ledge, you work your ass off to elect Obama, and we re-elect you in 2012 to another term in Nita Lowey’s Senate seat where you can hang out for four more years with your BFF John McCain, whose ass we are going to kick in November? And if you kick Penn in the nuts, good on you.

What better proof that Hillary doesn't give a damn about women as a whole but only her own entitlement. We should give it to a woman, Kathleen Sebelius, who will bring over the older white women, who helps in Ohio and Kansas, who is a devoted Obama supporter, who can be counted on to continue the Obama policies if something were to happen to him, and would be positioned to be first woman president in 2016.
Now is the time.
No to Hillary!

It's not technically official until convention. In terms of finances, there is a limit on donations during primary season and then new limits for GE. Not sure what the limits are but Obama can continue to campaign until convention on primary donations and then have new donations for GE.
