The decision to have only one caucus site in all of Sarpy County appears to have been a bad one.

Reports are coming in that the caucus site in Papillion is overhwhelmed.

Thousands have turned up, when organized expected only several hundred.

They are still registering.

Traffic is backed up on Highway 370.

"All of Sarpy County is at this school and they've run out of registration forms," said Cindy Perich, of Papillion.

She had taken today off to caucus on behalf of Barack Obama. But, she left. It was too chaotic.

"It's totally unorganized. I'm totally disappointed with the (Nebraska) Democratic Party," said Perich.

It doesn't look good for Clinton at Monroe Middle School.

The line to the Clinton box is empty. The line to vote for Obama is about a half block long.

Just read on another thread that a site had 4 - 1 Obama supporters. out of 10 delegates, obama got 8.

I think WA and LA will be much closer, especially LA.

Not good...it's such a disgusting thing when people want to particpate in this democracy but can't because there are aren't enough registration forms or ballots or whatever else. Sad...just sad.

We have to be a little understanding of the Democratic hierarchy. Besides tendding to be be "old thinkers' we the people have not shown up so well in the past. They knew attendance might be higher and while they did not begin to fill up the hall in the past had no idea really what would happen with barack in the offing.

Our chair was SO glad we had a blizzard the night of our Kansas caucus. We filled the VFW...almost exclusively with Obama supporters. He wouldn't have know what to do had there been good weather. Because we wouldn't have been able to get them in, we would have had to go the the highschool or someplace. Barack brings in participation.

I agree. Lots of people just don't seem to get how much of a game changer Barack is. They keep underestimating the impact he has on voter turnout.

Just got home from spending my Saturday with my husband and daughter canvassing in So. Providence, RI. It was a fabulous experience and I feel so good that I am making my own little difference for Barack. Met some lovely people who are so enthusiastic that it warmed my heart on this cold New England day. If we all just continue to do our part we can change the world. I'm fired up and ready to go!!

I got home about 30 minutes ago after walking
3 1/2 hours for Obama and us! Great experience. I met a couple of Hillary supporter, gave them my pitch for why I was supporting Obama and convinced one to switch to him. Friends have called to say that Obama supporters are out walking all over Maryland and D. C...getting out the vote for what is being billed as the Potomac Primary. This was one of the best walks of my life and I'm canvassing again tomorrow!!!!!!!!!

But you know what is even sadder is the fact that everyone knows that this year, the turnouts ARE AND WILL BE much bigger - why is it that state after state, there is underpreparation? Is it that the officials are not listening to radio, tv stations about what happened in other states? Why this disenfranchisation? Next week in Virginia, Maryland, DC, THERE WILL BE HUGE TURNOUT --- PLEASE PREPARE NOW IF YOU ARE AN OFFICIAL.

It's a matter of what is conceivable.

NV prepared for a turnout ten times bigger than before, and got one almost a hundred times bigger.

NE prepared for a ninefold increase, and got a thirty-fold increase.

"Huge numbers" for organizers can seldom be imagined to be HUUUUUGE numbers. They just have no experience by which to predict it.

I agree. It seems as though they haven't been paying attention. Every state should err on the side of caution and have a plan for huge turnouts in the Democratic primaries - and the general election? Fuhgeddaboutit. It is going to be huge. I keep dreaming Barack gets 80% of the vote in a huge turnout...

I just called 20 people in Louisiana and 7 are for Obama. I left messages for all the rest. Maybe they all were out voting when I left the message. One older woman didn't know voting was for today. She thought the primary was next Saturday. She was really sweet and was glad I called to remind her.

Everybody, it is not too late to call Louisiana. It is still listed on the phone bank. Find the link others have posted here. It is easy and fun. The people of Louisiana are very kind and mostly for Obama. They were just as excited as I am about Obama. Please get on the phone and call. I've made over 200 calls to Louisiana in the last 24 hours and got only 1 clinton supporter. How can it not go our way? Just keep those calls coming! I've talked two several people today who said they wouldn't have bothered to vote, but now that I wasw calling they would!

A lot of our New Orleanean folks work in Casino's in LA and Mississippi. I don't think there was any foresight to set up precincts nearby. I know that several Union leaders have been spending lots of time in New Orleans because of the building boom and they have a lot of influence on folks. Also Latino's are working under Latino unions..I don't think many were aware of all of this (except the Democratic powers that be) Mississippi workers from LA I'm sure were scheduled to work long hrs today and they need the money. Mayor Roy Nagin wasn't any help and I don't know where Senator Leiandreau stands..more of a battle than we anticipated.

I am truthfully in shock. I really want to be able to vote for Hilalry if she beats Obama because I consider myself a Democrat. But each day she is proving that she is untrustworthy and willing to do anything to get elected. Look at this! Outrageous.
