Hundreds of Chicagoans showed up to cheer on their native son at Soldier Field this afternoon. The crowd erupted when Barack vowed to bring an end to the war in Iraq and provide affordable health care for all Americans. As always, Barack reminded the crowd that change in this country happens when people organize together from the bottom up.
Families for Obama were out in full force.
After the rally, our dedicated volunteer staff signed up scores of supporters.
In a few minutes, Barack will join other candidates for the AFL-CIO Presidential Forum-- we'll keep you updated on the blog.

I have been watching the political pundits today and I am done. I am tired of hearing about Barack's inexperience and the inevitable coronation of Hillary Clinton.
I will no longer listen to the post debate spin or the Hillary supporters that are cloaked in the disguise of "political experts." All that does is bring me down.
What I will do is campaign for Barack Obama and spread awareness about his campaign.
I swear, if I listen to another news show I will go crazy.

Good piece Tobby. There is no way Hillary gets unpopular in debates subjects can lead in polls and come short on donation. Watch her the 3rd quarter, Bill would afford doing much: by saying the country needs more diplomacy...He did not agree with his wife about her ruling out active diplomacy she attacked the Bush Administration months before.
Mistake ONE: "I will retaliate agaisnt an Al-qaeda attack. Where? She could not tell as the network is stateless"
Mistake TWO: "America is Safer than Before 911"
Mistake THREE: "Frankly, Obama's statements (about Pakistan and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan) were naive and Irresponsible"
Mistake FOUR: " The Washington DC Lobbysts represent the American people"

Tanner,
You've got the right idea. We must all recognize that the media is part of BIG CORPORATE MONEY and their owners are behind Hillary, Inc. This is why Hillary is for lobbyists. One hand washes the other.
Edwards made a reference to the Fortune magazine edition that featured Hillary, Inc. on the cover. It said something like 'Hillary Is Good for Corporate America.'
If Hillary is good for corporate America, you would have to expect corporate America to back her. The media are very much part of corporate America.
The media and other corporations and lobbyists are protecting their investment in Hillary, Inc. That's what's happening. When you understand what these ruthless greedy people are doing it makes it a little easier to take.
Their goal is to depress Obama's support. We can't let that happen. That's what they want. They know it's going to be hard to beat him because the people are behind Obama.
I believe Hillary, Inc. hired Wayne to try and depress support for Senator Obama on this site. It was a full-time job for Wayne just posting negative comments. Why was he so obsessed with Senator Obama? He was trying to draw away his support.
Lets all continue to work hard and prove that the power is with the people. Whenever you need a lift, visit the site. Someone will be here to give you Obama inspiration.
P.S. - Wayne wasn't necessarily a he.

Maybe it's time for a candidate like Obama to "de-mystify" the role of the presidency. NO president knows it all. NO president has ever come close to being an international political magician. NO president can speak as a one man authority on any subject. That's why this democracy is a team effort by definition. That's why all Presidents surround themselves with smart people.
Hilary is successful at giving people the impression that she has the knowledge, the power and the right positioning, but she isn't as successful when it comes to conveying conviction for dramatic change in America. No doubt about it, she is the "establishment man" and proud of it. To the contrary, Obama is the new man of action on the scene. He must break the spell and let people see the true charisma and genius he brings to the job. It's time for Obama to talk turkey with voters about the mystique of some who claim to "know it all".
Put the candidates in a contest with 5th graders and they could all look like idiots. That's because they are all human. Let's face it: What counts is conviction about necessary reform and the guts to go and act on that conviction.
Obama will make a higher quality president than we have seen since Lincoln. The force be with him.

Bottom line..Union folks USED to love the Repubs, now they certainly have had enough of Bush's crap & want to "clean house" so they are looking toward the Dems.
Here's were it gets interesting ---The hard core Union folks certainly won't vote for a woman ( EVEN if they liked her--which in this case they don't)----so that leaves our guy Obama
What issues are at the tops of their list? ---- Ending the war, theirs job, the economy, health care & someone they trust!!!
Well Obama gets 5 out of 5 on the issues ( so folks I wouldn't be overly concerned about trying to getting their support).
Obama is good for the union people & stands on their side ---& I believe they already know that.

Hillary is full of IT: she thinks she is the only political figure authorized to talk about some hot subjects: "Think big but don't say everything you do". WHO IS SHE THINKING SHE IS.
Hillary always wants to play the role of "mothering" the boys on the stage. Can somebody stop that trend? To be precise, can Obama point out that fact and force her to focus on specific details (not jokes and anecdots) and tell the American people the meaning of what she said last weeks on a IOWA radio interview and Obama's statement in his strategy on Pakistan?
The Bush Administration says it all the time: Pakistan needs to act... Did not rule out taking out Al-Qaeda "if Musharaf wouldn't"
She needs to stop pandering and tell the American people what is true about what she DID to the country with her "Iraqi vote" and what she thinks on doing to redeem Americans from a mistake that initiated a foreign policy "disaster" of our generation: Obviousely, nothing, as she won't bring a magical solution to it, we know it. So, she is a looser on foreign policy debate: Make NO mistake. Biden, Dodds, and Richardson want to play hardball. They are 2 "Insiders" of course and one governor who say yes to taking money as well. The winner on that lobbying money debate are Obama, Edwards and Kucinic.
Also, Barack Obama needs to get out of the "race" game these DC insiders are trying to confine him in. He is not a candidate of the African-American "cause", like they intentionally push Sharpton and Jackson to run their past campaings. Sen. Obama is (and he made it clear from the begining) the candidate of all americans.
I found the media playing the same "race" game too: why would MSNBC ask a Barry Bonds question out of the blue only to senator Obama. I think it was a dumb question, while giving Hillary a way to gain scores on Bush attacks with the Katrina Relief.
We are not stupids, we are Americans...Now I know why 2008 will be "different" from the 80's. You can't lie to the American people saying: "... the lobbyists represent the deep American people." WHAT AN INSULT? Guys the more the media will upset us, we will go out and rally more people for Obama and contribute to the campaign. THEY don't own AMERICA!

The post-debate coverage on MSNBC was appalling and I just tild them so. Here's what they got:
As a Hardball fan and a daily viewer, I was very disappointed by the "Clinton coronation coverage" after the debate. I've always enjoyed the fact that you didn't buy into the normal "spin" being put out by campaigns. But this time you appeared to be drinking the kool aid being served by the Clinton campaign.
For example, I haven't heard you question the "experience spin" being put out by the Clinton campaign - what is different about Hillary's 8 years as first Lady from Laura Bush's? I don't hear anyone saying that "experience" qualifies Laura Bush to be the next President. the Chris Matthews I'm used to watching wouldn;t have swallowed that line.
What about the "we can't answer hypothetical questions" spin? How are voters supposed to make a decision about the best qualified candidate, if we, the voters aren't able to gain any insight into what, and how candidates think about critical issues like our foreign policy approach, the use of military force and the alternatives in countering terrorism.
I always looked to your show to help inform my thinking, but tonight was a big disappointment.
Let MSNBC know what you thought!

Pat Buchanan is making me ill! Clinton won??? He obviously didn't hear the boos. Obama stood his ground and put Clinton and Dodd in their place.
Clinton looked like an idiot - I do not believe in engaging in hypotheticals......
Obama looked smart it's not just Washington insiders who are entitled to know.....

By now we should all realize that it doesn't matter what Hillary, Inc. says.
The media and Washington pundits will say she won regardless.
It doesn't even matter anymore. Lets just work hard and educate the people on behalf of President Obama.

I hate the format of this forum. They put Hillary in the center, and Barack off to the left of the stage. Keith Olberman is horrible! He's tossing Hillary softballs, while giving Barack wild pitches.
As usual, the Clinton-owned pundits are going to declare her the winner. Total bias!

When and where was this debate held? Was it televised? And, if so, is it going to re-air anytime soon? And, where?
I didn't know that this debate had taken place!

Not only are they calling Hillary the winner, but they are already predicting a Clinton-Biden ticket. Talking about how Dodd and Biden are doing Hillary's dirty work and letting her stay above the fray by taking shots at Obama and Edwards.
Obama needs to start to differentiate himself from Edwards and show that he is truthful when he says he is about the people and not big money, where Edwards has picked up the act because it was a way to oppose Hillary. Does anyone know if Edwards took PAC money last time? How about the Kerry Edwards Campaign? My guess is that they did...which would be a great way for Barack to really nail him...

I just don't want to believe this country is still this racist. How do you explain this continued "spin" on Hillary, when it is blatantly clear that Obama won this debate? What is the message being sent by this fake poll? I am getting pissed now...

There’s an OUTSTANDING article about Senator Obama at CBS5. Please visit and comment to show your support.

Here’s an excerpt:
The choice that Obama implicitly offers to voters is not between competing ideologies, which is the choice traditionally presented in presidential elections and was the one provided prior to the invasion of Iraq in 2002. Rather, the choice offered by Obama is between pragmatism and ideology. Lacking the appropriate political vocabulary, and threatened by Obama's campaign success thus far, his critics mistake his unconventional thinking for naiveté, his nuance for inconsistency and his clarity for obfuscation

Oh my, what a surprise...
Wednesday morning's papers and pundits will all declare Hillary the winner..."majestic"..."Preside ntial"..."Another slam dunk!"
And many of you will ask the same question as me..."Are you kidding? Were we watching the same debate/forum?" Please...
The American main stream media (not our, you and "me's" media, by the way) is clearly displaying it's laziness, gravitation to the "easy" story, and clear bias...bias for the "sensational" story..."Ooh, wouldn't that be cool? Hillary vs. Giuliani, a NY fight?". "I can see the headlines...hope I get promoted...let's do lunch!"
People, stay in the trenches...speak the truth...fight for right...We are millions strong, and we will be heard...
