When we make a contrasts with HC, lets also try to insert your plan with the economy, war & other issues that are very important to the voters.
Electability must be paired with ISSUES! If you can do that, you can close the deal.

Hello all,
Minnesota is my home state, but I live overseas so I'm doing what I can from here in sunny Venezuela.
Below is a link to the With One Voice fundraising campaign for Senator Obama. It was started in honor of the voter in South Carolina who gave this movement $3.01 and a bible verse. She, like most of us, could not afford to max out her financial contribution. However, the spirit of this movement is not a few people doing a lot, it’s many people doing everything they can.
The goal is to echo our friend 10,000 times over and raise $30,100.
Please check it out, give what you can and pass the link on.

Thank you!

We've had events in MA during the NH season... I live in Boston and I've heard Barack speak 4 (FOUR!) times since November started. I think other Super Tuesday states need him more than we do. At least we have name recognition here.

Hi Rena,
You make a good point. Why is he so behnind in the polls in MA though?? Deval Patrick, Kerry/Kennedy all support him. I hope he picks up some steam in MA too.

Well, I think that some of it is people just don't think about it until right before they vote. So in a sense, it's possible that even though *I* was going to all of those rallies, people really hadn't thought a lot about him yet at that point. I mean, there were a lot of people on the common, and a lot of people over at the castle, but if he had an event now he'd pull even more, I'm sure. Now is definitely the time here, since people are finally paying attention... but I feel like other states deserve a chance to see him.
Hey - are you volunteering this weekend? We need your help! Come to the GOTV training tomorrow night!

But you do make a good point about MA lagging in the polls. It's kind of embarrassing. I think things will pick up with the Kennedy endorsement though! I haven't seen any new poll results for MA since then. Do you know when the Globe releases the next one?

But we really can't pay too much attention to the polls. If it shows a behind just take that as more work to be done. Obama cannot be everywhere, unless he has the money for ads, and supporters who phone bank for him. so donate and volunteer, do our part individually and together we will make a big difference. REmember Obama should not be where he is, said the skeptics, but we are making history!!

I am wondering about all the students here in Boston and throughout MA. Are they organized? Will they be coming out to vote? I live in MA too, and I do not see any visibility. I have a sign in my window and a sticker on my car. I ordered a yard sign, but on back order, I guess. It will be humiliating if we lose MA with Kerry, Kennedy and Patrick all endorsing. Does anyone from MA have any info?

Hi folks!
Estimates from the Denver Rally -- as related to me by a member of the Rocky Mountain News staff. 9000-9500 in the arena itself. Approximately 3000 in the overflow rooms. They didn't hazard a guess as to how many were outside, but my unscientific and unsubstantiated estimate is that there were approximately 2000 on the lacrosse field at one point -- that however, does not include the thousands more who bailed when they realized they were never going to make it into the venue!
I attended the Denver Rally today -- well, almost. I arrived, stood in line for well over two hours -- and only got into the foyer as they shut the doors, as thousands of disappointed and frustrated supporters still lined the sidewalks. Before long, those of us not actually in the arena got shuffled outside and onto the lacrosse field immediately attached, where they were going to set up speakers. Much to our joy and relief, Barack Obama himself BEFORE HIS SPEECH came out to greet us. After thanking us, he quipped: "Well, Denver, looks like we're going to need a bigger boat!"
So for those of you who watched the streaming live video -- sorry for the delay, but he was busy personally attending to the thousands of folks stuck outside and in the overflow rooms. As you well know, he mentioned us in his opening remarks as well, but his attentiveness and personal presence immediately relieved our disappointment -- and we got far closer than any of us would have in the arena.
And my excitement didn't end there. Post-speech I decided -- nay, was inspired -- to see if I could go in and shake his hand along with the knot of other supporters surrounding his departure. His progress was discernible only by the moving clumps of people and media boom mics and cameras, etc.
Afterwards, a group of people waited patiently for autographed books to be returned to them, and some held out hope that Obama would come back out. We waited. We learned he was in media interviews that would take more than an hour and that he was running behind schedule. We waited, occasionally speaking with a staffer or secret service agent. We waited.

Soon there were only 15-20 of us left in the whole building. We waited. The staffers told us his appearance was highly unlikely. We waited. At 1:45pm, a full 6 hours since I first began standing in line -- my feet hurt, I was cold, I was hungry -- (and thanks to the lookouts who gave us a thumbs us so we could start chanting "President Obama! President Obama!" ...Barack Obama parted the curtains with a wry smile, saying: "Go home, already! Go home!" He had very little time to spare, but...
Barack Obama looked me square in the eye and shook my hand. This patient, persistent band of people humbled and awed by the presence of the future president. We were weaked kneed and shaking as we dispersed, cheering and giddy.
After what I experienced today, there is not once ounce, one drop, one iota of doubt that this man is as warm, as compassionate, as amazing, as honest, as... as... breathtaking as we hope him today.
Fight on, my friends, fight on.

I just saw some bad news on CA...
apparently 50% of the Dem voters will be voting early--many have already voted. And Clinton's campaign said they have exceed all of their targets with this group. They have already predicted victory. SO we'll have to win much bigger on the actual day of the election. The polls are all trending toward Obama in CA, but that doesn't take into account the early vote which favors Clinton.
We just have to worked harder!!

Total BS from HRC's campaign. They are touting the total number of absentee ballots submitted, which includes Republicans, and somehow spinning it as the number of Democrats who have already voted. HRC's campaign really does not understand CA. Most of the people who submit absentee ballots in CA are Republicans. Thus, most of these ballots which she is claiming to have in the bank (which is hard to do when you don't even know how they voted) are not even hers to get.

The following is important - not whatever rhetoric is being spewed about early votes and so-called "bad news":
CALL, CANVASS, DONATE, TALK TO PEOPLE ON THE STREET.
If you're doing this, you won't have time to worry about a bogus, unsubstantiated statement.
I'll be in Santa Barbara CA this weekend to do what is needed to help Barack become our president.

Everyone please stop worrying about Hillary. All of you are playing right in her hands. We have been doing that for the last few days on this blog. Why is everything about Hillary instead of saying. I phone banked today and got 5 new supporters or I canvassed today and I have 10 new supporters. Her supporters are probably sitting and laughing at us because now we are not doing our jobs. We are sitting here complaining about stuff. Let's get on the phones and we can surpass her. Like they said we have her down to 6% points now. Let's go folks.
We can do this. However, we will not be able to do it if we keep concentrating on Hillary. It has to be about Obama and what we can do to help him

I think the gist of your post is correct. We must work harder and ensure that people turn out on Tuesday. I had five family members who initially doubted Barack's chances and were therefore leaning in a different direction. 3 of the 5 voted absentee at the first possible chance, and 2 went for Hillary and one for Edwards (despite my most persistent efforts to educate and convert them all). Each one of those 3 people have told me in the last 24 hours that they regret their votes. In the case of the Clinton voters, HRC's campaign tactics in S.C. made them regret their votes, and in the Edwards voter, he feels (rightly) like he wasted his vote.
I am very discouraged that 3 potential votes for Barack were lost as a result of their premature voting, and pray that this is not replicated throughout the state. The saving grace is that the 2 family members who have not yet voted are totally commited to Barack....
In any case, I would not doubt that as in Florida, the early voters in CA probably went overwhelmingly to Hillary, so we must dominate among February 5th voters.

Exactly the point I was making! And I think that story is typical of what has happened in CA. Hillary has won in the 30-50% (percentage from an AP article...don't have the link) so we need to win decisively on the rest! And Edwards dropping out, I think helps us!
I wasn't trying to bring people down, just provide some encouragment as to what we are up against.
I'm volunteering here and GA and telling everyone I know about the primaries and working on the to vote Obama.
My dad is in TN and I just got him to go and vote early today for Obama!

ALSO remember SK, in that early 50%, there will be some votes for Edwards. So if you look at a three way split between those votes, the Feb 5 votes in favor of Obama will, in my opinion, negate, or at least counteract whatever lead she may have enjoyed previously. Also, I must reiterate, it is all about the delegates, and there is no proof that these ballots are coming from "delegate rich" counties. If we do well on Feb 5 in the delegate rich areas, we will do well overall. We WON the delegate race in Nevada....

Wow, that's awesome if that's true :) I think I just inspired myself. Obama's positivity is rubbing off on me and ruining my cynicism. Darn it. lol

I'm originally from Minnesota. So, I think this is great.
In the meantime, I posted a series of videos on youtube about why I’m supporting Barack Obama for president. I invite you to give them view.
My youtube channel:
Link
This is my first experience with youtube, so the videos are in reverse order. Oh well.
The ones I think are the most interesting are “Support Obama 5: Experience: Destroying the Exception” and “Support Obama 2: Women’s Issues and Hot House Flowers.”
Support Obama 5:
Link
Support Obama 2:
Link
In Support Obama 5, I take on the argument that because Hillary Clinton is the most experienced candidate, she’ll be the best president. If we can find an exception to that argument, the argument is not valid logically speaking. The logical fallacy is called “destroying the exception.” Of course we can find an exception. I’m hoping the term “destroying the exception” will enter the general vocabulary and make people think twice about the issue of experience.
In Support Obama 2, I argue that Barack Obama is actually the better candidate on women’s issues. I won’t get into the argument here. Check it out.
Let me know what you think of the videos, and if you like them, I invite you to spread the word, especially about the “destroying the exception” video.

of Barack to all the older people you know
(and don't know!)
Link
Also hand it out to older people coming to
the polls on Feb 5th (legally, you must be
beyond a certain distance from the polling
place to do this, depending on State law)
Nothing will sway someone of that generation
who has any potential to be swayed more than this!
People who can translate into Spanish should
translate the endorsement and those in Hispanic

This is GREAT news... This is her homestate, if the media pick up this, it will automatically give us a 3-4 % gain. That means NY is in play.
If we are able to get 1 out of every 20 Hillary voter to change their mind, that is a 10 % gain. In other words we would be leading...

At 45% she will be too much to overcome but if we can keep it within 10 points and have smart targeting of districts we could get a LARGE chunk of the delegate vote, small enough to be offset by IL.

Actually I was reading the polls crosstabs and the most surprising thing is that nearly 20% of African-American voters are listed as undecided in this poll. Upon closer inspection most of these undecided African-American voters are middle-aged men and women (45 to 60). This is great news as it means we have a lot of upward potential in NY while HRC has basically maxed out with her core supporters. Long story short our NY people need to canvass middle aged African-Americans hard. We do this and pick up a majority of JRE's supporters and we could win NY!

Some stories that should get everyone fired up:
My mother is 64 years old and a lifelong Republican, although she voted for Kerry in 2004. She is also unfortunately somewhat racist. When I told her I was going to South Carolina to volunteer for Obama, she made some disapproving noises and said "Isn't he a Muslim?" I explained the truth to her and told her why I love Obama.
So I just got off the phone with her tonight and she said "Aren't you happy Obama won SC?" I said yes, very. Then she said "I've been reading up on him and his policies, and I think he's a very honest man with a lot of integrity. And it's amazing that the Kennedys have endorsed him. I fully believe that he will win the nomination and the presidency." Then as we were discussing various things about our lives, she said "Just like Obama says, YES WE CAN!" This just underscores Obama's universal appeal and the fact that the Kennedy endorsement does matter, even to Republicans!
More evidence that there's something in the air - When I was canvassing in SC, everyone was extremely FIRED UP and excited to vote for Obama, and when I've made phonecalls almost every person I talked to in MULTIPLE STATES was an enthusiastic Obama supporter.
Finally, recently I've had a friend who was a Hillary supporter switch enthusiastically to Obama, and a friend who was an Edwards supporter switch to Obama!
So, let's think POSITIVELY! We can DO THIS! Don't let the polls and pundits get you down! Barack has proven them wrong time and time again!! YES WE CAN!!!!!!

Yes, the Clintons use alot of "street money". On Sunday during the roundtable on George Stephanopolus' show (what's that show called again?) Anyway, they mentioned how the Clintons even pay ministers to get their parishioners to go vote.
Cokie Roberts noted that Barack Obama does not do that and that in SC the people voted for him because they wanted to, not because someone who was paid told them to.
I was not aware of this practice. I think it is so disgusting.

Hi there all. I had the flu yesterday and was in bed all day! I came on for a little bit to drop in my lines of encouragement when it seemed to be getting bad on here. It is funny to see how many trolls come on here everytime we are doing well.
I have not had the stomach flu for something like 15 years, I know it is because I have been so worried about this election. I talked about it a few days ago. Worried is not the word I guess, I am just so engaged I seem to feel every set back or negative comment to my core. I have learned how to brush it off almost immediately most of the time because this campaign always seems to be right on the TRUE PULSE of what is going on. This is a brilliant campaign!
The supporters are by far the most supportive and dedicated people I have ever "known". The managers and administrators are smart and fast acting. They have really been ahead of a lot of things that we pushed for them to jump on, not knowing that they already had the best plan to handle the situation.
This should be a wonderful indicator of the type of people that Barack will have around him in the White House. There will be no need for worry that his motivation for choosing someone to advise him will be like that of our current President.
I am a proud supporter of Barack Obama because he is a man that can get us all to work for the betterment of this country. Unlike the other candidate that I feel wants to "take over" and make us do what she wants us to do. I do not need a mother, I need a leader that engages me and my country to be responsible for ourselves. A leader that will help us all when we need it, but yet encourage us to STAND UP and Pull everyone up with us!
I need a leader that leads by example!

Perfect Time Words,
I appreciate it. From the four photos in succession, it looks to me like Obama didn't even see Hillary. McCaskill asked him a question as she got closer to the group. And it is clear she was reaching out her hand to Ted. Not Obama.
You guys, I am usually very positive and I feel really good about Tuesday, but I gotta tell ya, I'm really tired of the games. Please tell me, am I supposed to just laugh at this stuff? It's just not funny to me. This man's integrity and reputation is in question over this lie.
On another note, one of our posters, Arlene, has come up with a great idea for all of us at the same time to close our eyes and imagine Obama taking oath at his inaugeration for the Presidency. The power of visualization. We would do this at 7:00p pacific, 10:00p eastern. It was suggested to do 15 minutes but I think a few seconds is enough. Just to see it in our mind and really feel it happening. There's a lot of power in that. It's right out of the ideas of Wayne Dyer and Jerry, Esther Hicks/Abraham Teachings and "The Secret". So, in about a half hour or so, let's try it. There are probably at least 100 of us checking in and out here on this page.

Hi Laura, last Sunday we registered 70 students, up to over 100 now. Students are phonebanking to Feb 5 states every night this week. We are in the student center registering and recruiting vounteers (have over 100 names now). After Feb 5, we'll have less than 30 days to go.
Let's keep it close on Feb 5. We can win Texas. Our community is ~150,000 with 40,000 students.

From now on it is utterly important for all of us to do all we can to help Obama be the nominee!!! He is not yet the candidate for the general election!!!! and HE CAN BE only if we act NOW before super Tuesday!!!
I am doing whatever comes to my mind and sometimes I have get great ideas from others...
Now my 2 cents:
- Please wear at ALL times an Obama T-shirt or a hat or button... VISIBILITY
- Your yard, door or window must have something Obama on it!!! even a handmade sign is great (USE bold letters, think VISIBILITY from 100 yards away)
- Your car, truck or bike must also have something on it, a bumper sticker or a handmade sign... VISIBILITY
- Put an Obama footer in all your e-mails!!!!

Unbeleivable-
I guess everytime a guy cuts me off or interupts me, he is "snubbing" me. WTF
I'm a big girl- I can hold my own-
Second- if she wanted to shake his hand, she could have tapped him on the shoulder-
THAT's WHAT A REAL WOMAN WOULD HAVE DONE.
Go away lady-
you make us strong women feel like fools that you actually think you represent us.

It's too petty to even talk about. Matthews sounds like a gossip queen talking about a photo a stupid photorapher took.
If the media are such good mind readers they should start reading Bush's mind and quit trying to read Obama's.

I'm not concerned about it. It makes absolute sense to me. Those folks are here and they're on the road. If you ever get into an accident with an illegal immigrant you'll wish they had a license and insurance.
The opposition is bound to rehash this issue (even though it was thoroughly covered back in November) so we just as well get ready for it.
It's insane to not give illegals a license when they're already here.

That is a big issue here in California. Gov. Schwarzenegger vetoed 2 bills allowing illegal immigrants to have Driver's licenses. I won't be surprised if this is brought up in LA at the debate.
Since Sen. Clinton does not favor this and Sen. Obama does, that may help sway the latino voters to vote for him on Tuesday.

One of our posters, Arlene, has come up with a great idea for all of us at the same time to close our eyes and imagine Obama taking oath at his inauguration for the Presidency. The power of visualization. We would do this at 7:00p pacific, 10:00p eastern once a day until Tuesday. It was suggested to do 15 minutes but I think a few seconds is enough. Just to see it in our mind and really feel it happening. The important piece of this is to do it all at once. There's a lot of power in that. It's right out of the ideas of Wayne Dyer, Jerry and Esther Hicks/Abraham Teachings and "The Secret". So, in about a half hour or so, let's try it. There are probably at least 100 of us checking in and out here on this page right now.

That could happen too. I thought I heard some said "the wall of Jerico collapsed when thousands shouted together". Now you can say it's sound wave, it's vibration, or whatever. There is one thing that DID happen. It's called UNITY. I don't see how it cannot happen again.

This is the question that barack can ask her:
1- Think that i`m a voter, why do you think i should vote you after you told me you were a pacifist, and vote for irak, after you vote for irak WITHOUT KNOWING THE RIGHT (or all the) INFORMATION ABOUT THIS WAR......why should i vote you after you change your mind in this VERY IMPORTANT issue where a lot of people died, a lot of americans DIED!, a lot of danger grew up in the world because of this war....
HOW CAN I TRUST YOUR JUGDEMENT??????
silence for sure
2- How can i trust you wont have "waste of time race talks" or sex scandals while americans are dying in irak or waiting for the goverment to change their life to wealth?
thanks!!!
lets go baracccccccccccccccccccck

I am so sad. I hyped this to my kids and we planned our weekend around this. I was kind of in a hurry signing up as I was at work and my place of business has very strict rules on internet use. I didn't quite understand how to sign up for multiple tickets. I didn't get a chance to look into it further until late tonight. Now I have one ticket, one kids and a friend I invited.
Mayor Rybak was on the radio this morning saying he didn't think the Target Center would fill. I guess he underestimated as there appears to be a waiting list. That may be bad for me, but it is great news.
So, my question is, what do you think the odds are that I will get even one more? If not, how do I give it back so someone else can go?

Anyone without tickets can either try calling or stopping by one of the Obama offices in Minnesota to see if they have any tickets left OR you can arrive early at the Target Center and hope to get in.
I went to a John Kerry event in 2004 that sold out and the people with tickets got in first and then anyone still in line after that was allowed to go in until all the seats were filled.
Anyone left after that went into an overflow area and had to watch everything on a TV they had set up.

Yes, that "PLEASE BRING THIS E-TICKET" IS in fact, your ticket to the big show! :) I'm headed down to the Target Center pretty soon to catch a bite to eat and then if I have to, stand in line to get a great seat! I'm 24 and this is the first time, when I've been able to vote, that I am PUMPED to be a part of the political action taking place in America! I think I may pee myself if I get close enough to shake this inspiring man's hand today!!
