The Obama store is log-jammed at the moment. But our website is helping to get through it! We recycle and exchange Obama merchandise; this way,

1. People who cannot afford gear can get it

2. People in upcoming states who can't get gear can get it.

3. Rather than buying gear on some other website (although a few people who are either foreign or have donated all $2300/4600 have bought some things for us from these places and donated their purchases. Honest to God, one woman has donated approx $5,000-20,000 worth of support packs!), people can get things for free and can donate that cash instead.

4. Extra, unused gear that people have can be put to good use.

5. Ideas are exchanged for people to make their own gear, and we accept those donations too.

According to the exit polls (this was reported on CNN nonetheless), Obama actually took the Hispanic vote from Hillary in the Potomac primaries today

53% for Obama, 47% for Clinton

Though it isn't much of a difference, it could inch over more and more in the next 3 weeks when it will be a major factor.

We had every demographic in the Potomacs: rural, elderly, every race, men, women, poor, rich, medium class, you name it, we got it! And since it was all on CNN, I doubt they would make fake numbers to support Hillary so it has to be true !

Now reality check:
Clinton apparently did not know her campaign was in financial trouble.. so much for competence;

Had to borrow money (deficit financing) to continue her quest .. so much for fiscal responsibility;

Could not congratulate her competitor... so much for her fair-mindedness as a woman;

Her staff lied to her .. so much for her ability to pick a team;

Had to use Bill to locate her problems ... so much for her co-independence ...

Does not realize that hope is a motivator ... or that the opposite of hope is hopeless.

I'm sorry that you felt offended by the other person's comment. This is a very inclusive campaign and women are a very key part of it. We all respect the intelligence of women, and we need to appeal to them with good strong, logical reasons for why he's our candidate.

In my own personal experience, I will mention that I have spoken with women who are drawn to Hillary Clinton based on their dream of seeing a woman in the White House. We need to work hard to show respect for that dream (a dream that I share and that I believe will happen one day - but for the right reasons, for the right candidate) while focusing on what each candidate represents and has to offer our country. To me, it is all about what each candidate has to offer. I am a professional woman and mother of two who supports Barack Obama as the choice this year who stands head-and-shoulders above ANYONE ELSE out there!

DON'T REST. We will not repeat NH. Keep working on earning each and every vote we can.

Remember, women are key to this campaign, so please keep criticisms (and there are many) focused on the reasons that she not be as good a leader for our country... lack of transparency, top-down leadership style, changes her positions on issues as popular opinion changes... but please whatever you do, steer clear of attacking her femininity. (This is the kind of baiting language that keeps back-firing for the Clintons!)

We both know that leaders should be judged by the quality of their character and not their gender!

Three important things for Obama and his supporters to remember:

1. The Clintons are not losers--they will fight, and they will go negative. Barack better be ready for something nasty to come out that they've been holding onto.

2. Clinton's main chance now (as noted by Pat Buchanen on MSNBC) seems to be in getting Michigan and Florida to count and getting superdelegates. If you want to avoid this write your congresspersons, senators, governors and state democratic parties.

3. Don't believe the hype: Barack is far from inevitable, and we best all keep our noses to the grindstone if we want to see our ultimate goal of a President Obama.

The strength of the American people lies not in the power exercised by our chief executive, but in the hearts and minds of every citizen willing to make a sacrifice for progress. That's the true message of this campaign.

She may try to say he voted for the funding of the war he has to say - that he had no choice because he had to support the troops, after she voted to put them there. I am a Mil-spouse, whose husband will be leaving for deployment #3. We have 3 children, I am also originally from N.Y. and was devasted by 9-11. Despite our homestate being attacked we never thought OIF was the right war! I am terrified that my hubby has to go back,it seems he is pressing his luck. Many spouses feel the same way. We do not want to lose our loved ones, and the unbeleivable thing is that Bush and the Republicans held up the 3.5%raises! (What gall!) We need some sanity. Obama is our voice of reason! He did not and is not swept up in the Bush-McCain War/Surge rhetoric. He is O-B-A-M-A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

In Henderson, Nevada, someone yelled "What are you doing on my porch CHINK!" at a fellow volunteer I was canvasing with.

He responded "I'm a Vet for Obama, and I wondered If I could talk to you about him".

The guy was embarrased, listened to him, and changed his mind and decided to caucus for the Senator!!!!!

No one has a power to reach older voters, even some with race issues they need to adress, like Vets do when they talk about Senator Obamas commitment to them!!!!

Senator Obama fought for PTSD screening and treatment, and for TBI treatment, and for Veterans funding, and is fighting for job placement assistance for our returning Vets. People need to KNOW his record!

Yesterday was the birthday of a Skinny Lawyer from Illinois. Here's something he said once.

I have noticed tensions rising and getting the better of us at times. It is not just me though, a number of you have contacted me through emails and my blog posts to let me know that you too have noticed the angst amongst our own supporters as they are dealing with negative comments or even just questions about Obama and his policies.

Many new people will be visiting our site to seek answers and SOME
visit to stir things up a bit, perhaps to vent their frustrations. Let's drop
the offensive TROLL issue, and address them with silence or simply
report them to the site Administration while informing the user why
they are being reported in as polite a manor as you can possibly manage.

The main thing we need to REMEMBER is the simple fact that ALL
Obama supporters are also Obama representatives.

WWOD: What Would Obama Do... He has that humble confidence that
we all must emulate as best we can at all times. Let's keep the negative
emotions out of these blogs please.

Stay informative and polite, NO name calling, and NO negative assumptions
should be made about new comers. Not all of them are really attempting to
learn anything about Obama. Some come here with misguided intentions.

If they don't take the time to read the information you are providing
them and they continue to be ignorant of the facts that are being given to them.... MOVE ON. They are not being honest with us or themselves, and it is not prudent for us to get involved with a push and shove contest with them. Their intentions are not genuine if they refuse the truth. New users should be thankful that in our open forum their right to free speech is honored here, unlike the censorship that they are subjected to on other candidates websites.

Do your best to NOT be an embarrassment to our group, and this
positive movement for change. I am guilty of getting worked up and
typing in things to our blogs that I should not have. Everyone makes
mistakes when they are under certain pressures, so just try to be ever
mindful of who and what you are a part of.

We are ALL in this together, let us always WORK as ONE.

NOT an easy thing to do with all of his success these days. And may I just say, what an amazing speech today in WI... He is on the right path and doing all that he can do to win this race. We just need to keep helping him more and more to really push him into the White House.

Obama needs us just as much as we need him.

By all means post it as often as you like, there is no need to give me any credit for it at all. Modify the hell out of it and put in your personal feelings, what drives you to believe that we all need to stay on message for Barack at all times. Not just on this blog but whenever we are faced with cynicism and doubt. We don't need to be flower children by any means, just humbly confident about why we support him. Point out policy differences politely, and why Obama will win against McCain, it's all fair game as long as it is done properly.

The post is at 400 words exactly, so editing it will require you to replace portions of it, so have at it and enjoy!

I agree - sometimes people have jumped too quickly and too harshly - notice how I and many others need to first state our support before throwing out some thoughts lately?

Anyway, even when that has happened, there have been many that have risen to the occasion. and, remember, in just one week we went through super tuesday, then just days before the next 4 states and VI then only 1 day in between to today's victories.

Many of us are sleep-deprived, with piles of laundry, sinks full of dishes, quick meals, unopened mail - you get the picture. Of course, every minute has been worth it, and, as we move forward, our numbers have grown. We have a full week to WI and HA (is that Ha or Hi - I knew before I opened my one celabratory corona! LOL)

Anyway - great job folks. I certainly think we have broken away tonight and the race is ours as long as we continue on, but please do take a deep breath, get a little rest, then....

I agree...I'm a big advocate for free speech, however, we must be on our best behavior and welcome ALL newcomers. All eyes are going to be on Sen. Obama. As we already know, lately this site has been overwhelmed...it takes me twenty minutes to open a thread on this site!

Funny that you mentioned the spell check for Obama. I was thinking about a way to do that also, but I don't know how the dictionary part of a text box is changed.

I called Microsoft to find out if there was a way to change the spell check on Microsoft Word documents hoping that they could add Barack Obama to future programs, or if they could develop a plug in that allows a user to add words to it's dictionary by themselves.

Unfortunately the guy who was in customer support was a little inexperienced in finding out who to speak with and he didn't have a computer to send an email to a tech department.

Yes, the exit polls actually turned out to be fairly accurate. Around 5:00 CT, Drudge had exit polls showing 2:1 leads in VA and MD and 3:1 in DC. The results in VA and DC are very close to those ratios (MD still too early to tell).

I wonder why the exit polls were right on this week and so far off last week during Super Tuesday?

I guess, who cares, we have some serious momentum going on now.

Tonight, Barack Obama won Virginia, Washington, DC, and Maryland.

That makes 8 wins since Super Tuesday for Barack. And, next week, more than likely he will win 2 more states. Which would bring his total win to 9 states and one territory (The U.S. Virgin Islands). That would be 10 total wins since Super Tuesday going into March 4.

Hillary Clinton may be making the same kind of mistake that Rudy Guiliani made with skipping the early contests and putting all of his eggs in one basket (Florida). He lost with that strategy. And, by Hillary pretty much skipping all of the states that came after Super Tuesday and talking about putting all of her eggs in three baskets (Ohio, Texas, and Pennsylvania), she may find herself in the same preverbial boat as Rudy. He did not win Florida. She may get a rude awakening if she loses one, two, or all three of those states that she is banking on. After all, Barack is starting to reach into her demographics with women (He came close to winning them in Virginia and did win them in Maryland and probably D.C. too.), Latinos (He won them in Virginia and Maryland, and probably D.C. too.), working-class voters (He won them in D.C. and I think Virgina and Maryland both tonigt.) So, it is possible that she could lose all three of those states that she is counting on (Ohio, Texas, and Pennsylvania). Then what will she do? Because most (if not all) of the states that vote after Pennsylvania have more demograhics that favor Senator Obama than her!

It would be nice if that happened, but there are a few differences.

Rudy didn't compete at all, so he was basically at a standstill when the other candidates were gaining momentum and name recognition. It's like racing against someone with a running start, Clinton has at least been in the race since the beginning, so for her to get some new momentum won't be as hard.

She also has an already strong base in those states as opposed to Rudy who was trying to build a base. His original lead was just based on speculation and high expectations instead of performance. Once they saw him, he kept slipping in the polls.

Even if Hillary wins those 3 states, if Obama can keep it close, and show that he is gaining in demographic breakdowns with Latinos and women, he'll fare much better. He can't afford to lose by more than 5 - 8%, otherwise his momentum might turn.

The best thing for everyone to do that is volunteering there is to knock on doors in low income areas. Also, you must be able to speak clearly and effectively. It would do more harm if you weren't able to communicate why Obama is better. Become an expert, practice speaking in front of your peers & in the mirror. Be certain that you can change a vote.

I don't believe MSN's or CNN's delegate count I go by Cbs news website. ALso, every single news site has a different delegate count. I watched the political shows on Sunday AbC said hilary had 9 million people vote for her so far then CBS show showed 8 million voted for each canidate. I base my on CBS news website because they show a breakdown of each state.

I wouldn't think that Edwards would be announcing his endorsement there. It doesn't make sense considering what John Edwards is hoping to get out of his support.

I think he'd be more inclined to do it at a big rally in a poor community with Obama, as opposed to a car manufacturing plant speaking about the economy.

He might be getting some other endorsements there, maybe from a labor union, or maybe he'll get a commitment from a company to increase fuel efficiency standards. Maybe he's just going to be more specific about his policies while the cameras and the nation are hanging on his every word.

It's got to be something along those lines in terms of where he's speaking and who else would make an impact in that area.

It would be nice to either get Gore or Edwards this week. Hopefully one or both will give him the endorsement.

the call for who won was based on exit poll data rather than actual numbers from the official precincts. the data was showing a 70% Obama vs 30% Clinton and thus they made the call for Obama

I'm so proud of my hometown (& surrounding counties ...) voting for my Senator (I live in IL now). A unique day when a vote in DC matters to the country (a reversal of the usual taxation without representation). Planning on heading up to Wisconsin Tuesday for on the ground GOTV for the primary there.

I cannot believe how Obama has inspired me to do things I wouldn't have imagined doing.

I've actually set up a fundraising page now. In the Jewish tradition of giving in multiples of $18 (the letters that equal a value of 18 in Hebrew are the word "chai" or life), I am asking that people give $18 for each of their loved ones whose LIVES will be changed when Barack is President. When the total hits $360, I will match it.

I don't know what channel you were watching...but MSNBC stayed with Obama till the end...and then joined McCain (while his speech was already in progress). Therefore, I missed the beginning of McCain's speech. I loved McCain's focus on HOPE and ending with FIRED UP AND READY TO GO...obviously, he's acknowledging that Obama WILL be the Democratic nominee.

Earlier I caught the annoying Jessica Yellin?? saying we really have not seen any real momentum yet. He wins one, he loses one, and he was expected to win these. But there is some good news for Clinton she took the late deciders by 2% What the HECK is wrong with this women? How is the majority of states on supper tuesday followed by 8 very convincing wins not momentum?

We must win WI HI, TX, OH, PA and everything else to shut these people up!

I am prepared to call WI all weekend with my free cell minutes. I'11 do HI too if that is incuded in my plan but I need to make sure first.

I watched the entire McCain speech. What I saw behind him was 3 white guys and two mature white women. Ok- one woman had dark hair. The white guy to his left was almost dead.

Dear John- Demographics drive destiny. USA is browner and more feminine than ever before 57% of registered voters are women. I love my white male brothers but unless you build coalitions with the rest of us- numerically you can't win if we show up !! That is what the FEAR MONGERS don't want to have happen. Let's remember that Senator McCain not only has given heroic service to this country, but he has consistently and eloquently argued against the use of torture. (What a low point in US politics that we need to continue putting forth arguments against the use of torture.) Obama has the better policies and we need to continue to argue (and educate)for his candicacy on the basis of the change in public policies--education, economic, militarily, immigration-- that he will bring to the White House.

There's work to be done in Wisconsin. It's a VERY important state and will increase momentum.

While I don't believe in polls, I see Obama down there.

Which means we, the people, need to get our butts in gear and double our efforts for a non-stop win that just can't be denied.

Barack's speech was amazing tonight, and I can't imagine anyone not voting for him in the progressive heart of America.

But we are the change we've been waiting for.

Time to keep on with the good work.

I can't call for a few more days.

A good analogy. I have another one:
It all comes down to an old fashioned shootout in Texas.

Regardless I am delirious with the vertigo over how far we have come. From 20 points down against the inevitable front runner to within three weeks of a potential knockout punch. To use another analogy, in the horse race of the primary we are coming down the stretch. Let make some calls, tell some friends, and donate some cash. I can almost hear in the distance the sound of something stirring - an America that believes again.

Hillary down plays and dismisses all of Sen. Obama's wins. A win...is a win...is a win! Our wins don't count (as she blatantly stated to the press)...but her wins are a big deal...yeah right.

When is the MSM going to wake up and smell the coffee...it is so obvious that Sen. Obama is winning because people LIKE him better...people TRUST Sen. Obama...he is a man of great INTEGRITY...plain and simple. I'm sure you all know that Clinton is pushing to count the results from the illegitimate primaries that were held in Florida and Michigan.

If you haven't already, consider signing this petition to Clinton and the Democratic Party. Send a message that they can't get away with changing the rules afer the fact. I signed it a while back. They are trying to get 10,000 signatures and still need over 6,500.

Al Sharpton just said on MSNBC that he will be ready to FIGHT that, as a civil rights violation, and that is why he is glad he has stayed neutral, so he can protect voters rights. He says they can't change the rules 3/4's of the way thru the game.

EL PASO, Texas (CNN) – For the second election night in a row, Hillary Clinton failed to acknowledge or congratulate Barack Obama after he won the day in dominating fashion.

On Tuesday in El Paso, hours after Virginia had been called for Obama, she stuck to her “Texas campaign kickoff” message and did not stray from an energetic, Lone Star-themed stump speech. She did mention Obama by name, only to chide his health care plan.

On Saturday night in Richmond, Virginia, Clinton spoke to a crowd of thousands at the state’s annual Jefferson-Jackson dinner, but she ignored Obama’s quartet of blowout primary and caucus wins that day as well (Obama also won the Maine caucuses the next day).

The courtesy of conceding a primary or caucus loss — and then congratulating your opponent — is by no means required. But it has become standard practice during campaign season.

Clinton congratulated Obama and John Edwards after their first and second place finishes in the Iowa caucuses. Obama returned the favor in New Hampshire, saying Clinton “did an outstanding job.” That courtesy continued through the early states.

But as the race has shifted to a delegate chase with dozens of states in play around the country, the notion of congratulating one’s opponent seems, for Clinton, to have fallen by the wayside.

Saw it. Read the comments and got a headache. I wish I could say it was only from the Clinton supporters.

Now not ALL the Clinton supporters were bad - I don't mind the "You go girl! Hillary 08" and "Don't count our girl out" ones... but when CNN, which we were all calling the "Clinton News Network" prior to SuperTuesday the Obama Network my head starts pounding.

Can I ask one favor of all my fellow Barack Obama supporters? IF you post on CNN blog, don't attack the Clinton supporters? We need them in November.

I support Obama in this election 100%. But I respect McCain and I, for one, will never be able to make fun of him for being old, or seemingly uninspiring due to the fact that I can't watch him speak, so mild mannered and affable, and not remember his service to his country or the injuries he suffered.

We've had an impressive month, but let's not get too cocky. The Clinton campaign is showing its cracks, but they're NOT down for the count yet.

As you can see by the article, Hillary is planning on deploying Bill again in Texas and especially Ohio, where he enjoys widespread support.

She's also running ads in Spanish in Texas. We need all available resources here and in Ohio to upset Hillary in one or both of her 'Alamo' states. If we can do THAT, THEN we can breathe a little easier.

Some undisclosed Hillary supporters (and superdelegates) are starting to admit that the strategic decision by Hillary's campaign to try and seat the Michigan and Florida delegates, shows "errant thinking" on the part of Hillary. Let's prove them RIGHT.
