The Oklahoma City Obama HQ is officially open! Supporters from over 22 towns and cities across Oklahoma attended. After a brief introduction and rundown of our upcoming events from the State Director, Carrie Glenn, we trained and sent out over 250 supporters to canvass their neighborhoods throughout Oklahoma to show their support for Barack Obama and his movement for change. Here are pictures showing just some of the many attendees of that day's events...
This past Sunday, Barack Obama delivered a speech commemorating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He stated,
In the struggle for peace and justice, we cannot walk alone. In the struggle for opportunity and equality, we cannot walk alone. In the struggle to heal this nation and repair this world, we cannot walk alone. So I ask you to walk with me, and march with me, and join your voice with mine, and together we will sing the song that tears down the walls that divide us, and lift up an America that is truly indivisible, with liberty, and justice, for all. May God bless the memory of the great pastor of this church, and may God bless the United States of America.
Supporters took the message to heart and over 50 marched together in Oklahoma City's annual MLK Parade. It was an inspiring day! Here are some pictures:
