Yesterday Wednesday April 9, 2008 I got the distinct honor to be one of two Volunteers from Bucks County to speak from my heart in Levittown befor Senator Obama took the stage.
I had the oppurtunity to be your voice as volunteers. And I got the chance to meet the next President of the United States.
All I did to get this honor was Volunteer! We need all of you to help from now until April 22nd!
See below my remarks from yesterday and please take some time to help us at events from now until April 22!
Good Afternoon Bucks County!!!!!!
How is everyone doing this afternoon?
My name is Robert Framo and I am a Proud, Loud, and Excited Volunteer for Senator Barack Obama right here in Bucks County!!!! I am humbled and honored by this opportunity to speak to you all today.
I first saw Senator Barack Obama at the 2004 Democratic National Convention.
Here was a man speaking it seemed directly to me about what I always felt our country should be about, the fact that WE ARE ALL A PART OF ONE AMERICA!
I was inspired by his words and his philosophy on how to help this country come together and I knew he was unique and special and hoped to someday get a chance to support him for President.
As I began to follow this campaign I told all my friends and co-workers even before Iowa that Sen. Obama was something special and that he would surprise the nation.
I remember last April telling my good friend Dave who is a Principle down in Delaware County, while we were golfing, that I was supporting Sen. Obama for President. Yes, I was on board that early on. Dave looked at me like I had two heads but I am proud to say that Dave is now a strong OBAMA supporter!
When it became clear that we here in Pennsylvania would have a definitive say in this election I knew that for the first time in my life I was going to volunteer and do all I could to turn my area of Bucks County into a Barack Obama stronghold!
I had heard about this campaign being run from the bottom up and when I went to my first meeting I was in awe at how many people were there.
It was just as Barack had said in that Convention speech in 2004, there were young and old, there were whites, blacks, Asians, Hispanics, there were men and women, and yes there were Democrats, Independents, and Obamicans!
I thought to myself, Sen. Obama is actually achieving his stated goal. He is bringing this country together but more importantly to me he is bringing my community together.
Since this meeting I have gotten to know so many other Volunteers from Bucks County and from my Team, BENSALAM4OBAMA! I am so proud to be a part of the Bucks County Volunteer team and specifically the Bensalem Team!
Today I have the great pleasure of telling you my story in hopes you will want to experience what I have by being a Volunteer in this historic campaign right here in our State. We need all of you to help us from now until April 22nd by making phone calls, going door to door, and helping us get out our Vote!
The greatest part in this campaign is that it is run by US, the people, the volunteers! It is run at the local level, because quite frankly WE know our area and WE know the people in our area! I urge all of you to get involved and I promise you this, you will never regret it.
As Senator Obama has said so eloquently, One Voice can change a Room, and if One Voice can change a room it can change a City, and if it can change a City it can change a State, if it can change a State it can change a Nation, and if it can change a Nation it can change the World.
Bucks County, your Voice and your help from now until April 22nd can change the World!
Thank You!
