Yesterday Barack Obama's Campaign for Change opened the doors of six new Regional offices to the public for the first time
With guest-lists including the likes of former Secretary of State Joe Hogsett, Evansville Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel and Congressman Joe Donnelly, these events served as a clear sign of the level of excitement amongst Hoosiers and of commitment of the Obama campaign to compete in this state.
Matt, a student at Ball State University, was thrilled to have an office opening in his town:
"I think it's great that the campaign is opening an office in Muncie. It shows that the campaign is concerned with what's going on in our community."
The Star Press described the scene in Muncie like this:
"A crowd of supporters made its way into the downtown office at 118 S. Walnut St., signing up as volunteers for the man they hope will lead the Democrats back to the White House. But for general fans of politics, the standing-room-only group inside the local headquarters was a sign that Muncie is more excited about this election than in any other in its recent history."
With 6 offices open now, a 7th opening on Monday, and many more scheduled to open in coming days, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.
