I am SICK TO DEATH of Clinton manipulating this contest. First, she ran on "2 for 1" - and when that canned, she started in on "3 for 1". Vote for me, she infers, and I'll bring Obama on board.
Asked about the notion of a paired ticked, Obama responded:
"We are just focused on winning the nomination. That is my focus. I respect Sen. Clinton. She has been a tenacious opponent. It is premature to talk about a joint ticket."
Premature? The correct response to that question would be (wagging your finger at the camera):
"I will NOT have political relations with that woman!"
Sorry - but you just lost my support, man.
It's me or the Clintons, Obama - and I think that goes for a ton of Independents. You can't have it both ways.

I agree Jack. There is no way in H*** I would ever vote for Clinton, even if she was chosen as the VP for Barack. I think you are premature in dropping him. I honestly don't think he will have anything to do with her after this is over, considering all the crap she has put him through. She isn't even finished yet! I want him to fight back, now.

He's premature in not dropping her. I'm not putting myself through this emotional turmoil anymore.
I'm an Independent - as long as he keeps Clinton in play, I'm out.
I can understand pandering to the party at the debates - but enough is enough.
The idea that he might even CONSIDER allowing the party bigwigs to push that vile, race-baiting, fear-mongering woman on us...
No way, man. I'm outa here.

One thing you have to realize is that whether Obama personally would rather have someone else as his choice of VP, this candidacy is a political "Biz", and the "party" may insist or persuade the nominee to take on the other as VP. So, sometimes we have to take the good with the bad. Besides, she'll be to distracted with Billy Boy up in the White House trying to get his groove back. So keep backing him.

That BS don't fly outside the party ranks. Did I screw up and post this to the "What's Best for the Democratic Party is Best for Me" fanboy group?

this is SO TRUE - and most everyone i know is independent or doesn't care - the kids are voting now, they see we have screwed so many things up - but the parties are over - the infomercial conventions have ensured THAT over the past 20 years - i would LOVE to know what howard dean really thinks about a lot of stuff - i hope he's keeping a diary to be published immediately upon his death - he may be in the most interesting position of any of us...

Also, given her "anything to win" approach -
I would actually fear for Obama's life if she were VP.
And sorry for the biting sarcasm - it wasn't meant as an attack. I'm just really PO'd right now.

It's just another one of her manipulation ploys - as in Vote for me, I don't care why. The media is playing a game as well. They seek a response to just about any comment that the other candidate puts forth. I am sorry you are upset with Barack's vague response, but vague is better than set, especially when she uses every word he says against him. She knows what she is doing, she over 30 years of experience creating divisiveness. I am of the opinion that she will not be supportive of him when he receives the nomination. When he is President, she will still be a senator and despite her fervent baiting, he has tried to set a good example.

At this point in the game, being "vague" about the possibility of forcing Clinton on your supporters is, at the very least, thoughtless - if not just outright cruel.
If it ever turns out that my support for Obama is in ANY WAY translated to support for Clinton -
It just make me wanna puke.

i don't know, do people HAVE to not "ruffle feathers"
my favorite definition of diplomacy is "the artful management of negotation to secure one's advantages Without Arousing Hostilities" - and it's one of the things i see barack do well and believe he will do incredibly well... it's something i admire george mitchell for -
i objected to barack denigrating ralph nader running - i would have voted for nader in 2000 and 2004 if i had voted at all - this is where the dems lose me - and all the bs of nader spoiling the election for gore - as RN says, gore ran stupid and he deserved to lose - i didn't like how he elbowed bill bradley in the early states - it was very "machine", not unlike the clinton-shaheen in NH and strickland in OH machine...
but come back, jack! we need you! barack does so much RIGHT - and, man, can you imagine the PRESSURE on him and on michelle - the clintons are tough to tangle with...mccain and the repubs will be a whole lot better -
