Without an iota of doubt it is now becoming increasingly conspicuous that the Republican Party members are unwilling to work with President Barack Obama led Democratic Party as the later sort to bring about a comprehensive change as opposed to maintaining the status quo!
America is supposed to be the country where freedom is epitomize but unfortunately the same elements of freedom is now being use to make every American to be living in bondage courtesy of the sometime unnecessary opposition to the president on practically every issues.
It is a thing of shame that the Republican Party Congress is accepting the Honduras debacle by legitimizing the coup that ended a democratically elected government and yet the same group will want democracy to thrive even at home. A very simple analogy of the detrimental effect of such inclination by the opposition is to beginning to consider a situation whereby the military can take over the government under the pretence that a serving president is breaching the constitution! Where is the court or the judiciary arms of government?
Recently I listen to argument as to whether students should be allowed to listen to the anticipated live broadcast of the President Barack Obama speech to them on the necessity of staying in school. What is so funny about the whole scenario is the fact that many of us hide behind this same element of freedom to attempt to miniaturize the uniqueness and at the same time the importance of the commander in chief of the United States of America. Irrespective of who may be the president it should be a thing of great joy and national expectation to listen to the president of the country.
We have unfortunately allowed our so called “freedom” to put us in a pragmatic state of bondage principally as a consequence of our partisanship as opposed to nationalism, myopia as opposed to broadmindedness, hatred as opposed to love and racism as opposed to oneness.
The Republican Party has been able to mobilize some section of the country to become more racist, divisive, dogmatic and full of mediocrity and unfortunately too even beyond imagination during the previous administration.
The simple truth is not far fetch; this is a case of some disgruntle and undesirable elements not knowing how to deal with having a minority president and instead pretending to be doing the American people justice by depriving them of real change that will make their living conditions better than the status quo. Let us not forget how we got into this mess in the first place!
I have therefore concluded that if the country is willing to work with President Barack Obama especially in context of his numerous articulations we stand a better chance of having better living conditions than the Republican Party members are willing to allow, while pretending to protect the cost of such services. It is still a thing of shame that unlike the president who is advocating for programs and objectives that will help the American people and the country at large, the opposition party is united in wanting the American people to be in perpetual bondage.
On healthcare, the Republican Party is opposed to true competition under the pretence of cost and ethical issues! However what is most unethical about its opposition to healthcare reform is to deprive Americans of the opportunity to have healthcare coverage that is affordable, and without preconditioned exclusion. The same sentiment is being carryover to the issue of whether to legitimize a military junta’s pretence to orchestrate a caricature election without a free and fair representation from the people of Honduras. This is neither democracy nor the protection of the people and yet the Republican Party members does not exhibit any iota of regret in sending this conflicting signal that might encourage military junta to start overthrowing democratically elected government.
We must not forget the ugly scenario that country such as Liberia in Africa has become as a consequence of allowing what the Republican Party members in congress are advocating. Is it therefore wise to accept the dogma that assuming a president of the country is not abiding by the constitution the military should take over government and immediately announce a time table for election?
The Republican Party in my opinion has lost touch with reality and has indeed moved to an unrealistic far right (wrong) position that will not have any of its articulations see the light of the day, since it is going to hurt the country and its people.
We cannot continue to live in bondage because of the Republican Party which is kind of exhibiting very discriminatory, dogmatic and mediocre objectives! It is about time it come to accept the reality of a President Barack Obama in the Whitehouse, period.
God bless USA
God bless Obama and Biden
