First and foremost, may I join the movement for hope and change in the country and Sen. Obama in once more congratulating Sen. Clinton for the already anticipated victory in the state of Pennsylvania, notwithstanding the excruciating and heart throbbing fact that it amount to inconsequentiality, when compared to earlier prediction, in which we were all expecting her to carry the state by a margin of a minimum of 69% to 21%.
I have listened to several schools of thoughts and authority in the area of political postulation, strategy and manipulation and contrary to the previously held notion that Clinton needed a double digit victory in Pennsylvania in the region of about 20% or more in order to provide her campaign with any kind of momentum, it is astonishing to now watch as some of the same strategist, sympathetic to her are once more changing the yardstick for effective momentum advantage.
The state demographic was suitable for a Clinton win; elder population, blue collar workers, the highest number of illiterate population and predominantly white (approximately over 80%). While I have attempted to listen and read about the outcome of the primary results and the other nitty-gritty part of the circumstances surrounding the process, I was shocked by the nepotism in articulation by most of the analysts, and in fact it beat my imagination that reputable journalists have belittle the integrity of their calling for very cheap and unpatriotic political gain and favors.
One very conspicuous example is the understanding being circulated by Fox news, ABC News and even on the web pages that the white voters, Catholics, women and blue collar workers have deserted Obama! For goodness sake, simple logic is all that is necessary to apply the effect a population which is essentially made up of less than 20% non- white will have in a primary between Obama and the home grown Clinton. Can the population of less than 20% translate to the 45% of the total vote won by Obama? The answer is an emphatic no, and that being the case, what does those who propagate such fabrication, sentimentalism, and dogmatism hope to achieve on a holistic perspective?
America is a great country that we all look up to as a guide to the way democracy should be practice, world leader in defending the weak nations, protector of mankind from poverty, nuclear arsenal and terrorism, coupled with its quest for global peace. With such an enormous expectation, why can’t our journalists borrow a page from the expectation of the country and also turn a page for good?
Retrospectively therefore, the Pennsylvania primary was actually a win- win situation for both Obama and Clinton. They both gained more delegates than before. However, while it is true that Clinton won the states, it is nevertheless unfortunate that with her popularity and long standing in Washington, coupled with having once being the first lady the percentage margin of win was 55% to 45%. At the most the delegate count difference will not be more then 10. This figure is substantially inconsequential at this stage of the nomination process. Her performance therefore was below expectation, period!
It suffices to note as a consequence that, Senator Clinton only win states like Pennsylvania based on her popularity, rather than a better political articulation than Obama, and the people of Pennsylvania, as shall become increasingly distinct as we go along are aware of this anomalies and have voice their opinion and acted based on what they now know.
It is needless for me to begin to enumerate the facts that the Clinton’s are being associated with a lot of negativism, pessimisms, fabrications, deception and bitterness. The attitude that they are entitled to the presidency of the USA, clearly show their lack of respect for the people of this great, wonderful and potentially suitable haven for mankind.
Obama on the other hand represents and epitomizes the ideals of the American dream; hope that never fails faith that never go unrewarded and commitment to the people, rather than the lobbyists and or special interests.
I want to leave you with this image of Sen. Obama; visualize him addressing the United Nations and other international bodies, and it will automatically dawn on you that yes indeed, this is the beginning of a new era of diplomacy, championing of true democracy, together with fighting poverty and hunger, diseases and racism, human right protection and environmental friendly policies and so on and so forth.
God bless USA
God bless Obama
