After the election, President-elect Barack Obama challenged us to perform a community service project before his inauguration. Be the Change Baederwood, a group of over 150 area members which formed after the election, accepted the challenge and announces the O-Positive Program.

The O-Positive Program encourages residents of Montgomery, Bucks, Philadelphia and surrounding counties to donate at least 500 units of any blood type to celebrate the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama. Please consider donating blood to help save a life.

Here is how people will participateBetween January 4 - January 17:

1. Sign up to donate blood (if you can) at any American Red Cross sponsored blood drive in the area at http:///www.opositiveprogram.org

2. Spread the word about this initiative by asking your friends, family and neighbors to donate blood. Feel free to use the attached flyer.3. If you donate blood, please revisit http://www.opositiveprogram.org, click on the drip so your donation can be tallied and send a personal note to President-elect Obama.

Donating blood I think is a very good kind of service.
