Senator Barack Obama convened an economic meeting in Washington, DC today with a bipartisan group of economic leaders to discuss the immediate challenges facing the U.S. economy. The group included business leaders like Warren Buffett (who participated by speakerphone from Omaha, Nebraska), labor leaders John Sweeney and Anna Burger, Google Chairman and CEO Eric Schmidt as well as six former cabinet secretaries and a former Chairman of the Federal Reserve who served under three Presidential administrations. Although participation in the economic roundtable does not necessarily signal endorsement of the campaign, each attendee at today's meeting providing advice to the campaign on key economic issues.
