Between town hall meetings in Springfield and Rolla today, Barack Obama and fellow Senator Claire McCaskill, D-MO, paid a visit to the folks at "Bell Restaurant" in Lebanon, Missouri. At least half of the regulars at the cafe were retired working men, passing the day drinking cups of coffee. At one table sat Bill McFadden, a retired Frito-Lay Route Man and his friend Nick Quinn, a retired farm worker. Senator Obama spoke to the men about their day to day concerns. Nick Quinn, who was worried about the price of feed and corn, told Senator Obama, “We need to do something about that".Senator Obama covered a lot of ground, ending the day with a speech at a town cookout at the park pavilion in Union City, Missouri. We've run audio of Missourians we talked to along with the photos from the day. Take a look and enjoy.
Tomorrow, off to Iowa... Peter Rubi July 30th, 2008 Interstate 44, between Rolla and St. Louis, MO
