Went to the buffalo MOms for obama rally. It was a GREAT time and the room was energized.

Drove over after to outside ERIE PA in a small town. Saw two deer next to the road tonight when rolling past at 60! Oh yeah got to watch out for them. Got here around 7 and went to phonebank locally. They went well though a few did hang up. I think they are tired of calls!

Staying with a nice retired couple, former hillary supporters that get up early (and I am a night owl can't you tell?). tomorrow doors and more phones.

I just returned from a visit to the Scranton area. My 6 year old grandson was so excited to report to me that his class had "elected" Obama as president. Cute!! You all should have seen his face.

This is torture. We came so close in 2000 and 2004. I've only been able to sleep 4-5 hours a night for about 2 weeks now. I'll be exhausted on 11/5.

I totally am! I haven't slept well for over a week and I haven't felt like eating. But I think it's better to be a little nervous if it motivates us to work hard, we aren't taking anything for granted!

My suggestion to decrease the nervousness: increase your volunteerism! The more you're making calls, knocking on doors, entering data, putting together packets, bringing folks materials, etc, the less time you have to worry about what's going on elsewhere, and you gain such a greater sense of your own power to be the change.

I can't sleep well at night, either, and I'm already exhausted, so I know how you feel, but I've noticed a definite correlation between my anxiety and my involvement: they're inversely proportional.

Not to suggest you're not already working your everything off, Bobby--you probably are. But I still say that's the best cure for nerves, being the change!

Local Dem candidates really need help here. That's where my groundwork work has been done mostly. I have donated a pretty good chunk of change to Sen. Obama and proudly display my yardsigns and bumperstickers on my truck.

I am.... but the best way to counter anxiety is through action....

Anyway, I am especially down because I learned by almost 70 year old mom voted McCain. Despite months of education and information, she decided that she couldn't believe Obama due to "his associations" and that McCain was more trustworthy, especially on foreign policy. OMG - WOW - I like I'm adopted.

She is an immigrant that finally became a citizen a few years ago and clearly from talking to her, her primary motivation is fear. How scary... I told her she sold out her grandkids as it is their world she is shapin. I don't know what I could have done more to persuade her yet now I need to work even harder.

Seriously if you look at the resumes (personal and professional) of both tickets, don't you have to chose OBAMA?

Today was another great afternoon of canvassing here on the Florida panhandle. We stopped by to see Joe - an older gentleman whom we registered the last day of voter registration. Joe was home and told us that he had gotten his registration in the mail and had already taken advantage of early voting. He thanked us several times for getting him registered - thank you Joe for voting!

Got home and had dinner with hubby and the kids and was quickly checking my e-mail and there was a message from my cousin Jess who is a senior at Harvard. Jess co-wrote and recorded a song for Barack and I think it is great. Here is the link:

PAINTERS FOR OBAMA IN PARIS (DOGS INCLUDED) | Report to Admin

Back from an improvised painting studio for Obama, in Paris, France. We were 5 persons (I was the only French), and 2 dogs (big ones), to volunteer as painters for Obama in a one room appartment, to prepare things to put on walls for a "watch the election" party Tuesday night. As for now, 500 persons are awaited.

We used a great quantity of blue and red paint !

The dogs didn't understand so well what was happening and wanted to paint also. We had to teach them not to walk or to lay where the stuffs were drying... but as there was not enough place, things were drying everywhere. On the walls, on the cupboards, on the floor, in the kitchen... and even, that was the problem, on the huge cushion (2 meters diameter) were the 2 dogs use to sleep at night.

But as they were good Obama dogs (even if, and I made a remark on this subject, they omit to register in the "Dogs for Obama" group on this web site, which is something they should remedy) they did not protest much, and tried to find a place where they could, ie in the middle of all these human legs. These dogs (not mines) use to go out in Paris with some Obama buttons of the most favourable impression on their collars.

A girl made a very big logo O with pics cut in magazines, which main colors were blue, red, white. Included 2 pics of Barack, one of Michelle. The result was quite nice.

The others, me included, painted a lot of letters, O, B, A and M, to make a lot of "Obama"s to spread everywhere. The O were all logo O.

Suddenly, I realized that we did nothing for Joe. I protested strongly, the others were laughing seeing the French woman standing for their VP. With their agreement, I specialized in I, D, E, N, plus some more Bs, with a small Biden written in a corner of the sheet, so that we may be sure to have the right numbers of B without to have to use some of the ones made for Barack. And they attribute me a piece of one of the walls for my Biden's letters.

Pizza, wine, fruit juice, ice creams in between. Slice of pizza, B, another one, M, etc...

Made the taxi, back 1:30 am.

Just like most of us here, I have been working my butt off to GOTV in two states (NC and AZ)--volunteering and making phone calls at the Phoenix HQ. I've made sure that everyone I know (of voting age) has already voted...two exception and they will be voting on Tuesday. In addition to my continued GOTV efforts, I would like to reach my fundraising goal. I need help in this area. Please consider donating to my page...I'm about $375 away from my goal.

fyi: if you live in florida and have moved to another county. just go to the poll in that county and let them know that you moved from your home county (or your last residence). they are required to let you fill out an affidavit with your new address and allow you to vote at that poll. this is your right.

also, this is a regular vote, not a provisional vote. stand up for your rights. if anyone, give you a hassle, call the phone number that has been on tV (CNN and others) to ask for assistance.

this should help a lot of college students. i have been getting calls from parents of college students asking what they can do. it is simple as this.

You certainly have an Obama stuff collection. Don't you think one of Hélène's authentic, true, collector postcards, with a message written by hand especially for you on it, could be a missing piece in your collection if you don't order one on time ?

After November 4th, when it will be too late to donate, it will be too late to get one (it's like for Barack's store, they may arrive after November 4th, due too technical delay, but they will arrive for sure).

THE COMPANY MCCAIN KEEPS
Now fully operating within the prison walls of his narrow vision, McCain has become incapable of critical thinking and objective self-analysis. They say that you become the company you keep. True indeed! In McCain’s case, he seemed to have become quickly comfortable with rogue operators and was glibly spouting their words of dark rage and division. He can’t even see the contradiction in continuing to call himself a “maverick” in such a circumstance. For any one interested in establishing the truth that the “maverick” image is old narrative, I suggest they take a casual look at McCain's inner circle of advisers and handlers. It tells you volumes: Rove protégés, lobbyists, mercenaries, inhuman abstractions with little or no moral qualms, narrow thinkers and selfish individualists who care little about the common good and a broader vision. Can it get any worse?

In the last six weeks there has not been one national poll listed by Pollster.com that has McCain getting 50% of the vote or more.

There have been 80 polls with Obama getting 50% or more.

None of this actually matters but it does suggest that there is a decent chance that if we work our butts off for the next 3 days we could pull this out.

McCain is making many campaign stops before election day, he is fighting hard, I just hope Obama is fighting hard also!

Just wondering if you can bring clarity to the CHANGE Sen. Obama wants to bring to America? After 2 years of listening to him, I still don't know what CHANGE he's talking about. Some people believe that Sen. Obama studied Socialism, Marxism & Communism way more than American History; is this the CHANGE he talks about? There is also a rumor out there, that he flunked American History. Can you find answers for me before I vote?

The November 3rd TIME magazine has an article by Joe Klein named "Why He's Winning...The Evolution of Barack Obama".
It mentioned Barack's July meeting with General Petraeus where Barack said "my job as potential Commander in Chief is to view your counsel through the prism of our overall national security." Barack then discussed the importance of paying needed attention to Afghanistan, the escalating costs of the war in Iraq, and the stress on the militairy due to being called back for multiple tours of duty. "Obama said that the timetable (for withdrawal) would obviously have to be flexible."

The important issue here, of course was that BOTH Bush and MCCain exhibited hero-worship of Petraeus "ABDICATING PRESIDENTIAL RESPONSIBILITY". It was so typical of Bush and McCain and I liken it to their stand on deregulation - shirking responsibility. THIS IS HOW THINGS GET SO DAMAGED. People like Bush and McCain don't do their job - they don't apply themselves but they let someone else do the work WITHOUT OVERSIGHT. In the case of John McCain this would be disastrous with Palin ready and willing to become another Cheney.

Another good quote:" Obama has prospered in this presidential campaign because of the steadiness of his temperament and the judicious quality of his decision-making".

Barack Obama uses crises as "teachable moments" and "speaks to the American people as if they were intelligent adults...like they can understand complexities'. "So he doesn't miss an opportunity for leadership..."

During the recent economic crisis Obama's aides said it would seem more "statesmanlike" for Obama to suspend his campaign as McCain was doing. BUT OBAMA DISAGREED AND DID NOT BELIEVE THAT ADVICE AND THEREBY LET HIS CORRECT INTUITION WIN OUT:

"What seems important or clever or in need of some dramatic moment alot of times just needs reflection and care" said Barack Obama. Obama also mentioned that a president has to multi-task. It was remarked that "THIS SORT OF CLARITY IS NEW". Obama realized that he did not have the power to influence the final outcome so "it was best to stay calm and not oversell his role" while McCain " was the least creative person in the room ...he simply had no ideas or any good questions," SAID A PROMINENT REPUBLICAN

Obama is all about long term solutions rather than quick fixes. "...he has not been childishly egomaniacal...or petulant, in contrast to his opponent"..."He (is) introducing MATURITY.
