The Bowling Proprietors' Association of America has come out and publically threatened to ruin Barack Obama's career. Apparently, they are very upset because Obama intends to replace the current bowling alley installed inside the White House with an indoor basketball court. Basketball courts are awesome and basketball is a legitimate sport. Bowling is NOT a legitimate sport. Bowling is a game. Nothing that can be played by fat old guys who drink beer and eat nachos while playing can be considered a legitimate athletic sport. The bowling alley in the White House was installed by Richard Nixon as a way to connect with low income white voters. In my opinion, destroying this bowling alley would be VERY appropriate considering that Richard Nixon was impeached for committing fraud while serving as our President. His bowling alley is a symbol of dishonest pandering to voters under false pretenses. (Nixon was not a very good bowler)

On the other hand, Barack Obama is a very good basketball player and so are many members of his staff and cabinet. The bottom line here is that the Bowling Proprietors' Association of America is completely out of line for threatening to take votes away from Obama in the future and frankly I think they are digging their own grave. I for one am now initiating a full on BOYCOTT of all business establishments that associate themselves with the BPAA, until a full retraction and apology is given to the press. To harshly criticize and threaten our new President-Elect just because he doesn't want a bowling alley inside the White House is both disrespectful and grossly ignorant. Congratulations BPAA for reinforcing all of the negative stereotypes that are associated with bowling alleys.
