To all Americans who are against Rick Warren giving the invocation at P.E. Obama’s inauguration:
You are American whether you are gay or straight, and that makes you an important part of our country. Don't move away, don’t loose hope, and don’t believe for one second that you are being defeated. Stay in the fight - this presidential victory was hard fought and long overdue for all of us. We must continue this fight to take back our country together. It is important that
ALL Americans
stay in the fight because as P.E. Obama told us more than once,
THIS WAS NEVER ABOUT HIM, IT’S ABOUT US
– We The People of the United States!
Some of my family members were slaves and most of us have had to fight for everything for our entire lives. Don't you give up hope because of ONE seemingly stupid and unexplained decision. P.E. Obama told us that he is not a perfect man and would not be a perfect president. But he is the best person for the job to come along in my life time, and I bet he has a plan!
You cannot fight against ignorance or bigotry from afar. You have to look it in the eyes and go round for round with it – up close and personal until you choke the life from it. You have to be here, in America, and in the moment to stand up against all who will continue to breed ignorance, hatred and bigotry of any kind where ever you find it.
Now is not the time to live in fear, we are through with that madness; Now is the time for boldness, courage, strength and a damn fine fighting spirit full of the determination to battle and win!
Fired Up - Ready to Go!!!

Not sure if it could be labeled as progress or not; however it does appear some respect was shown on both sides.
Obama for allowing him to perform it; and Warren could have easily stated that he doesn't accept Obamas views on specific social issues and therefore refused to do it.

As P-E Obama has stated on the campaign trail, this is NOT a 'zero sum game'.
And, let's not forget that it will be Rev Joseph Lowery who will be giving the Benediction.

Many Conservatives are furious about Warren, they think that he gives Obama too much creditability.

Well - how awful is that! It amazes me that people can be so absolutely narrow minded and stubborn in their thinking, especially when it comes to organized religion.
I don't fault anyone about their religious beliefs or lack there of, because I have my own spirituality and private opinions. I don't believe that religion should be practiced to EXCLUDE anyone. I think if folks were busy trying to live up to their own beliefs, they would be too tired to cause other folks such stress and would stop pointing fingers at folks who are not like them... Bunch of hypocrits if you ask me!
