Do not Call
I am calling people to encourage them to vote early in NC and they are complaining about I am on the DNC list and do not want any future calls.. I tried to explain that "I am not trying to sell you anything " and the DNC regulations does not apply. Help! what are the restrcitions of calling someone who is on the DNC list. I certain do not have the list or any idea about whom is on the list. Anyone?

I had the same problem, and I asked a campaign field director if the Do Not Call list applies. I was told that since we are not selling anything, the Do Not Call list does not apply. I heard this from a field director and another woman who has worked on numerous campaigns. I believe they are correct. Hope this helps...

Political speech is not covered by "Do not Call" If you have a voter that does not want to get political calls, I tell them that the numbers come from the voter rolls. If they want to get their names off the call list, call or go down to town hall, and have them remove the phone number from their voting record. They don't have to state a phone number to vote.
I have even had angry people thank me for telling them that.
