I appreciate your patients in waiting for this email. I hope the Holiday’s have been kind to you all.
This is a follow up as well as a thank you for signing up and/or attending the “Change is Coming” meeting(s) at the Salt Lake City Public Library. There were a total of 3 meetings (2 on Saturday and 1 on Sunday) held at the Library by Marc Buckley and up to 12 others throughout Utah and somewhere close to 2,400 around the nation. We received local news coverage in the Deseret News and on Fox 13 Utah as well as a call from the headquarters in Illinois in order to be placed on a national press release. So believe it or not our voice was heard and there was notice taken.

Now we have to come together and organize so that we can properly see our passions and concerns carried out the way they will best benefit us all for the future.

Equality
Mortgage Fraud
Education
Unemployment
Foreign Relations
Separation of Church and State
If it is to be our groups will to see significant changes in Utah’s political system, we should come together to achieve them within the next 4 years.

1. Specify what issues hold your passion and interest.
2. What level of participation you want to have in the group. (Example: Coordinator, Host, Networker, Volunteer, Community Service help, Attendee, emails and votes only etc…)
3. How often can you meet? Is once a month okay?
4. What suggestions do you have for our group?
5. What groups in Utah that influence politics are you currently a part of? (Example: DEM, REP, Equality Utah, Utah Action Team, SUWA, UCA, etc…)

We need to nurture and build our network making our voices. The transition office will provide us with the support and tools we need.
Send them letters and emails, attend events and public meetings. Speak with our legislators over the phone. Help legislators to write bills and pass legislation. Invite legislators to our meetings. Send videos and clips from the Transition team as well as from our group.
All our local media outlets are here in Salt Lake City, Utah and we have a basic connection with them. I have listed them below. We had Fox 13, Deseret Newspaper and The Salt Lake Tribune come and cover our event Change is Coming.
