Senator Steven Hobbs, State Senator from the 44th Legislative District (West Lake Stevens) joined the army in 1987 and served until 2005. He was a member of the reserves and on active duty, including a tour in Iraq as part of an anti-terrorism unit. One of Senator Hobbs’ many duties in country was picking up ballot boxes after the first democratic primary elections. If the enemy had known what they were carrying, “there is no way we would have been allowed to make it out.”
Given his experience, Senator Hobbs believes that Barack Obama will fight for the needs of veterans and make a superior Commander in Chief. He feels that Senator Obama is not afraid to take decisive action but will do so only after all other avenues have been exhausted. Senator Steven Hobbs was willing to give his life for his country as a soldier in Iraq and has continued to serve the American people as a State Senator in Washington. He believes that our country needs fundamental change and Barack Obama is just the President to bring it.
