A couple of weeks ago I was at a
journalists conference
in Las Vegas (
NABJ
) and both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama made appearances.
Clinton spoke
Thursday morning and Obama the next morning, Friday August 10, 2007 (John Edwards apparently responded too late, he would've been slated for a less prime time, so he ultimately declined). I attended both candidate forums. I was happy to be in an audience with Clinton, I wanted not only to get her take on issues but to also feel her energy in that crowd (she actually let one questioner know
how she really feels
about healthcare). I was in fact impressed with her but I was still anxious to be in Obama's audience the next day. He impressed me because he got away from the prepared political responses to the typical or trite questions and instead spoke off the cuff, from the heart about his real reasons for running and I really respected what he had to say during the Q&A. NABJ has this
audio of his opening remarks
. Check back because I'll post my own audio/video recording of Obama's appearance at NABJ '07 on YouTube.
