When you walk into the
San Antonio Obama HQ at 309 E. 3rd Street
-- just blocks from the Alamo-- one of the first friendly faces you are likely to see is one of our most committed local volunteers, Sloan. A few weeks ago, he and a fellow volunteer, Gretchen, agreed that any time the office was open, one or both of them would be there.
Sloan’s persistent optimism and his inviting personality are great additions to this office, and he is always welcoming to new volunteers and undecided voters. "I really believe in Barack’s message and the spirit of inclusion-- not simply trying to win, but trying to make the process better for everyone. You can't just vanquish your enemies—in the future you are going to need to work with everyone to get things done.”
Volunteers like Sloan have taken leadership positions and are not only working for change—but inspiring and empowering other volunteers to do the same thing.
Sloan spent 26 years in the army (stationed in Texas for a large portion) and then retired here at the end of his service. He is the kind of dedicated volunteer who starts the day by getting call sheets organized and handing out walk packets to the volunteers, but then after getting the volunteers out the door, grabs a carpet sweeper and says with a quiet grin, "This is how you clean up politics."

Back by popular demand! I've had people email me and suggest this link be re-circulated on the blogs so that Ohio voters get the opportunity to read it. This has details about how Mandated Healthcare (like Hillarys' plan) works in MA, and shows how high the costs are. Check it out!

The next few days could decide whether we get that chance. It will take a massive effort across the country to Get Out The Vote on Tuesday, March 4th.
That means reaching out, making phone calls, and building this movement one person at a time.

The blog overlooked a key volunteer-member of the San Antonio office team. Penny is an out-of-state volunteer from California who has worked side-by-side with Gretchen and me, pulling more hours than either of us, greeting and assisting local voters and prospective volunteers. Thanks for all your help, Penny.

Last night I posted a message in the blog asking others to donate to my fundraising campaign. I stated that I’d set a personal goal of $200 but had only raised $10 after talking to friends. And within twenty minutes, 4 people had given a total of $145. Then this morning two more strangers gave and pushed me OVER my limit, all in less than 12 hours. I am SO thankful to those who gave to a complete stranger! Thank you thank you thank you to them all. You made be believe even more in this movement!
But this got me thinking. I’m sure I’m not the only one stuck on my goal. In fact, a lot of us haven’t made the ground we thought we would. So I’ve found the names and links of all the people who gave to me and have not yet finished their own personal goals. I think it’d be amazing if we could finish them off as well. And since today is the last day of the month, we want to hit a homerun in fundraising, maybe this in incentive. So, here are the links to those who are still running short. Let’s see if we can finish them all off by the end of the day!
In an earlier post, someone said we should call this, “Finish It Off Friday”. I think that’s a pretty good idea. So here we go with a start…
Finish It Off Friday
Here’s one
Link
And another
Link
And here, too.
Link
And here.
Link
And this one!
Link
Since I can’t give to everyone (I’m just a poor teacher), this is my thanks to those who helped me!
Finally, if you’re still struggling to make your goal, maybe you could message me and I’ll add you to this list!
Let’s get ‘em guys!

Barack promises that all seniors making 50,000 dollars a year or less will not have to pay income taxes.
He still wants to go into Afghanistan and get Bin Laden.
Barack will put an end to the genocide in Darfur.
Barack will give the country a health care system that works and he won't face the same gridlock that HRC did in the 90's because he is open to working with Republicans. He is also opposed to a mandate (like the one in Clinton and Edwards' plans) which would require many Americans to pay rates that many could not afford.
He has battled legislatively against the death penalty.
In Washington, he has worked with Republicans on nuclear proliferation, government waste and global warming.
Barack believes in full and complete transparency of government.
He stands faithfully by our rights in the constitution. Barack taught constitutional law for ten years.
Barack Obama will change America for the better.

If you will be present in any of these states, it will be important to be everso vigilant. Let's impose our will and require that Obama Hq, release hundreds of thousands of volunteers to each of these states so as to guard against "Voter Fraud & Intimidation". You all remember what happen in, New York, a few weeks ago. Senator Obama, got "0" votes in the primaries in, New York City. You say how can such a thing happen in our democracy. If we are naive as they think we will be the same thing that happen in, New York, will happen elsewhere. "If God Be For You Who Can Stand Against You".

My first ever comment. As a proud Texan, I voted early today! :)
Check out this quote I stumbled upon:
"Now, one of Clinton's laws of politics is this. If one candidate is trying to scare you and the other one is try get you to think, if one candidate is appealing to your fears and the other one is appealing to your hopes, you better vote for the person who wants you to think and hope."
Know who said these words? Bill Clinton. Read the transcript here:

Day of Reckoning
A visitor to Clinton HQ sees signs of serious trouble.
by Eleanor Clift (Newsweek)
The day of reckoning for Hillary Clinton is almost here. The voters in Ohio will either deal a final blow to her campaign or provide a much needed victory that at best will give her a reprieve in the long march to the nomination. A visitor from another country recently paid a call on the Clinton campaign headquarters in Ballston, Va., a place just over the bridge from Washington but light years away. He imagined he would be present at a moment of great triumph. Instead he found a campaign on the verge of imploding. Phone bank tables were unmanned. Bins full of mail sent over from the Senate sat unattended. A lot of young women, fanatical Hillary fans all, rushed about, seemingly unclear about what they were supposed to be doing. Other aides sat in front of computer screens, gloomily reading coverage of the campaign. Howard Wolfson and Phil Singer, the campaign's communications team, weren't speaking with anybody else, just doing their own thing, whatever that might have been. In short, it was not a happy family.

Hi team,
As most of us know, we have primaries/caucuses coming up on Mar 4. Please join my family in 2 days of prayer and fasting for Barack on Mon, Mar 3 and Tue, Mar 4. Let us include in our prayers a request to God that Hillary Clinton will bow out gracefully from this race within one week of March 4. Please structure the prayer and fasting according to your preference (individual prayer, group prayer, prayer 2 times a day, prayer 3 times a day, full fast, partial fast, no fasting at all, etc).
Someone said in an email a while back that Hillary has some serious prayer warriors in her camp. Apparently, they prayed for Hillary all day on the Tuesday of the New Hampshire primary and also the night before. It may be their prayers that caused her unexpected win in New Hampshire. As the apostle Paul wrote, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but … against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12).
Let us cast aside doubts and remember the words of Jesus: “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24). We have to believe that God will grant our requests, not only that He is able to grant them.
To echo someone’s comments previously, let us also pray for Hillary Clinton - that she will re-assess the choices she has made and that she will allow God to make her the woman He wants her to be. I’m confident that God will cause her to lose this nomination, not just for America’s sake but for Hillary’s own sake - a severe jolt to push her to look at herself in the mirror and change course. I will post reminders of the days of prayer and fasting as they approach.

TEXANS GET OUT TO THE CAUCUS SITES VERY EARLY...I NOTICED THAT OUR AD SAYS 7:00, HILLARY'S STATES 6:45. SHE WANTS TO PULL THE SAME STUNTS SHE PULLED IN NEVADA!
MAKE SURE WE GET THE WORD OUT. OUR SUPPORTERS MUST GET TO THE CAUCUS SITES EARLY! WE CAN'T AFFORD TO HAVE THOSE DOORS CLOSE WITHOUT OUR SUPPORTERS REPRESENTED.
HERE IS THE ARTICLE THAT HIGHLIGHTS HILLARY'S SHINANIGANS AND WIN AT ALL COST TACTICS:

AND REMEMBER, WE HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER TO PREVENT HILLARY FROM STEALING THIS CAMPAIGN FROM THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.
PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO MAKE A DONATION. IN FACT, FROM NOW UNTIL TUESDAY, PLEASE MAKE A DONATION EVERY TIME HILLARY PULLS ONE OF HER STUNTS.
EVERY LITTLE BIT COUNTS; MAKE A DONATION FOR THIS STUNT HILLARY JUST PULLED:

Even in Iowa at our caucus, I got there early and the Hillary tables were full to the max. The got the best location. The only good news was Obama people got there in time and we out number them. I was very concerned when I walked into the room. My fear was that they closed the doors at 7p and no more people could get in. But thank goodness all our people got in at the very last second.
People need to get inside the location early. Like I said, hillary people were there EARLY to squat on the best area.
We still had a blast! It's a great people watching and friend making experience. I brought cards with my email on them, so I could be contacted to help with other events. We now have an email list of people who try to work together for Obama.
Remember to tell all the caucus goers that they are disorganized, so be prepared to hang out. It's a great time.
Outside of TEXAS, make phone calls today!!!!
Come on Obama people!!! Rock TEXAS!
