I have worked for Barack, gave money to his cause, walked miles in Nevada, evaded dogs and angry republicans. Now he must be consistant with the message of change which we all believed in and worked for. Tom Dachale did not pay his fair taxes. He has questionable ties with health care industries. His nomination for Health Secretary must be denied. If Obama continues to support him, The thing with feathers that perches in my soul (Hope) will have flown again, and I doubt I will be able to get it back again.

I think Daschle should be commended for coming forward, apologizing, paying his taxes, and resigning. He was a great asset to the Health Care Reform Agenda, which will suffer in his absence. We should have accepted his apology and moved on. If everyone who made errors and misrepresented their taxes lost their jobs because of it, there would be a lot more unemployed people than there already are. I've even received a bill from Uncle Sam for items I forgot about or didn't know they were taxable. Personally, I question the motives behind the people who were calling for Tom's head. I think they were more concerned with discrediting this Administration than Daschle's tax evasion. This situation clearly indicates we are still gaping at gnats and swallowing camels.
Our citizens are unemployed, without health care, and homeless and being denied quick relief, yet our focus is on people's inequities.
I, too, knocked on doors, phonebanked, donated, and GOTV for change. Barack Obama represents that change we worked so hard to accomplish. I'd hate to see this accomplishment muddled up over some one's tax bill. Our priorities right now should be economical reform, health care, clean energy, and ending the wars. Daschle apologized, paid up, and resigned, yet this is still at the top of the news. I find it a bit disconcerting that people are whining and throwing the towel in before the end of the game. It is time for us to suck it up and get behind our President to guarantee we get the change we fought so hard for.
Daschle sucked it up and resigned for the sake of our country and Barack because of the distractions. Every one can moveon now with satisfaction to the business at hand. Unfortunately, affordable Health care for all Americans will suffer a terrible setback.
