Working the evening shift, upon arriving home I flipped on the TV. It was 1:15 a.m. Arizona time, and I searched my satellite stations for something on Barack Obama. "I guess if there's nothing bad to say, they're going to say nothing at all." I said this to myself as I finally reached C-SPAN. There was John Lewis, being interviewed by someone. Here is a link to what I think I was watching at the time:

They were clearly talking about faith and/or religion and it had nothing at all to do with Obama, but I listened in. "This is clearly a good man." I thought to myself, as he began to take questions from the audience. John Lewis often quoted Martin Luther King, as Obama sometimes does. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a man asked John Lewis if he felt Mr. Obama could take our country to the next level regarding our problems with race. John Lewis hesitated. I do not have the quote, but it went something like this:
"Do you realize what you have just done to me? You are putting me on the spot. You are putting me on the hot seat. That's ok, because I can handle being on the hot seat and I will answer your question. If Barack Obama becomes the nominee, he will become President of the United States. I can feel this in my gut. I believe he will not only bring this nation to a level it has never been before, he (and this country) will set an example for the entire world."
The above is not verbatim (that is my disclaimer) but it is close. The way he said it drew a loud applause from the crowd and believe me, it was not that type of meeting. The place was pretty quiet up until that point.
