I understand the arguments and how our troops in additional harm's way and additional stain to our national image at a time when we are just starting to recover face in the world's eyes does us no justice.
At the same time, this has to be addressed-
The American taxpayer paid for and is still paying for Iraq...
At the same time, this has to be addressed- classify the photos for 4-8 years with instructions on how they are to be eventually released, issue a prominent speech addressing the difficulty of the matter, and how as President, you felt it best with strong bipartisan support that now was not the time.
Perhaps you should consider that these may already be leaked around the world and there are forces at work merely waiting for you to become 'part of the coverup'?
If Iraqi villages received letters from aggrieved women...do you not imagine it possible that they also received photos and tapes?
Eventually everything comes out-and the GOP will welcome a substantial tie-in to the "Iraq War/ Torture Coverup" for the Obama Presidency.
With everything Cheney has been out broadcasting, is it even possible to protect the Bush Administration from prosecution?
AIG was too big to fail?
The 'Iraq Torture Scandal' is too big to avoid accountability.
Either let the GOP own it or you bought it.
