Today superdelegate Joe Andrew, the former Chairman of the Democratic National Committee under President Clinton, switched his support from Hillary Clinton to Barack Obama, saying that "the tone and temperature of the race is now hurting" our party.
Across Indiana, many people are coming to the same conclusion. This week we talked to Indianapolis residents Jackie Nedell and Lou Starkey, and to Denise Sobieski, a teacher in Terre Haute, who all said that they switched to Obama because he represented a change from the divisive politics of the past.
Here's their story:

Are you calling Indiana?
Would it help you to know….
What areas/towns you are calling in Indiana (based on the telephone number)?
What areas/towns in Indiana are more likely to vote for Obama?
Then please go to my blog:
Link
I have generated tables of information that you can print off at home, which allow you to answer these questions by looking-up the first part of the telephone number (from the on-line phonebanking tool).

The Republicans know all about this scandal with Clinton. They want her for several reasons - she would definitely rallying the Republican base, a Clinton nomination would seriously divide the party and they would immediately start pulling out all these scandals regarding Peter Paul, Bill Clinton's unsavory relationships with foreign businessman/leaders, etc. I think they feel that Clinton would be an easy win with minimal effort.
The Republicans say they want Obama, but like many political strategist say, "Politics is all Perception". That is what they want people to think! If Wright is all they got, then they can kiss the White House bye-bye!

one thing I really wish the MSM would say more is that Joseph Andrew's endorsement was UNSOLICITED, he even told Andrea Mitchell he didn't call either one of them before making the decision. I think that's huge!!! I wish many people in NC and IN would hear that as a former, familiar with the process person, unsolicited switched from Clinton to Obama. I think he'll win both states. I am calling, calling, calling... let's go North Carolina and Indiana.
And by the way I am in a caucus state. We went 3 to 1 for Obama here, so Bill shove it when you say that those states are going to go Republican. We had 5 times as many democratic voters come out as Republican votes! So whatever Bill, how do you really think that anyone here who is being disregarded and called "undemocratic" going to vote for Hillary. Think before you speak Bubba, try it once, its very refreshing.

I wish it would be stated that there is no way a popular vote could count since there is no way to count any popular votes in caucus states. Caucus states are as important as any other states.
MI and FL could not possibly count any kind of vote since the rules clearly stated that the votes would not count beforehand and the voters knew it as well as the candidates. They agreed not to campaign there and knew the votes would not count either. MI did not have Obama's or almost anyone else's name on the ballot except for Clinton. Barack was pretty much unknown then and needed to campaign in a state to be known so FL didn't know him when voters voted. Another thing about those states voters is many did not vote since the votes would not count therefore it would be unfair to all to count any of the votes. Since the votes are set up to count delegates to win that is the way the campaign should be conducted. Play by the rules and don't be a sore loser. Isn't that what we try to teach our kids? Why would we want to encourage cheating or changing the rules in the middle of the game? If you don't like the rules you work to make them better before the next time around. It is unimaginable to me that we condone the behavior of our highest elected office candidate to disregard the system and the rules.

Brigitte you're so right. It's amazing how this media is assisting this woman in an effort to upset him in NC and totally take it in Indiana. All of these pundits talking about why all of a sudden white working class people won't vote for him. I've been screaming at my TV all evening saying it's because you all have done an outstanding job shaping these folks minds against this man and for one of the biggest LIARS around.
CNN is blatant with their slant for Hillary Clinton. I thought better once of Anderson Cooper but that too has passed. At least Keith on Countdown is the lone wolf standing. The rest of them Dan Abram, Chris Mathews, and let's not forget Greenspan's spouse Andrea Mitchell #1 HRC supporter. Its's simply amazing how they the media
pretend they simply can't understand why all of a sudden his numbers have dropped. Duh! How about the loop da loop around the clock and every hour on Jeremiah Wright. That ought to do it! Then they said we are playing word association with people so when they ask them what comes to mind when they hear Obama, the response is Jeremiah Wright.
As an African American woman this to me has been a high-tech lynching by the corporate media. Not once has there been an indept reporting of Hagee. John McCain gets a free pass along with Ms. Hillary. I am praying for him to pull out NC because Bill Clinton has been going around to these small rural towns with his finger pointed talking about she needs you to pull this off so we're depending on you. Unfortunately they have succeeded in making Barack's campaign about race which is what he didn't want.
I would love to see him beat her in Indiana although we know that won't stop her. She's like a bad horror flick where the monster keeps coming.
My prayers for all of the Obama Family Supporters around the country who are working tirelessly, and last but not least Barack, Michele, and their family.

Let's keep perspective here fellow supporters. The average voter is NOT tuned in to cable news as we are. Trust me on this. I did more informal polling at work today and I found no one who goes home and chills in front of CNN, FOX or any of them. They did not do so before our election date here in Arizona either. The audience of cable news is actually a very small and dedicated group of viewers. I never watched them myself before I cared about Barack Obama, except for election night coverage. How many of you watched them religiously before this? In fact, I have found that most people never saw Rev. Wright at all during his recent performances. The only thing they know of him is that he was briefly mentioned on the local evening news as causing the democratic candidate trouble. Blah, blah, blah. Not devastating coverage locally. With only nine contests to go and proportional allocation of delegates, Barack will pull this out. With God's blessing, he'll win in NC and that will keep the cable news folks tethered to their trees for the remainder of the contests. Let's pray. Let's call. Let's donate! Obama '08

it amazes me how they discount the caucus states...and it is the democratic party rules...(its not as if we made up some weird voting system!:) if they don't like caucus' or want only primaries...why do they allow them to begin with!? i am from washington state...we are a caucus state AND a primary state but get this...ONLY THE CAUCUS RESULTS count! all the delegates go for the caucus...which barack won 68%! he also won the primary (which really doesn't count!) BUT WE VOTED AND A DEMOCRAT WON THE STATE last presidential election...NOT A REPUBLICAN... who are they kidding?! and just for the record...i don't drink lattes i like mochas! go obama....YES we can!

Hillary's War
If you live in NC or IN, and still have friends or family that are leaning Hillary or undecided, I think it's a good idea to email them this article that appeared in the New York Times last May, a feature story that detailed Hillary's history of support for the Iraq war -- which was unique in its nature -- and how she skillfully repositioned herself from one of the most vocal supporters of the war to a an anti-war candidate in time for the election.
Hillary's current anti-war rhetoric is a far cry from her initial support of the war. Not only had she supported it when 23 of her fellow senators had not, she went further than almost ALL her democratic colleagues by claiming that Saddam was working with Al Qaeda, an untrue, republican talking point that scared many Americans into believing that invading Iraq was somehow linked to 9/11, though there was no evidence of this.
She did not read the National Intelligence reports, even though senators that had read it urged the others to do so, saying that the reports would prove that invasion of Iraq was unjustified.
Many colleagues believed that her support of the war was due to insecurity that she might not appear "tough" enough. Note that today, the same insecurities have been suspected as the reasoning behind her exaggerations about her role in Northern Ireland and Bosnia.
Read 'Hillary's War', a New York Times feature story detailing Hillary's history of support for the Iraq war.

Also, I'd like to readdress my sincerest gratitude to Mr Joe Andrew for his endorsement that was posted this morning at 9am.
Everyone should please take a minute to reflect on this endorsement. This man was the former DNC chair during Bill Clinton's administration and was one of the first to endorse Hillary Clinton. He has now switched to Barack Obama as many will because they understand what is at stake. His allegiance is not to any one person but to this country and believe Barack Obama is that candidate that will lead us in the right direction.
Mr Andrews made a most valid point that we must carry to all voters and delegates across the nation. We can win the nomination and as democrats we will win the presidency this year because the time for change is long overdue. We must carry on with the message of hope and change as this is what we need to overcome the seen and unseen forces that will attempt to derail us as is happening now. We must continue to be fired up and continue to engage others.
Yes we can. Yes we can. Yes we can.

There is NO LIMIT on the amount of video that can go up there. NO LIMIT. No need to be parsimonious. NO LIMIT. No need to pre-filter. NO LIMIT.
And it's FREE. FREE. FREE. FREE.
Thus:
We need to get video from EVERY Barack event up there. Events in whole, and parts of events.
Then: we need to have a nice easy-to-use guide to all that video. So someone can search for a place, a date, a subject, and get all the links pulled up.
I'm emailing HQ about this. I'm a geek, and am also volunteering time to help them get this done.
If other folks like the idea, please also speak up.

O'Reilly demanded to know how much Clinton was going to "take out of my wallet," and when she listed a series of proposals to aid middle class families, O'Reilly interjected. "I'm not middle class, I'm a rich guy."
Clinton responded (in an awkward moment),
"Rich people, God bless us. We deserve all the opportunities to make sure our country and our blessings continue until the next generation."

Thanks to the generosity of many who donated their valuable frequent flyer miles, we sent 29 out-of-state volunteers to TX / OH, 32 to PA, and another 17 to IN / NC.
This means ***1,950,000 MILES*** have been donated to date -- putting ***78 VOLUNTEERS*** on the ground, helping bring it home for Barack.
Our focus now turns to the next important states.
VOLUNTEERS: If you want to spend a week or more in an upcoming primary state, but can't afford to pay your own way, contact me and I'll try to match you with an airline ticket.
DONORS: It takes 25,000 miles for a ticket. So -- who's got at least 25,000 on the same airline which they'd like to donate toward making sure Barack Obama is our next President?
Step right up -- I'm getting requests almost daily from volunteers who want to help but can't afford the airfare. Donate now, please, so we can get these people where they're most needed. *** WE NEED MORE MILES! *** No miles? Perhaps you can help pay airfare.
Please call me at 714-536-6104 California time. (Don't reply on the blogs; I probably won't see your response.)

With that said though, this does show a history of what the Clinton campaign thought of folks from Indiana.

A friend sent me this email today:
Is it possible that you didn't understand? Wright does not want to
help Obama he wants to destroy his candidacy.
Why would he want to do that? To show him that he can't rise above
his race. To show him that his confidence in the American people is
misplaced. To show him that this is a racist society as Wright claims and
as he, Wright has lived it. And Wright's egotism is beyond belief destructive. He doesn't care whose hopes he dashes in the process...
Obama is the least of it. What about all those people who voted for
him, worked for him, sent him contributions... It is the most appallingly tragically destructive act I've seen in this society ---
other than the physical assassinations of our great leaders... and
done to Obama by the man who was in a sense his surrogate father. His
biological father abandoned him.... We will see if Wright has succeeded. And it
partly will depend on people like you understanding what has been
done. And understanding also why it has been done. And understanding
the role that the media has played in making it possible.
Just think of that little prance like a monkey on the stage of the
National Press Club for just one little grotesque touch. ".... Well, I'll show them... I'll act
just like a monkey and they'll associate that with you, Obama," was
what Wright was doing with that little dance. He's.... as sly as he is destructive.
Why would he want to do something like that?.... about wounded narcissism. Please for all our sakes and for the sake of our political discourse,
regardless of who you are for or why, please do understand what it is
that was being done.
And you might also want to consider that the media blitzkrieg was set
up by Barbara Reynolds, the lady in the yellow dress sitting next to
Wright and talking to him just before he addressed the Press Club.
She is an avid supporter of Hillary Clinton. Barabara Reynolds, the
person who launched that guided missile knew Wright well enough to
know what he would do if he ever got near a national stage. Wright
does have a propensity to go right off a cliff once he gets revved up
and with age has lost even more of his constraints.

Dea from West Laf, IN Ok..it is difficult to simplify, but here it is...NE Dems used to take part in the Iowa caucus for many years. The State Dem Party Committee passed a rule that NE would hold its own caucus this year. This was on Feb 9, 2008. We then have a Primary on May 13; the caucus doesnt eliminate the Primary here but it is, for all practical purposes, a beauty contest, because the caucus already has been decided - in our case, of course it went to our man BO! The reason we are encouraged to vote in the primary is to highlight the caucus and the presidential election; the caucus system was chosen to attempt to increase the voice of NE voters in the presidential nominating process and in doing so, it is the hope of the party to increase the voice of minority communities throughout the State, which I felt strongly, was not only a matter of fairness to those voters but simply the moral thing to do.These groups of voters include but are not limited to AA, Hispanics, Native Americans, Asian/Pacifics Americans, women, youth, persons with disabilities and others, without any discrimination regardless of race, gender, age, colour, creed, national origin, religion, ethnic identity, sexual orientation, economic status, physical disabilities, etc.

Great to Hear but we Need to Salvage this Campaign |
Report to Admin
By
Sandra Monterey, CA
May 1st 2008 at 9:05 pm EDT
How to Salvage this Campaign:
1) Increase public awareness about current voter intimidation tactics, false mailers and bogus polls being played up in and by the media to throw more confusion in the public's mind.
2) The campaign (Obama and surrogates) need to go on local TVs and local media and DENOUNCE the robo-calls, false mailers being sent by HRC camp.
3) He or THEY could easily obtain such evidence and show them to the public so they can be informed and avoid falling into the deceptive trap and all the manipulations.
4) Compile/Collect all these troubling, false mailers (robocalls + other evidence) and send them to all the Superdelegates to show them how DIRTY the Clintons are playing.
I know Sen. Obama plays by the rules. I also know that the Clintons keep inventing and reinventing their own rules.
They will NEVER play fair and square...
My final advice: Doing rallies and town hall meetings in Indiana does not really matter if people still believe in all the falsehoods about him...
Wherever he goes, the Senator needs to AGGRESSIVELY:
1) Dispel all rumors each time he starts a new rally or town meeting. He needs to DO THIS. (Being a muslim, elitist, non-pledge saying, unpatriotic candidate - These misconceptions unfortunately still linger in some minds and are still dogging him!)
2) Bring clips of him leading the pledge of allegiance and photos of him reciting it with his hands on his chest;
3) Bring the false mailers and show them to his crowds while denouncing their inaccuracies.
4) Bring/PLAY audio clips of the ROBOCALLS that some incredulous or uninformed people would fall for.
5) Unlike Hillary who focuses only on big states, he needs to say that he WANTS to be the President of the UNITED States.
PLEASE HQ, would you please listen and implement these suggestions, if you want our dear Senator to win the final stretch.

I want to comment on the article I just read on the Huffington Post about some truly nefarious activities of Clinton campaigner Sidney Blumenthal to control the media coverage of Barack Obama, specifically to create a negative image of him in classic Rovian ways using "guilt-by-association tactics, innuendo, and any number of clever tools of the politics of personal destruction honed by the Republicans to bring us eight years of Bush. I am not sure how to do this myself, as I am new to this blogging thing, but could someone please pick up the Sidney Blumenthal article on the Huffington Post site, and help it get to the news shows, and a wider audience. It does explain a lot about the onslaught in the public media against Obama. It is also the back story behind what all the news outlets are saying: that Clinton "has run a much more effective campaign recently". She has been helped by all of this underground "guilt-by-association" feed from Blumenthal to the sharks in the MSM who love the sound bite and the controversy and who justify all the innuendos and attacks as "getting to know who Barack Obama really is". This is NOT who he really is, and he is being defined in the popular media by the virulent Rovian tactics that worked so well against Kerry--to label him elitist, and un-patriotic--only THIS time it is Clinton waging this toxic political warfare against a fellow Democrat standing in her way to the nomination. I have read that Bill Clinton is very personally urging the attacks on Obama, as well. They clearly mean to damage him fatally. I have come to believe that the Clintons experience Barack Obama as a narcissistic injury, and there is therefore no limit to their rage. How can we let these people win? It is unconscionable that they are rewarded for these behaviors. The sad irony is that these are Democrats who seem to have bought into the Republican (Rovian) modus operandi to "win" at all costs. In the end, what have they won? And what have we lost?

And the Bible says "do unto others as you will have them do unto you." When has Hillary treated her neighbor Democrat Barack that way? It should be off limits for politicians to mock other politicians' pastors. I never believed John McCain's pastor or Hillary Clinton's pastor was running for office, so why should I believe Reverend Wright is running in Obama's place? I don't necessarily agree with Reverend Wright, but I also think this represents an intrusion on Obama's privacy by making him denounce the man who baptized him. This was a SICK tactic by the Clintons designed for Obama to lose the black vote. I feel deeply saddened for Obama to have done this. I also feel that there are some compassionate superdelegates who are realizing that this is not politics as usual; this is the worst type of smear tactics and denigration. I have great sympathy for Michelle Obama because she seems deeply hurt by all of this. I can tell that she feels protective of Barack and also of her family. I feel especially sorry for her children who have to hear that their father's candidacy is being damaged by their former pastor and that many whites in Pennsylvania didn't vote for Barack because of his skin color. This is confusing to me because it also smacks of racial overtones and of prejudice. I teach at a historically black college, and I think the last thing that African Americans need is another white person saying that Obama is unelectable and overturning his lead in pledged delegates after bashing him for his connection to a pastor who has nothing to do with his ideas.
I say this because many African Americans grow up being told that the cards are already stacked against them and that there is no way an African American could ever be elected. If it is true what the media says about what happened in Pennsylvania, we all need to redouble our efforts to promote change. Because as Michael Moore said, we don't need a bigger racial divide in this country. We don't need Reverend Wright's antiquated ideas about race. We don't need a politician based on division of races and generation. We need unity, we need to come together now. Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream is not a false dream, it can come true. Let's realize that it can come true. Let's call!

I was really outraged today when one of Hilliary campaign heads tried to criticize one of the supers saying that IL was not his home state. I dont know which one it was, I think Joe Andrew, but the man was on the news and he said that in fact he was born in the state, he went to school in the state, and his parents still live there.
Hilliary tries to claim every state as her home state, PA she tried and play as her home state. Then she moved into New York just to establish residency here and then ran for the Senate. She only moved here to do that. SHe only did that so that she could run for President one day. This whole run has been a conspiracy brewing for years.
Well there are many of us here in New York who do not feel that she is a native New Yorker or a New Yorker in any sense of the word. She said she was a yankee fan one time and when asked if she could name one yankee she couldnt.
She does not know what it means to be a New Yorker, she will never know. She will never fit in here to many of us.
Everyone I talk to here in New York wants Barack. Clinton once again has shown her true colors during this race and no one thinks highly of her at all.

Now this pisses me off, has these been sent to other MSM, cause if they can stir up sh**t about Obama's pastor, they can bring her pastor to the forefront too! I can't believe this, and she has the nerve to say, "You can't choose your relatives, but you can choose your pastor."
That holier-than-thou bi**h!!!!
This bit of news needs to be sent to Keith O.

If I was Barack, I would use the next big rally to define what it means to be tough. I'd say:
Have you picked up on all this talk about being tough lately? I hear them saying, "Oh that Barack, he's not tough enough. He's got to go out and get down and sling some good old political mud."
Let me tell you about what's tough and what's easy. And you choose who is tough. The kind of tough that counts. Not false tough. The kind of tough that makes good leaders. Let's talk tough our way.
What's tough is growing up as a black child with a single white mom.
What's easy is calling your opponent an elitist who doesn't understand 'real America'. We believe that we are all real Americans.
What's tough is deciding to campaign for President against a field of eight seasoned, talented politicians when you are the new comer.
What's easy is do what you are told by party insiders. That it was someone else's turn and to wait till next time. We can't wait our turn because the last time we checked the Constitution of the United States of America, there was no provision for turns. And America needs change now.
What's tough is beating all but one of your opponents out of the race. (So far.)
What's easy is to go along for the ride and build name recognition. We are building name recognition, but we are not just along for the ride.
What's tough is to build a community organization in every state in America and in every territory and with Americans abroad too.
What's easy is to not bother with half the states and when you lose, claim that they don't matter. Their votes aren't worth it. That's easy. We believe that every voter is worth it and we will work hard to get their support. That's tough.
What's tough is to do the work of understanding the tiny details of every single caucus state far in advance and to organize people to participate.
What's easy is to complain, after you lose, that caucuses are really not fair because everyone can't have time to come. When we lose in a state we keep our organization in place getting ready for the general election.

I hope a shortened version of this video is running in Indiana. These women are sharing my views. I started as an HRC supporter, but as the campaign continued I saw dirty tricks being used by the HRC campaign that reminded me of the Nixon years. OH DEAR! That remark certainly dates me!

Hi everyone! The blog has been updated with the May 1st *evening* news content.
For those who don't know, my name is Cris and I'm a Cuban-American who supports Barack Obama.
I run a blog that compiles pretty much every major news article and commentary that comes out each day about Senator Obama. My hope is that it's a useful tool for those who want to keep up with everything going on in the campaign. I also contribute my own commentary as well.
I hope this is helpful to everyone.

I just got the info on the vote for change rally in San Diego on May 10th. I encourage everyone to find one of these rallies. Our voices and support for Sen. Obama will not be idle if we continue to push on to get him the nomination. I pray these HRC supporters come to their senses too and see that she is promising anything and everything just to get that power grab going with her and Bill. PLEASE HELP TO SHOW YOUR GRASSROOTS SUPPORT FOR SEN. OBAMA AND VOTER REGISTRATION IN YOUR STATE !!
Go Sen. O !!!

I think that this video should be the one that the campaign should show everyday from now on to Tuesday's election. I sure hope that is what they are doing. It's a great model for the contests to come and Barark needs this personal touch from people who believe in him.

Does anyone notice that Clinton's definition of what's important in this race keeps changing? In the beginning, it was "let the voters be heard." Then it was "well, some voters are more important than others." Then it was, "well, the superdelegates are what matter." And now its back to "let the voters be heard"?
For all the back and forth about whether this is good for the process, we know one thing. In most years, with a few rare exceptions, all 50 states DON'T have a say in who the nominee is! There is a presumptive nominee BEFORE many of them vote. We in Pennsylvania have accepted that fact for a long time. It's part of that process.

Warning to all --- the Indianapolis Star (local newspaper) is supporting Hillary. That local newspaper has a sports page that rocks. Indiana is an open primary -- show up May 6th and you can vote in either party. The Republicans have there candidate so -- as a former hoosier --I think Hillary takes my former state. So, that makes North Carolina a must win. Does anyone know if NC is a "open" primary?
Keep HOPE alive.

I hate to say this and REALLY wish I was wrong because I want Obama for President REALLY bad....
BUT this country isn't ready for a good man, Obama is being punished because of the color of his skin... there is still WAY to much racism in this country and it's so VERY sad.
I WILL NOT VOTE FOR HILARY so my only other option will be McCain.... this whole process SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!! Power to the Rich, you can't beat them, $$$$ makes anything they do OK... just like OJ.
PS: how much $$$$ is Hiliary paying Rev Wright for his never ending bashing?????????? ... he 's in the lime light now and the media is eating it up!
Good Luck Everyone, we are ALL going to need it!!!

Hillary says she's like Goldilocks because she's
not too little, not too much, but just right. I'd like to add that Goldilocks also stole the porridge and slept in someoneelse's bed.
This may sound petty but she disturbs me so much that I feel like hitting back. I would like to see a big controversy that would disrupt her campaign but with Fox News, CNN, and at times, MSNBC attacking Obama all of the time, I'm sure it wouldn't get the air time. There must be some way to expose her and to stop the press bias. Once Barrack Obama is president then he can totally concentrate on the issues but until then he needs to fight the fight of his life to get there. At this point, Obama needs to focus on the battle and by appearing as a guest on TV programs he is very effective. I just feel that I need to know more about what the plan is for this fight. I already know he's the man for the job with the right policies.
