Even though I have been registered to vote, and have voted in *every* general election since I turned 18 (I'm in my 40's now) I decided on a whim to test the "Vote for Change" web site tool and see if it showed my registration. It didn’t. So I went to the Ventura County, California registrar’s web site and used their online tool. It also showed that I am *not* registered to vote. Somehow I have mysteriously dropped off the registrars list as being a registered voter. So I had a few friends who know they are registered voters check their registration status as well, though most appeared as registered, there were several who did NOT. They too had been mysteriously removed from the registrar and were no longer listed as registered voters. Had I not done this, myself and my friends would have shown up at the polls on November 4th and been turned away.
I encourage EVERYONE to check their voter registration status IMMEDIATELY.
Do a
Google
search on:
how can I find out if I am registered to vote in
[insert your state here]
Or go to:

California voters go here for your county:
