Should Obama be elected president, it would be a historic day -- the fullest realization of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream of an America where we are judged by the content of our character rather than the color of our skin. That would be a breathtaking moment, one that many Americans never thought they'd live to see. But that moment will quickly give way to the challenge of governing a nation in deeply troubling times.
