I am creating the "Obama for Native Americans" group to keep us in touch. On three main points: Environmentalism, Technology, and Energy. With the underlying theme of respect and culture of our Native Communities.
- Environmentalism, because native peoples have been environmentalists for the past 20,000 years
- Technology, because to communicate with our Off-rez and "out-of-area" Tribal Members and Native Communities. The internet is a tool.. and from our indigenous technology standpoint, it is the "smoke signals of the 21st century". We are the next generation of storytellers.. and we use film,video, and technology to assist us in the survival of our language, culture, and stories to be told for futures to come.
- Energy, the Indigenous technologies have always been here. Not to use modern "alternative" energy to provide us with the assistance of modern living. Solar, Wind, or the conservation of all energies which would otherwise go to waste.
