Crooks and Liars has a round-up from Hillary Clinton's appearance on Meet the Press that exemplifies everything I said below.
For me, it comes down to this, finally, and then maybe I'll be able to move on to something else:
Come November, I don't want to vote for the lesser of two evils. I want to support my party's candidate on his or her own merits.
It's not that I "like" Obama more, it's that he, alone of all the candidates, has earned my respect. I lived in his neighborhood for four years. He was my representative in the Illinois State Senate, I happily voted for him to represent me in the United States Senate, where he's done one hell of a job. I read his first book, and was deeply moved and inspired by it. I think he is absolutely the best choice for the job of President of the United States among those who are running. I don't see eye to eye with him on every issue, but I understand and respect his points of view and I think his integrity is without question.
Now I'd really like to write and think about something else, so can this damnable primary season just end already?!
