We're here in Denver and the doors are about to open at the
event with Barack
in
Magness Arena
. There's thousands of people lined up outside.
Among them are Denise, Nancy, Tina, Rachel, Elle, Jordan and Anna.
They're from Parker and are really excited to be here. They got up at 4:45 this morning to make sure they got a good spot in the line.
This will be the first time any of them have caucused---they all recently attended one of our caucus trainings. Are you in Colorado?
Click here to visit our caucus center
.
Check back soon for more. Doors opened about five minutes ago!

Yes, just go! I had the privelege of seeing Barack in person 4 times in NH. It is always worth the wait! The last time I saw him in Nashua there were thousands of people. We ended up in an overflow room. He still came in to see us afterward. We lucked out. Being some of the last people in, we ended up perfectly positioned to be able to say hello and shake his hand. Stop reading and go.

Colorado is fired up. By my count y'all have about 10 offices open out there.
I love how Obama rallies are a "family" type of atmosphere. Attending the Obama-Kennedy Rally was one of the most meaningful experiences of me life.

I agree. We have taken our four children to every event except the one with Oprah and we were kicking ourselves for that one. Even that event would have been fine for kids. There are families everywhere at Obama events. We give our kids Obama stickers to hand out to the other kids so they can get fired up too!

With Senator Edwards not in the race, it will be the best time to put forward your vision for america. Hillary will be prepared with her detailed Health Care Plan, Economic Plan, Housing Plan, Immigration Plan etc...
Be ready with your game Senator. With little policy differences, this is the time to demonstrate your knowledge of all policy's and also talk about how you are more electable.
Keep an eye on those Latino and young voters.
Have your best debate tomorrow as she won't be able to live of sound bites anymore.
And don't do any tit for tat like last debate. We don't want to hit below the belt with Walmart type remarks.

Agree 100 %. This is the time to play out our best cards. I really hope they are doing debate prep all night. Tommorows debate will be extremely important. That is the night we will show everyone why Senator Obama is the man.
Also, I know this might sound silly, but in a tight race everything counts. Some newspapers and news stations have a small list of most read stories and so on. We should read the stories that is below positive-HRC stories on the list, and by that get her of the list.

"Edwards has told top advisers about his decision. It is expected he will announce it in a speech at 1 p.m. ET Wednesday in New Orleans, Louisiana."
Everyone - lets get out and reach out to the Edwards camp - lets convince them why they should support Obama. Now is our chance to get more folks to hear our message! With some Edwards endorsers switching to Obama it may be a good sign.
We can do it folks! YES WE CAN!
What is everyone's thought on an Obama/Edwards ticket? As I think that Edwards will likely try to play "let's make deal", he will probably go to both Obama AND Hillary and say something like "if you bring me on board I'll throw my support for you."

I'm glad he dropped out.
I'm sad to see the Media making this out to be a race war. It's shameful that their "Storyline" is all race & class based.
I don't think Sen. Edwards is very forthright. I suspect he will endorse HRC or just sit on the fence.
He's been whining for weeks about "not getting media coverage" and "running against $100M celebrity candidates." He's the one who has been running for President since 2004--everybody knows him. We just chose to support Obama.
Mark my words: Obama will NEVER have a VP who voted for the Iraq War.
Top 5 VP bets:
Gov. Sebelius (Kansas)
Sen. Webb (Virginia)
Gov. Mabus (Miss.)
Gov. Napolitano (AZ)
Caroline Kennedy

Your probably right that Obama won't take a VP that voted for the war - it would go against his message on that issue.
I think the coolist thing would be for him to take a VP that ISN'T a current politician - but an average American. Think about that idea for a minute. How many of us feel that Washington doesn't listen to us? How many of us REALLY know that the problems are and have pretty good ideas how to fix them. Example the economy, we have large corporations sending manufacturing overseas, sending jobs overseas, laying people off, paying off politicians to do their bidding. If you could get an average American that is fully behind OBama as a VP I think would pull A LOT of weight from the middle class. Especially if the person was eighter a hispanic or african american female, or someone of mixed race. Don't take this as me bringing "race" into this. I more thinking of how it would show how much Obama TRULY is the uniter of ALL.
Just in! Obama has released a statment on Edwards withdrawl! Just heard it on CNN - look for it!

Fellow NORTH CAROLINIANS, NOW is the time to write our State representatives to ask them to endorse Barack Obama. GK Butterfield already has, so we just need to thank him and ask him to encourage others to chose as he has. If you know anyone else especially in your district ask them to write for support of Barack Obama also. Here is a link for the State Representatives. I don't have one for Governor Easley, but he typically don't take sides in anything, but you can goggle it and email him to ask. I did, but I haven't got a response back.

Webb is the best choice to combat the McCain military stance. Also rumors that McCain will have Colin Powell as his VP. That would be a formidable team. You need someone with a military background to offset that.

I don´t want to be preachy, but I think we should all show a lot of respect for Sen. Edwards and his supporters. They believed in their candidate too and must be feeling quite sad. Edwards is a good person--he isn´t perfect and neither is anyone. He made mistakes but he admitted them and that in itself says a lot. In addition, he has really focused on the issue of poverty in the richest nation in the world. This is not a popular issue and he didn´t shy away from it.
I hope that we don´t act like vultures circling, wondering who is going in for the "leftovers". Give him and his supporters a respectful moment. Plus, let us all hope that his dropping out is not related to the worsening of his wife´s health. I repeat--they are good people.

I agree wholeheartedly. While I am not particularly inspired by John Edwards, I've always considered him a good person with excellent views -- and while he voted for the war, he at least admitted his mistake and apologized for it. He never used dirty tactics like the Clintons did, and he always ran on his record.
And the fact that he is fighting for the average American against special interests makes him a kindred spirit to Sen. Obama.
I welcome all John Edwards supporters with open arms.

Now that john Edwards has dropped out, i have aquestion regarding his supporters:
If all of John Edwards supporters were so strong for thier candidate, what happened to their financial support??? He has no funds left after SC, so I question how they supported John Edwards? Was it just lip service or just blogging??? If he had the support that some people are claiming he had, Then why no funding??? If we are looking for his supporters to come our way, then let it be known that this is a MOVEMENT AND IT TAKES MORE THAN TALK to get Barack Obama to the white house. WE ARE NOT ALL ABOUT TALK,We are the force with financing and phone banking and canvassing. We need more from supporters than just DailyKos blogging. IMHO.

I know that it took a lot of prodding to get me out of my volunteering cocoon, but this website and all the tools within it has made it so easy for me, I had no excuse.

I don't know why Edwards just won't come out to endorse Obama if that is what he wants to do. I don't understand the 'hold out' factor. What are they waiting for?
I have respect for the Republicans at least...when they get out they endorse another candidate usually. They are 'family' they support one another--publicly at least--- even if they don't like one another. Biden, Dodd, Edwards....they just want to sit on the fence. Where's Gore? Kucinich didn't even come out to give a formal endorsement.
I'm very happy to be an Independent! I don't respect either party frankly...

I think it is very important to choose the right moment to make endorsements... I think Edwards is only saying he drops, and the announcement will come later in New Orleans. He make thake some time before any endorsement comes. Timing is of the esence.
By the way, Jimmy Carter praised Obama!

While I've been hoping Senator Edwards would drop out of the race, I find myself feeling saddened by the announcement that he will do so today, which I just heard on NPR. I live in Iowa. Sen. Edwards came here early and was an excellent candidate. I could have easily supported him, but decided last Sept. to lend my support, donations, and some volunteering to Sen. Obama. But I have a close friend who supported John Edwards, hosted a fund raiser for him -- and with him -- in her home, and was a leader in his campaign in this state. I am sorry that such a good man has had to withdraw from the race, but of course, there can only be one nominee.
I doubt that John Edwards would accept the VP position again, with either candidate. I've read several days ago that the Obama campaign has (unofficially) offered him the position of attorney general. I'd love to see him accept that position in an Obama administration. I think there is an affinity between Edwards and Obama that is not there between Edwards and Clinton.
I don't know if Edwards leaving the race will help Obama. I believe there are those who would support anyone but Clinton (I saw that at my Iowa caucus) and I think Obama and Edwards share a similar appeal.
On the other hand, those "white" voters that Bill Clinton tried to scare into Hillary's camp in SC mostly went for Edwards. Will voters who MAY be factoring in race move to Clinton?
My best wishes are with John Edwards, Elizabeth and their children. I expect Sen. Edwards will continue to play a leadership role in this country in the years ahead.

I do agree.
John Edwards has been distinguished in his campaign and i feel most Obama supporters hold a place in their heart for Johnny boy.
The media pushed the "white vote" issue in SC, but the american people are smarter than this in my opinion. A majority of JE supporters are switching to Obama is my opinion based on seeing most polls and even this morning's discussions on a variety of big sites.
For anyone undecided, lets remember this is an election about the the future vs the past.. We must move forward w/ our thinking. We must Unite if we are ever going to accomplish anything...

What does it mean for Obama that Edwards is dropping out of the race?
Here is a link from the Wall Street Journal wire service. They think Edwards is more likely to endorse Obama than Clinton. Also, Mark Halperin, Time correspondent, said on CNN that based on his conversations and experience with the Edwards campaign that it is hugely unlikely that Edwards would go into Hillary's camp.

Home-made signs are EXTREMELY effective because they are personal.
Recipe:
two 20" x 30" foam core poster board
2 sticks, square not round 3/8" x 36"
12 upholstery nails
blue and red paint
paint brush
Put a board on each side for strength and 2-sided signs.
Paint your message, assemble, deploy.
Make a sequence of signs:
vote
for
change
REPLACE the last sign daily, ending with "Obama". People love the suspense.
EVEN BETTER: hold a sign and wave to people
Get them SMILING when they vote for Obama.
cut foam-core poster boards in half
take 3 pieces, join with clear packing tape
make them all hinge along one axis
center panel flips up and down
flip up: Honk for Obama
flip down: Vote for Obama
BELIEVE ME -- PEOPLE LOVE THESE

Remind him that Barack Obama has been working as a community organizer with unions and working Americans for almost 20 years. Encourage Edwards to stand for change against the corporate greed and lobbyists that are bringing too much corruption into our government.
Let's keep Edwards' legacy going!

I think we should leave that to Sen. Obama. I also assume that Edwards already knows what he will do based on his beliefs.
If we want to influence his supporters, then I suggest we be respectful, honest and nice to them and certainly not put negative things on these posts about them or Edwards. Some of the conversations/speculations about his supporters are not particularly a class act.

It amazes me how my fellow Obamanites are so concerned about who Edwards endorses. Have you all forgtotten what is driving this campaign??? This campaign is being driven by the American people who believe that this country can do better than what we have been getting for the past 35 years. Obama has always been respectful to Edwards yet Obama's strength comes from people like you and I and thats what will make him prevail in the race for POTUS, not who endorses him. There is a movement going on here people and the establishment cannot stop it.
I will be phone banking for Barack this Saturday and will vote for him on Tuesday.

Getting more signatures for Senator Obama to get him on the ballot in Pennsylvania.
I am also gathering signatures for myself as a delegate, and two other delegates in my area.
I will be at two local bus stops tomorrow and Friday in my area at 4:15 AM getting signatures.
Then I will be at a table in my community doing the same on Saturday.
Then we rented a table at the local mall for a week to gather even more signatures.
As first it was going slowly, but now we've got the momentum! 130 signatures so far. We are looking to get as close as possible to 500!
Yes we can!

Please vote for Obama in this AOL online poll (see link below).
Almost all of New England (except for Massachusetts) is in Obama's column, as well as most of the Southeast states and many of the Midwest ones.
Especially need Obama online supporters here to vote from mid-Atlantic states like NJ, DE, PA, NY, OH; and from the Southwest and West coast states like CA, OR, AZ, NM, OK and TX.
I know this is only an online poll, but it's a big poll (so far over 125,000 people have voted in this poll -- started 1/28 and due to close on 2/2), so please vote, if you haven't already, and show the online community that Obama can catch and surpass her polled numbers even online.
If you have already voted, you can still click on the same link, and see the ongoing updated polled results.

Here in Italy we are about to start a movement for change against the old politics and the old establishment. We wish to get a video support from Senator Obama which could benefit from this initiative attracting italian-american voters (20 mln people in US), but it's hard. I sent by post our proposed project but the call center is the only contact point and things are not moving on. Does anyone have an idea how can I contact the political dept. in Chicago or someone of his staff? I know, I'm asking a miracle, but I sat YES WE CAN.
