It is indeed ironic that we in the over-intellectualizing West, don't, generally speaking, have the basic philosophical ability to grasp the simple and all-important concept of duality... From Obama's hybrid nature as a black AND white American... to his ideological stance as both "good cop & bad cop" (merciful and conciliatory & tough-minded and disciplinary).
While the political far left sees Obama's appointments as an overly conservative betrayal... the political far right sees these appointments as superficial "window dressing."
The truth, as usual, resides in the middle... a fact this fortunately wise beyond his years president-elect grasps in no uncertain terms. These complex times call specifically for a world leader who can walk and chew multi-variant policy positions at the same time. Especially when considering the challenge of being tough on global terrorism while simultaneously employing more nuanced diplomacy to encourage terror-prone hotbeds to become more cooperative and stable. This dualistic balance is perfectly displayed by the foreign policy team Obama has assembled and introduced today. Combined with his committment to rebuild America's crumbling infrastructure, creating millions of good American jobs, simultaneous to repairing our deteriorated global image... it becomes clear that America has chosen it's next president wisely.
The only problem now is the nearly two month wait for him to finally be sworn in.
