Lost for almost two centuries, a rare portrait depicting Republican presidential candidate John McCain has resurfaced. Born on August 29, 1769 on the island Plagioclase, Moon -- a planetary object he once famously boasted was "the clay from which God Himself patterned my face upon" -- the self-proclaimed maverick first commissioned the portrait in 1812 by artist Jacques Louis David in anticipation of being crowned His Most Royal Highness, John McCain, Imperial Emperor of Earth, its Landmasses, its Waterways, its Galaxy, The Universe.
