Obama Featured on $100 Silver Medallion
By Numismatic News
May 01, 2008
A 2008 Barack Obama 1 ounce pure silver medallion is being offered by Vision Trading Partners of Las Vegas, Nev.
The obverse depicts the bust of Obama encircled by legends "United States Of America" along the upper rim and "Obama 2008 along the lower rim." Eight stars flank Obama, symbolizing the year. An American Eagle is featured on the reverse.
Numismatic News contributor Ken Potter of Michigan designed the obverse. The die was hand-engraved by Brian Timmins of Wisconsin's Landmark Engraving. Struck by Sunshine Minting of Idaho, the deep cameo proof medallions are 39 mm in diameter and 1 troy ounce of silver.
VTP is offering medallions encapsulated in Air-tite holders for $100 each. A gift set of 10 in holders in a velvet box costs $800. A 20-piece set in a plastic case costs $1,500. Shipping is free. To order, call (800) 785-6113.

Not a good liking of Senator Obama |

From the display version here it is a mean and unflattering looking piece of him. I love the idea of it but I would not purchase this one as it is the complete opposite of what Senator Obama represents.
A positive uplifting image would be a more honest and inviting portrayal. Just my 2 cents. Shelley
