McCain: MORE deserving? Palins type?

Is John McCain more of a hero than other POW's and heroic veterans? In other words, does he deserve to have his name added to the very exclusive list of names of Presidents of the United States because his sacrifice and accomplishments were so great?

The guy was a hero, but should he still be viewed as a hero? McCain knows he has a high chance of dying soon. If he makes it to the election, and his 'hail mary' choice of Sarah Palin pays off, then he'll go to his grave with another honor, that of having been a President of the United States. But what will his legacy be? I'm sorry to be so horribly blunt and possibly offensive, but is he senile or cynical in his choice of Sarah Palin?

Those veterans I've been priviledged to know would never place attaining personal honor above the good of the country. Getting ones name on that exclusive list would not be so important to the veterans I've known as to cause them to saddle the USA with a Sarah Palin.

But what is 'a' Sarah Palin? From my impression, Sarah Palin is the 'pretty attention getter' who cozies up to power and takes the credit for the real work of other women and men. I could be wrong, and I hate to stereotype, but I've worked with enough people 'community organizing', that I know when I've seen certain personality types. As unscientific as it may be, I claim Sarah Palin fits a type. Not all people fit a 'type', because some are so exceptional or unique that they are more 'individual' than other people. Well, in my experience, I'd have to say that I've seen Sarah before.

Sarah is not a 'do-er', she is not the one who stays late to wash pots after a church spaghetti dinenr, she's the one chatting up the beautiful or influential people if there are any to be found. Otherwise, she's out of there. Sarah is about Sarah. She's the one whoshows up conveniently dressed too nicely to do the grunt work, passing it off to the 'real people', while chatting and manuvering, casting aspersions on rivals, and getting near the kind of people that can do her some good. Ambitious and ruthless. If I'm right, a trail of the trampled will surface.

So my question is not 'does McCain deserve the right to saddle us with a Sarah Palin', it is, 'who or what is Sarah Palin like'?

If you can fil me in on an 'official' personality type that charachterizes Sarah, please respond to the blog, Thank You.

Her personality type is most likely ESTJ, She can come across as controlling, principled, and she likes to always be doing something and organizing something.
Look up ESTJ Jung types, and personality page, also david Kiersy, please understand me. She is a traditionalist. And her personality type can come across as traditionally masculine and domineering. ESTJ's make good bosses, and like to be in control of everything. They can be inconsiderate of other people's feelings however. But they think they are always right. They will look foolish next to someone who is more intelligent than them on debating matters.

Thanks for that 'official personality type, but that is not her. She didn't organize anything or do the work, she just tagged along until she 'went into action' nuzzling up to the people in authority. She never worked, except the bare minimum to 'be there'. 'Domineering' wasn't exactly right with people who should have been her peers, I'd say though that she was controlling. I also wouldn't say she was masculine, escpecially with authority figures (the administrators, or an influential teacher). She definately got along much, much better with men than women.

One instance I recall was when I was helping clean up after a science fair that we parents had organized for our rural and extremely small elementary school. The kids had a blast and were very proud of us looking at their projects, but that is beside the point. Later that evening (the prizes were handed out at 7:00), we parent organizers worked late (10ish) to clean the cafeteria tables on which the projects had been set. They were a mess from a number of 'volcano' projects. We put the tables away, then swept the floor.

One fairly new mother spent the entire time 'chatting up' the school principal, getting herself and her kid known while we worked. It wasn't the last event at which she exhibited this behavior. We tried to draw her in, and make her feel like one of the gang, and she always seemed to have that knack to keep close to power, and jump over people who had always done the work that needed done.

Now I can't go into enough detail here because there are many subtleties that were observed over the years, but slowly, the conclusion was drawn that this person simply had the knack to 'rise up' through a combination of being 'seen' without actually doing her fair share, and using innuendo and various snide remarks to keep her rivals in their places.

It was spooky that the woman looked, sounded and acted like Sarah Palin. I don't know what personality type you are referring to, but my experience says this woman is the type that is drawn to power, knows what to say, who to impress and how to act in order to get there. As close as I can call her is 'a phoney'.

Is there another type that matches better?

I forgot to mention that her personality changed completely in the presence of someone she wanted to impress. She became almost childlike, for lack of a better term. Compliant?
