I'm glad someone is at last pointing out that nuclear energy is cheap only if the US government (i.e., our tax dollars) upports it However, we have a legacy from previous support. Every nuclear plant is surrounded by plutonium waste. What can we do? Transporting it to a hole in some western state (the most common suggestion) means that some truck or train will inevitably get into an accident and spew radioactivity all over the landscape. Polution free?
It is possible to take that plutonium and convert it to electric power. This is not a cheap solution, but it can be a final solution. What other pollibilities are there?
