Whats a community organizer?

Community Organizing? When my mean republican friends ask me what a community organizer exactly does, I honestly don't have an answer. Can someone tell me what a community organizer is? I know it's got to be something good, because Obama is basically a saint who has been sent by god to help us. Someone told me that they thought it had to do with registering people to vote. Someone else told me that it was to help poor black people like Tawana Brawley get justice from white oppressers. I just need to know what to tell people.

Adam Brickley is the young man making the talk show circuit that is responsible for the "Draft Sarah Palin for VP" website. He set up the website and worked hard to get the online community to take notice of his website - and it worked! So, I guess you could say that Sarah Palin owes her VP position to the work of a ... community organizer!!
