Barack Obama is the most popular leader in Canadian politics, in spite of the fact that Barack has never visited Canada and generally isn't known that well.
In a recent poll conducted in Canada Barack Obama was preferred over McCain by a 5 to 1 margin and had a 19 point lead on Clinton. This is surprising since the Clinton brand name is well known here like it is in other parts of the world.
The poll produced one other extremely surprising result which was Barack Obama would be elected Prime Minister Of Canada regardless of which of the two major Canadian political parties he was leader of.
I believe one of the major reasons for his popularity is CBC, one of our two major TV networks ran a documentry produced by CNN which covered Barack and Michelle's visit to Kenya. THis documentary struck a note in Canadian's in that it showed the Obama's as humanitiarions and populous leaders. The single biggest thing that impressed me was Barck meeting with some of the villagers in this small destitute village in Kenay and "listening" to them describe their problems.
Imagine how powerful that is when the single most poweful leader in the world meets with refugees in a destitute village in Kenya and understands their struggles and what's needed to help them. Surely Barack Obama will make the world a better place
