Congratulations in getting the stimulus package through. However It was with sadness that I saw the compromises made by the white House. Specially the funds for Hiv Aids so desperately needed. I translated your strategy to fight this pandemia and hope you get to it as soon as possible.Lives are at stake, financial ruin to many, and lack of hope for those who impatiently see the alarming rise among latinos,afro americans the young and the old. Mental Health is as important as medicines, Rehabilitation Programs sorely needed. And involvement by all who voted for change for the Bush administration let many things slip by for this particular group.I firmly believe in you and your strategies for all the areas mentioned above. Perhaps a little impatient but that seems to be a characteristic of those burdened with the bureaucracy

Mr. President, First Lady we need your full commitment which I am sure you both have.

Healthcare is a Right not a Privilege | Report to Admin

So glad to see your comments. I live in Arizona and while I am not Latino I live on a street and in a state where healthcare for the largest "minority" as well as those who have HIV and AIDS is abyssmal at best. I moved here from Washington DC 10 years thinking that while healthcare would not be as good as DC, it couldn't be THAT bad. It is. I've been cut off of SSDI after 14 years, travel 90 miles to see a doctor who actually cares and wonder each day if Ryan White will be able to continue to support my prescription needs. We really do need the President to recognize another crisis in the United States that the Bush Administration created and that is healthcare for disabled and impoverished Americans (and I include in that all persons living in this country from birth or divine intervention). My street is a testimony of the beauty of diverse culture but we sleep at wondering whether ICE will take people away; our days awake are struggling for healthcare for babies and food on the table. I was so proud of Presidential Candidate Sen. Obama when he told Sen. McCain that healthcare was a right not a privilede. Now, Mr. President, we need to have our precious rights restored.
